Like we shouldn't already kiss any hopes of that goodbye with Viacom? They won't even let the Turtles kill anybody in a comic for grown folks.

At least with Disney there's a remote chance the source material will interest them.

I'm just not too crazy about Disney getting their hands on it. I'd rather it be WB, who isn't afraid to get dark and edgy with their comic book movies. Darkest movie I have seen recently from Disney has been probably The Lone Ranger.

Agreed. I think Disney is the best option. Hope someone is paying attention!

Let's put it this way, TMNT III came out in 1993 and it took until 2007 for a 4th TMNT movie. That was 14 years. 14 years.

If this movie bombs, expect to wait a decade or more.

WB can't afford it. They really don't know what they're doing over there.
Oh boy.. Marvel DC fight coming up...yesh...

There's no way in the world, Disney would even think about letting a very serious, dark, grim TMNT movie even pass the drawing boards!

Now that would make me very nervous. It's like, Disney is more consistently decent with their comic book movies... and while WB has produced a few comic book movies that are really, really good and hits a higher peak than the Disney ones, their output ratio of garbage is easily higher than Disney's.

To put another way, TMNT would be treated probably good to OK at Disney... and TMNT could either be treated REALLY GREAT at WB or REALLY SH*TTY, and as such I don't know if I'd want to roll the dice at WB.

Yeah, my cousin is a Batman fan, and she got all pissy with the comics when they killed off her favorite character. But I don't know if that's WB's doing, or just the DC branch.

I guess Disney is their best bet. But it's just, except for a few of the Marvel flicks, most of their movies tend to be underwhelming to me.

Not a big deal

Don't see the big deal about Disney buys TMNT. In fact it would make the franchise more well known. I mean think of all the good Disney can do with this franchise. I say I t were a try TMNT fan than you would be thrilled o the prospect. Best thing to really happen for the Turtles. But alas people think they would ruin the franchise like they think they do to other franchises like Marvel or Star Wars. Sigh.

The batting average at WB has been really low as of late.
They would also, DEFINITELY Change the origin story, and cast improperly.
Look at what happened to Superman. Batflek. The "new 52".
UGH.

Yeah but would Disney let a dark TMNT movie pass?

Hey, I can see that, and If I had my way, TMNT goes to HBO, as I've said before. But WB would be a pretty big gamble, and we just went through that.

I think Disney is smart enough to branch the brand off into two directions - one for kids, one for adults.

Sure, why not? Mirage isn't really inherently "dark," though. I don't know why people equate "a dark TMNT movie" with "like the Mirage TMNT." The biggest thing separating "the Mirage" TMNT" from everything else is not "darkness," just the absence of any kind of reliance on camp, toys, and nonsense. And yeah, they actually use their weapons and kill the bad guys once in a while.

Me either. They did bad things with Star Wars. They took the Clone Wars cartoon off the air and essentially declared 30+ years of Star Wars EU non-canon, I'd be horrified if they got ahold of TMNT.

I used to like Disney, but lately they've started showing signs of becoming a monopoly and I'm wondering if they aren't due for a government break-up soon. Once they get to be a certain size they tend to metastasize to other unrelated areas, so I think it's inevitable.

A Disney movie probably wouldn't be any darker than the first film from 1990. Although we can expect actual good humor.

Disney used to have another branch, Miramax, Touchstone or something like that, that they used as cover to release movies that weren't meant for kids at all. I guess they could pull that branch back down.
