Anyway, I think the numbering system Funimation uses would be accurate for the 4-14 thing. I hope there are only five episodes on the set because I only see the series through DVD, and I want the quality to be as high as possible.

. I think I need to burst some bubbles before they explode. Everyone, while having the right to dream, should get your hopes back down before they're crushed September 12th. Looking through all the links on this thread, I think we've all been setting ourselves up for disappointment.
. The first link I looked at <http://www.navarre.com/prodhome.aspx...081&Prod=video> listed it as "TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES[line break]SEASON 4-14 EPISODES". I'm guessing that was supposed to be "SEASON 4-1;4 EPISODES". The listed running time only allows for 5.5 eps anyway. The art for "Rise of the New Shredder" is up, and there isn't a chance in shell (God, I feel so dorky saying that) that they'd only charge $14.98 for 14 eps. Other sites have it listed as $16.98, but the first several volumes had that price while having less than 4 episodes. . The other detail that stood out was the site where it's listed as 300 minutes long <http://www.rightstuf.com/1-800-338-6...69494/4/852/24>. The fact that this is the only site listing it as such should prove it inaccurate, but the source tells us plenty as well. I have personally noticed from plenty of past experience that their info about any product is too random to be taken seriously until they have a synopsis available. Also, they aren't responsible for animated projects of American origin, so they hardly care about this particular program. They only list it because it's a product of Funimation. . So, how do I explain the slightly misleading details on all the other sites? I say "hearsay". A couple of absurd details not meant to be taken literally, which I'm sure is the case with TheRightStuf, snowballed into the realm of believability, possibly even enhanced by this discussion. But, for everyone to set their expectations too high could be cataclysmic. Fans would be upset enough to abandon the franchise in the middle of its downswing, and that could destroy the show. As fickle as show-business is, there is always a possibility of appealing for one last season to tie things up for the sake of the faithful followers. But, what if the faithful have given up?

Well, no, it's possible. At the 4-7 episode per DVD rate, it would take another 2-3 discs to complete the first four seasons (season 4).
They have the first season of Fast Forward to think about, as well as the Ninja Tribunal set. As of now, if they released 1 of 3 season four discs in September, that leaves them three months of pre-Christmas release dates to get out 2 season four discs and the first disc of Fast Forward. That's a rush, and faster than we've ever seen from them. They typically release a disc every two months...meaning if they DID release the rest of season 4 in September, they're better able to get Fast Forward 1.1 out before their Q4 is over (November-ish). Or, should they keep Fast Forward to the January release date, this gives them flexibility to release the Ninja Tribunal in November, assuming it can be prepared in time. I'm not saying I believe the September release is 14 episodes...just that we can't rule it out. If there was ever a time 4Kids would test the "season pack" format, it would be now, right before they're deciding how many units to produce of the Ninja Tribunal set and what kind of sales to expect. |

I really wish FUNi would get off their butts and release some real info about this already. Gord on TVShowsOnDVD, who hasn't been paying all that much attention to TMNT2k3 on DVD, just posted the mostly bogus mixed information from the Navarre site. |

I think that if this is a 14 episode set then we'll see Insane on this release and Ninja Tribunal on a 2nd 14 episode set with the 13 lost episodes #105-117 (since we know that Future Shellshock is 118 that confirms 13 "missing" episodes and also hints that maybe that's all the original Season 5 was ever intended to be).
Just wanted to address the issue of cost and how some of you feel it's too cheap if it is 14 episodes or 2 discs. When the DVDs came out in the UK the original releases were £14.99. With Vol. 4 the price came down to £12.99. But the DVDs still weren't selling well. Rather than just end the DVDs midway through they released 2-disc sets of Vol. 5/6 and Vol. 7/8 for £12.99 each, basically making the releases half price, to finish the first season. Now I don't know what the sales are like for the US DVDs, but if 4Kids are saying that TMNT isn't making enough money and merchandise sales are down (hence the early transition to TMNT: FF) then it's likely that the DVDs sales aren't what they'd hope for either. Now they want to promote FF as much as possible, but with know that hardcore fans (like us) want the rest of the series on DVD. Rather than skip the rest of Season 4 and move straight to FF they package the remaining episodes (which on current single DVD releases would still be another 2 or 3 discs) into one 14 episode 2-disc DVD set for the price of a standard release. The profit won't be as much, but in their eyes it's worth it to keep the fans happy and allow a faster transition to FF. I think the Lost Season would always be a set rather than standard single disc releases as it's not aimed at the kids market but at the hardcore fans who want a proper ending to their series. It's Peter Laird's project more than 4Kids now as he's personally funding it to get the episodes to the fans. Think about it; the original plan was 3.8 in Aug, 3.9 in Nov, FF 1.1 in Jan 07. By combining 3.8 and 3.9 and releasing them in Sept, that leaves the Nov/Dec slot free for FF 1.1 to come forward to a holiday release to cash in on the kids market. TLS will take the Jan 07 slot and FF 1.2 will probably follow very soon after (Feb 07 is likely, March 07 at latest). So it's not unrealistic for this to be a 2 DVD/14 episode set. Or they could do what Superman: The Animated Series does for it's 2nd disc - dual sided DVDs. One DVD with 7 episodes on each side. And Krangstein they haven't done 3 episode DVDs for a while now - the last was in Season 1! They've been 5 episodes per disc for ages, the last release was 6 episodes. |

Your right, it's not unrealistic for this to be a 2 DVD/14 episode set. But I have a bad feeling that insane in the membrance won't be on it. The plans to release that episode haven't been finelized. Maybe it will never be released

It was never unrealistic, but it would be a shock. Funimation has never released so many episodes of anything on a DVD as it has for this show, so there is a chance. However, they have never used any kind of discs other than one-sided single-layer. So, this would be a huge amount of firsts for our favorite anime distributor. (Just play along in case they're watching.

Just an update,
I'm getting braver with the phone, and so long as I think clearly about what I'm going to say, I don't get befuddled I placed a call in ot Navarre, since Funi's number got me an answering machine. Hopefully they'll call back by the end of the day.
