Would anyone want to do a story on fat cabbies with horrendous breath who get in your face?

Also, she threw the vase at Vernon because she was under the intense stress of the mutation process and losing her mind.

I don't think April was out of character in this episode. It's all understandable when you consider the circumstances. Now was she just plain stupid checking out that warehouse, getting on the platform and standing there until the machine turned on? Yes. Was she stupid for going back to try to reverse the process herself? Yes. But that's just OT April being OT April.

Food fight

I like the food fight in the warehouse near the seaport. But isn't the entire episode inspired by "The Fly" (maybe even more than "Enter: the Fly").

Not a big fan of this episode, it had its moments though, such as Bebop & Rocksteady finding out the TMNT Lair.

Truly a classic and fun episode for me. I remember getting the action figure as well. I think this episode led to me like of Felicia from Darkstalkers.

The Catwoman from Channel 6

One of my fave episodes! this was quite fun to see April become a mutant and i noticed how much it drew from 1986's The Fly movie.

I was about to ask if you could elaborate on that statement but then I remembered the plot with the teleporter, so yea I kinda see your point.

I thought "Enter:The Fly" was the homage to The Fly. Still it was an interesting episode. The fact April became a fish woman later on and has a number of notable episodes around. The most interesting bits happened in the turtle's lair when Bebop and Rocksteady accidently stumbled upon it and then later when April was sent after Splinter.

April looked kind of cute as a mutated catgirl, who else thought so? i always did thought that when i was 7 and i just adore April even as a catgirl.

but nowhere near as strangely sexy as the same thing that happened to Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) in that Batman TAS episode, remember that one?

Hey Swedenfan,in episode #17 "Catwoman of Channel Six" April while spying on Shredder gets her atoms crisscrossed with a cat and Shredder uses a collar device to control her. April is able to break it and the turtles are able to reverse the process. She is a mutant cat but there was no mutagen required this time. this episode is when Irma first meets the TMNT.

I know that (I saw every episode of that show). I talk about the Batman one that JakeSully mentioned.

I do like April's look as a cat-mutant; it could have made for a good follow-up episode if the series had decided to revisit the theme. It was an unexpected twist seeing her as a crazy, villainous threat. I'm a big fan of classic monster movies like Lon Chaney's The Wolfman, so episodes like this definitely appeal to me.

I've always thought this was a very cool episode, even though some of its internal logic falls apart at a number of points.

How does Shredder know the effects of the Matter Transporter (malfunctioning, no less) are temporary? Why does a mind control collar prolong a temporary mutation as long as its still attached to a person's neck? Are we to assume that Bebop just carries around a rat in his vest pocket for fun (I can believe that, actually)? Why did Shredder have the forethought to install cameras in random alleys so that he could watch April lead the tiger into the sewers but not have the idea to track her movements all the way and determine the location of the turtle's sewer lair? How the heck do the turtles return that tiger to the zoo after locking him in their lair's large sewer cage (the mere existence of such a thing also raises some odd questions as well)? Did that orange cat that got zapped with April exhibit any human personality traits?

There are a good number of major animation mistakes too, most noticeably the inexplicable Leonardo-Donatello swap-out at the climax. April's mutated appearance appears to get off-model quite a bit and her tail mysteriously comes and goes and random points.

I would have liked to see future writers deal with Splinter's fear of cats ("the one creature he truly fears!") similar to how Splinter helped Leonardo to overcome his fear of snakes in "Snakes Alive."

Anyhoo, this episode was a big influence on my Master Splinter fan-comic, "Nothing to Fear." And Powder did an awesome job coloring this piece of fan-art that I drew:

Is it me or does this episode share a little bit in common with The Old Switcheroo? You have a mind transfer machine, plus when the Turtles meet a brown/orange cat on the street, if you listen carefully it says "April" in a talking cat voice. Unlike the Old Switcheroo, we don't see April transitioning back to her normal self on that mind transfer machine.

How did I know that a Catwoman thread started by JakeSully would turn into a, "Wasn't she hot!?" thread....

Nice art above, oldmanwinters.

So many observations, and I have made a few in other threads. Some I had said with the stray Don picked up, and, of course, when Irma becomes full-on protagonist with this episode.

As a cheap plotpoint or plothole, as oldmanwinters noted with the tiger at the Lair among other plotholes, what about the first tiger by the alley near April's place? That tiger wasn't exactly caught or foiled by the Turtles. The segment was filler, surely, but hopefully the equivalent of animal control caught him or her in time. Otherwise..., oops.

Also, did anyone else notice that Cat April actually said "kill" a few times in her dialogue? The show had to be toned down by that point, yet not completely with allowing that to be said. Or after years of viewing animation, hearing "kill" and its variants always surprises.

Oh, I misunderstood which of the two you were asking about. Anyway, its the episode of Batman:The Animated Series which shows Catwoman get infected by a virus that makes her temporarily cat-like. It was a virial strain that was created by Professor Milo that caused this. The episode was called "Cat Scratch Fever" and means it literally.

Your right about the sensors,KM. I honestly had not thought of it. Usually the word "destory" was in place of "kill" and we all knew it meant the same thing.
