In the comics Shredder is just a human being. He gets killed in Issue #1 of the original comic series. His foot clan gather his body parts, and has these genetic worms feast on them to clone him. The first three are failures, but the 4th is a perfect clone. This one bites the big one, when Leo decapitates him.

It suits me just fine if the creators keep Shredder around just a little bit longer. I'm glad he's not finished just yet. There are still more stories that can be told with him. This whole thing can get a lot deeper from here. The new cartoon's version of the Shredder is my favorite Saturday morning cartoon villain of all time!

Yep. He pulls a thermite grenade on them. And Donny tosses his bowstaff at him, which hits him in the face and knocks him off the building where he explodes. The series is somewhat out of order, as Splinter/Utrom storyline is Issue #4, and Return to New York storyline didn't happen til Issue #19

Is this the 2nd or 3rd time Shredder has said "Leonardo"? Too bad he doesn't know the name of any of the other turtles or Splinter.

The armor-sword combo did have a weird effect on shredder, and at least one is of Alien origin, so maybe when the 2 were brought together the armor absorbed (by nanites, maybe) shredder in to it self giving him the memorys of those who had used it in the past, making the armor the living embody ment of Shredder, thus removing Saki from ever again appearing on screen

Just think of the new cartoon as a "remix" of the old Mirage comics: old elements reused with new ones thrown in to make it fresh and different.

That's the same thing I was thinking. But how do you explain the loseing the head thing?

Another awesome episode with cool action, well written dialogue, and great characterization. Shredder, as awlays, kicked butt, Leo's moment with Splinter after saving him was great, and the Guardians finally returned. Baxter's robot body really reminded me of Cain's from Robocop 2. I can't believe they let them cut Shredders head off on a childrens cartoon...even if he did get up again.

Oh man, that was great..espicially the end with leo vs. shredder. It was so cool with the firey backround...then they jump, and leo stands, shredders head falls. It was so great. I wish they didnt show shredder get up without a head, I wish they just showed him laying down, then the next time it showed the same place he wasnt there.

Oh yeah I forgot Japanese names were reversed. Well than they would have all been form the Oroku family.
