After reading the brief summary for episodes 25 and 26 I think it's almost certain we'll get a Triceraton and Fugitoid next year. As for Leatherhead, I hope he's in the next series, as I do for Rat King, Savanti and Renet.

As for the seperate lines thing, that is just a rumor at the moment, and even if it does come true it won't be completely seperate lines, more like a sub division of the main line like the Star Trek and Movie Star series that Playmates did in the old line.

No, not really....
(in regards to the "would you rather see extreme sports turtles in the show line?" question)

Really? Cool!
S'long as we get mutants, aliens & robots...

True there, as long as the human character toys are cool. Basically in the old TMNT line human figures really weren't as cool as the mutant animal characters. The Casey Jones toy did kick all kinds of ass though, so human characters can be good as well.

I'll die right here & now if they make Leatherhead, as he appeared in the original B&W comic book series, into an action figure. All I gotta say is he should be taller then Shredder (like 6 inches even) & be like 8" long with snapping jaws, or normal jaws with no springs so the kiddies (& myself) can play with him in the water.

I'd actually like to see a Fugitoid figure done how Peter Laird drew it, with the different arm/leg attachments. That'd rock!

I'm surprised that Savanti & Renet aren't in this season, but then again I'm not sure exactly what issues they work into it. If the turtles find the Utroms in the end of the season (just hypothetically), then wouldn't that be like issue #5? There were micro-series inbetween some of those issues & I think they moved 'em around to fit into the normal season, which works as they really weren't continuity specific to much (I think so anyways).

So, if episodes 25 & 26 are based on issue #5 then the turtles wouldn't even meet the Triceratons, Fugitoid, Renet & Savanti until the second season, right?

::nods:: Thats one of the things that always pushed my buttons about those sub division lines. Take the "Wacky Wild West" for example. They could have had the turtles take a trip back in time to the old west to stop Shredder & Krang or something instead of just having them play dress up. They could have went back & Playmates could have even made up a new mutant characters native to the desert. Like a mutant Scorpion, Gila Monster, Vulture, Prarie Dog, Tyrantula & something else. Maybe an evil mutant Vulture, Tyrantula & Scorpion for the Foot, & a mutant Prarie Dog, Road Runner & Gila Monster for the turtles? Actually that'd be way to many secondary characters...maybe just a mutant vulture or scorpion or tyrantula for the bad guys & we'll call it a series?

I shoulda worked at Playmates, I'd have helped out big time. Then again I would have been like 12 at the time, so oh well.

Yeah they've altered the continuity of the comic to fit in with the series, episodes 2 & 3 are roughly based on Mirage #2, except with the ending altered to team up Baxter and Shredder, in Mirage #3 the TMNT returned home to find Splinter missing and then moved in with April. This was followed by the Raph special when Raph went out on his own and met Casey, and then Mirage #4-7 where they found Splinter and eventually traveled to the Triceraton home world. This was followed by meeting Renet and Savanti, the return of Shredder (which is shown in Episodes 17 & 18 ) and retreat to Northhampton, before the Return To New York.

In the new series the events of #4 happen at the end of the series, as you pointed out, whilst the events of many other later issues come earlier in the series (eg: Return To New York (#19-21) leads to Splinter's disappearance rather than the Mouser attack (#2/3)). If you wanted to get a deeper comparison between the new series and the mirage comics you can compare the brief episode summaries with those of the comics on the official site. Or just ask me, I've made a list of all the similarities I've found between the episode summaries on the site and the comics I've read.

Yeah they have changed the order of the stories somewhat, In the comic the TMNT got back from space in issue #7 and met Renet in issue #8. So because they decided to put the TMNT origin story in the end of the season, Renet and Savant Romero could appear in the second season.

Im still hoping a cliffhanger ending for the season. It would be cool if in the end of the season the TMNT would got zapped away and first episode of second season would be titled "fugitoid". It could be exact conversion of The fugitoid comic... Well that would be a dream come true

What's the fugitoid special like Karpo? I got the early issues in the five collected books from the official site, Vol. 1 contained the first 11 issues and all the one shots except Fugitoid so I've always wondered what happened in it.

So basically an extended version of the origin he told the TMNT in #5. Sounds cool, I'll have to try and find that. Thanks Karpo

i want the new toys to have humans. mutants are supposed to be rare if every toy is a mutant or a robot it loses it effectiveness, plus they may resort to the same marketing ploys they did in the ninties, releasing toys of non-existant characters.

as for the x-treme sports figures i imagine they will be leo on a scooter, don on a bike, mike on a skateboard, and raph w/ rollerblades, i assume this because the song shows the turtles on those.

i'm a little unsure about the battle-ravaged ones, i'll probably get them, but i thought it'd be cool to see them in trenchcoats rubber though, fabric never looks quite right

"Releaseing toys of non-existant characters", you say it like it's a BAD thing.
I'm all for non-existant characters, thats what made the toyline of the past so cool.

I guess they'll be a little better then the other sports turtles of the past then, eh?

::nods:: I could see very soft rubber trenchcoats working well with that. How'd they do it with those undercover turtles?
