Bebop and Rocksteady from the new Show

As person who has studied Russian... Its spelled "da" in Latin letters.(да in cyrillic letters) I dunno whether its pronounced "dah" since English pronunciation guides are weird so I don't know if English person would say its pronounced "dah"

Ya know, isn't Steranko EXTREMELY stereotypical Russian bad guy? To possibly silly/offensive degree?

I mean, he wears winter coat(type associated with Russians for some reason) despite it not being winter and he has symbols of soviet union on his brass knuckles. Only thing we need is for him to say something about Mother Russia and say "comrade" a lot and he has fulfilled all cliches <_<

Ha, that's awesome. I'd love for Steranko to be Rocksteady and it looks like he's going to be. Neat. I don't care if Rocksteady has a Russian accent this time around because it's a different take on the character. You're living in the past, Cubed, and that's a shame.

I don't want a Russian Rocksteady.

Maybe the mutation can alter his vocal cords making him speak like a New Yorker. I don't want Rocksteady to say things like, "Da" in the show. Ugh I'm not looking forward to this.

Nick got all the other classic characters right, it would be a shame if they mess up the iconic Rocksteady.

And Cubed...it's a new series. I mean Rahzar is a totally different take on a "classic" character. Why not the characters that will become Bebop and Rocksteady?

But Rahzar isn't as important as Bebop/Rocksteady prior to Nick. One movie and one episode of the OT was all he had.

Bebop and Rocksteady were in like 150 episodes and are incredibly iconic. Even IDW had their human forms being pretty much the same and them both being street punks.

Plus most older fans have sentimental attachment to these two. I find their human forms distinctive. I want Rocksteady to speak like a New Yorker.

It's a shame he's now some Eastern European Russian General instead of a white street punk. This is the only time I would approve of whitewashing with his accent being removed after being mutation.

Rocksteady speaking like a Russian militia leader doesn't sit well with me.

No one cares anymore. It's not the 80s show. You're lucky they're in the show at all since shredder already had enough mutant minions.

I'm all for Russian rocksteady. I'd actually be annoyed if his voice changes upon mutation since no one else (except Snakeweed) really lost their original voice upon mutation.

Clearly this show is not for you. Go back to your annual watching if the entire 80s and 2k3 series and leave this show alone. You already kicked Ciro out of this forum, what else do you want???

I just don't get why Rocksteady has to be Russian. I am not a fan of race changing for established characters.

I think there is a very good chance that the Rocksteady is the Russian army guy.

First he does sort of look like the human rocksteady. Blone hair, white skin and big body. All so see as the russian guy has some what a army theme all ready it will not be surpising that he wear army pants. All so thethe thing on his hands and shoulders do sort of match the image we saw of Rocksteady. All was not Rocksteady holding a hammer of sort sort in his image?

That said the big reason I can think of is because the guy was with the guy that will become Bebop. I dont see one showing up with out the otherclose by. Plus see as both try to steal from the Shredder. I can see why they will become Bebop and Rocksteady.

I dont see how you can say that. Rocksteady never had a race before. He was just a blonde white guy before his change. The guy that will become Bebop sound or act nothing like any other Bebop I have seen or read.

Exactly. The more I see Anton, the less I think bebop. He's bebop in appearance only. He reminds me of fatal Fury's duck king more than anything.

Keep in mind that the Nickelodeon series takes huge liberties on characters, They are not gonna be like how we remembered them. I have no problem with that, since this series is its own thing.

Bingo. The show is it's own thing. Don't like it. Watch the 80s show then. This bebop is 100% different than the original. Where are the complaints there Cubed? Hypocrit.

And the IDW comic shows Bebop and Rocksteady how you remembered them, So they have that too.
