carton

No, what I meant was....if I don't like this new cartoon when it comes out, then I will probably stick to always liking the first cartoon.

Oh... Well one thing is clear, the new show will be totally diffrent from the old one. But I can't see any reason that the old cartoon fans wouldn't like it.

I for one can't wait for it! It will definitely start Turtlemania once again, and Judith Gold will think twice about what she said on VH1's "I Love The 80s"

Now that I think of it, maybe VH1 puposely included that clip in there so that people can poke fun at her when the new series begins...

Yeah, Im pretty sure that Mirage, Archie, and old Cartoon fans can all enjoy the new series. The only thing that can ruin it now is fox, And I certainly hope that it won't come to that.

Actually there is one more thing that can ruin it. But I hope this is nothing to worry about. And that is the voice actors. I hope they are not overdone.

I don't belive it will ruin it. But im sure there will be disapointments. Other people are waiting for something like the old cartoon, sme are waiting for something like the first movie. And If they are diffrent, people will get disapointed. Well Im not going to. Im going to watch the first season, and learn to like the new Va's. Or with any luck, I will like them from the begining.

Here's my version on the why's...

When the first movie was made by the indies, the funding for it was very minimal. Heck, they didn't even think the movie was going to become such a blockbuster hir for that year! Plus.. they also had dear Jim Henson working on the costume designs and then some.

By the time the second movie rolled around, many things had changed. There were the parents of course, wishing cartoons were more politically correct for some reason (hence the peace, school, and recycling concepts). Then.. since the TMNT were such a big hit, a new movie company called Newline took up the offer to produce the movie. SO yeah, a combination of trying to be more PC, NewLine, and Henson's Creature shop minus Jim... it lacked.

But... TMNT 2 & # has both it's ups and downs. Neither stands up to the first, of course. While TMNT2 bragged about it's chorography and the new and improved animatronic costumes, it lacked with seriousness and ugh... Vanilla Ice! TMNT3 had horrid costumes, tacky jokes and humor, but I liked the change in scenery, more fighting action, and the horses!

So yah.. great to see em taking off again with an older audience in mind again!

Yeah, the third movie got the action back, but as a movie, it wasn't that great.

I actually have no problems with the voices in the movie or the old show (except Leo sounds a little weenie in the movie), and all I hope is that the voices don't sound like the ones in that commercial.

My 2 cents:

TMNT I: Cool film. Not one of the best I've seen, since it still has lots of corny moments, but good. I bought the DVD last weekend.

TMNT II: Wow...I haven't seen it in years. I don't think I remember liking it as much as the first though.

TMNT III: My ONLY memory of TMNT III... It came out in theaters about 5 months after my parents divorced, so I was living with my mom at the time. She promised me, repeatedly, that she would take me to see it. To this day, I still have not seen this movie.

(TRIVIA: In the US, at least, TMNT I made more $$$ than the two sequels combined.)

As for anything you want to know about what the creators of the first movie have done since then, check out: www.imdb.com

Oh, and the whole thing about "parents complaining"...I was 6 when the first movie came out, and my folks had no problem with it. But then again, they also let me watch "Gremlins" and "The Lost Boys" when I was 4, so...
(Hey, I just realized: My 3 favorite movies as a kid *all* had Corey Feldman in 'em. Weird...)

Peace!

Then here's what I thought was funny... many of the TMNT fans go tot he first movie thinking it's gonna be like the cartoons (cause many hadn't seen the comics yet). So they complain about that. Then the second movie comes out, with the attempt to me more like the cartoon... and then more fans complain about it being too cartoony!

I thought the third movie was more cartoony than the second, of coarse introducing Tokka and Rahzar in "Secret of the Ooze" did seem to remind people of a certain other dimwitted pair of mutants.

True. In the third movie, Splinter looked like a Chucky Cheese robot doll (always hiding behind the old train window).

Ug.. yeah... the guys look more like Frogs than Turtles in the last movie. And those beaks, and the big spots, or the pasty green color... *cringe*
