A funny thing about the "unseen episodes" on Volume 1 is that I think it was my fault. When communicating with Kasja whats-her-name at Artisan about the then upcoming DVD, I mentioned my wild theory about missing episodes. So, fortunately, I think I played an important role in getting Volume 1 to NOT be "THE EPIC BEGINS" (by starting the rumor mill, thus getting David Wise to take charge). But, a miscomunication caused them to put the final season eps on there just because they were unaired in a few areas.

the whole European Vacation thing is really confusing me

what do you mean about "The Epic Begins"?
Seem like fun tidbits to know if you can tell us.

Some countries in Europe already had a DVD out, and it was of "THE EPIC BEGINS". That's the 72 minute film-version recut of the 5-ep pilot mini-series. Almost everything about Baxter was cut and lots of other edits were made. Artisan wanted to save money by releasing that, then following it with compilations of 2-4 eps (supposedly until they got tired of doing so). At least that's what they told me back then.

Does anyone know if Artisan/Lions Gate plan to release the entire series on DVD...or just until they feel like stopping?

Are sales of the later volumes still as good as the early ones? One of my worst fears for this series is they suddenly cut the DVD releases in the middle of the series and we don't get any of the later seasons on DVD.

I hope that doesn't happen. Seasons 7-10 were really good and I'd like to see them again.

We were talking about the earliest plans for classic TMNT on DVD. Nobody but the investors wanted that to happen. I told them they wouldn't sell. Then, David Wise (co-writer of the first five eps) threw his weight around when he heard the disappointing news. And, that's how we got our Volume 1 for region 1.

wasn't it discussed on another volume how it did decent on amazon? counting these are budjet titles they are. And counting we went from one release a year to 2 to 3, i think thats a good sign. At least with the Movie i don't think they'll stop next year.

I'm enjoying it a lot, and i haven't seen most episodes, the Red Sky from Vol.1 were fun, i really want the whole series.

Oh alright, I thought that the epic begins would be a bad thing for us. I got confused when you said it was your fault that we didn't get the epic begins, it sounded like it was a bad thing.

haha yeah, the European Vacation episodes were really strange at some points. Though what you mentioned is far from the worst. Artless is by far the worst episode in the original TMNT series.

I just PMed the forum admin the URL to the thread about TMNT on the Lionsgate forums and asked if a TMNT board can be created there and if the concerns in the thread could be forwarded to the right people.
