Issue #9 of the original proves that the concept can work, but I doubt we will be seeing any "early years" stories any time soon. Of course Tales of the TMNT could have something like that.

Peter Laird said he has NO interest in collaborating with other creators as he did in the past, so the odds of Loeb/sale or anyone else is slim to none. That said, the idea is fascinating... I'm sure they'd do more justice than Mark Martin or Heddon and McWeeney

Actually, I hope there will be some non-Mirage guest artists on some of the new Tales-issues, and maybe (if they can keep with the original spirit, and don't become too silly) some guest writers...
