My question here is, if the Kraang really mutated monkeys into people, where the heck did they get the monkeys from???

Maybe the Monkeys were there first, and they were responsible for there evolution. Perhaps they used an early version of the Mutagen, But it was very slow, and it caused the Apes to mutate slowly and turn into hairless humanoids.

Who knows? But I could still believe that, good idea.

I still can't help but think the Kraang are lying. Kurtzman's earliest 'evidence' only goes back to Egyptian times, it shows no cave paintings or anything like that, especially if the Kraang were supposedly out and about like they had been during Egyptian times. Plus it looks really bad on them to have been around since the dawn of humans, because it subtly implies that their technology has been stagnating for millions of years, and that they are actually hiding from their own creations, even as they are supposedly technologically superior. Also for supposedly 'creating' humans, they don't ever anticipate that their creations are getting smarter at an incredibly fast pace, and don't make any move to stop it.

And if humans were the result of their interference, then why don't any humans-tuned-mutants double mutate instead of looking like a 'normal' mutant? Mutants have traces of mutagen in their bodies, and it should remain for quite a while in the bloodline, especially if it's breeding mutant with mutant.

It is very easily possible that the Kraang are lying, especially as it's a known military tactic to spread false information to reduce enemy resistance and moral prior to an invasion. Kraang intend to invade a recently emerging species, and spread false info they know the enemy will have difficulty discerning as false.

There is so many holes in the Kraang-creates-humans stuff, that I wouldn't be surprised if that's another big plot twist in that it's a Kraang lie. I'm throwing it out here that maybe Renet might end up contributing to it (if it is) since she's a known time traveler and all.

I would like to see the series do a Time Travel story, with the Turtles visiting the future, and seeing NYC overrun with Mutants.
But would that even be physically possible? If a human turn mutant and animal turn mutant had same sides like they're both have the same species of wolf and human, would that be even similar enough? I mean a mutant animal would might have a drop of similar human dna but I don't think it would enough. Chimpanzee shared 99% of our dna but we don't have humanzees living among us. The whole dna composition might be totally off in comparison to each other.

If there slight chance of a offspring, the child would have a high chance of being sterile and maybe having disadvantages. Although that would be something that you never seen because half breed heros are always being portray of having the best of both worlds so it would a inversion of a trope.

I don't think you need a offspring to bring them together. I think what could happen is that two groups with one being the human turn mutants meeting the the animal turn mutants but because both of them have the same of species of animal on their side so they both try affiliate with each other because they both assume that the other group has the same origin as they do but they later discover the truth and realize that they're not so different and both parties come to accept the animal and human side.

Or maybe you can have a unique situation where a human that was raise by mutant wolves and a mutant wolf raise by humans fall in love and they adopt a mutant tiger cub or something.

We never really got have a chance to see mutant having children, even it with someone that close to their own kind. I remember a really good fanfic that had Donnie married and had children with a female turtle in Usagi Yojimbo's world and it delve deeply on the ramifications of that union. God, I really wish that I knew the name of that story. It was so good.

I remember now. It was called Misbegotten but the author deleted it.

Oh god. Why? It was so good.

Not a chance in hell. You can breed subspecies to subspecies, you can breed totally different species if they've 'separated' within a certain amount of time don't have a huge amount of genetic differences between them (Tigers and Lions and horses and donkeys) but beyond that, it's very unlikely. Ligers and Tigons can be fertile, but very much more they tend to be sterile. Same with mules.

The human mutant and wolf mutant, even though they look 'alike,' have in their unaltered forms been separated by millions of years. Different genes in each will be altered to produce that mutation, and there is no telling if they would even be altered in the same way to allow them to 'match.' In other words, one group will have genes altered to allow them to speak, while the other might not even have that touched. The other will have genes altered to have fur, while the first might not. One is altered wolf genes, the other is altered human genes. Know what I mean?

But I guess a more realistic way would be the ninja turtles' situation. Maybe a mutant animal being raise by another different mutant animal with maternal instincts.

Maybe the Kraang "created" modern man from early mutagen tests. Or something, personally not a fan of 'it was aliens' theories and fictional origins, it's a bit cheap, and a bit of a ego jerk on how uniqe human's are supposed to be. Not a fan of Prometheous for that, and more reasons of course, but that's a big one.

Considering my novel is about a group of mutated animal/human hybrids in a post apocalyptic world, your post really has me thinking of new ideas and thoughts for my book.

In my world, all the winged hybrids are on their own while the reptiles are together with some mammals, the aquatic hybrids have to stay together in water. None of them eat each other, but they do want to wipe out all the remaining humans so they can rule the world as a new species. Well, they want to gather up all the women...

As for the Kraang, I thought the same thing when they found out that they have been on Earth for a long time. It would be interesting to see what they could come up with if there was a secret society of other mutants.

Hey if evolution is real then why do we need mothers? Think about that!

But how has the ecosystem been effected now with so many dominant apex predator likes us? With so many apex predator, the natural food resources would get depleted pretty quickly. They would be no better then a invasion species like boa constrictor in South Florida. Heck we are practically a invasion species because we cause so many species to go extinct. But at cost of others going extinct, we progress and and our population expands all over the world.

Real mutation are cause by glitches during the earliest egg/fetus development stages which are then inherited to the next offspring. Our mitochondrial dna can only be inherit through the mother and goes all the way to first woman of human kind.

This is slightly off topic but still relates.

I'm currently working on a novel called Infernal Star.
In the story the planet earth can no longer support life so all pregnant woman, and all persons between the age of Newly Born and 25 years are required to board an ark ship called the Aquilla and go forth into space until a new life supporting planet can be found and dubbed Neo-Terra. They drift through space for a number of generations so race and culture are no longer defining points in ones life.

Eventually the Aquilla discovers a life supporting planet. This planet is the Planet of the Infernal Star. Not long after arriving the New Terrans soon discover the planet was inhabited by race of creatues known as the Amalia. Which is a sentiant race that feel like they have been pulled out of human myth and fantasy.

Some of the humans feel that they should learn to get along with the Amalia and learn from them. Others feel that this is their planet now and the Amalia should be removed from in in one way or another.

In turn the Amalia feel that the out worlders are a threat to them and want them killed off before they destroy their way of life. While others feel that perhaps the out worlders could learn to living in peace with them.

One of the things I've debated with this story is the introduction of more humoid fantasitcal creatures such as Elves, Dwarves, and Angels. Should these creatures already be apart of the Amalia, or should they be by products of a couplings between humans and Amalia?

I personally feel that creating hybrids into a world feels like a cheat and is too common place for nowadays.

If you want some suggestions you should take a look at these essays for a good measure.

There also one that is not on there that details about keeping them alien.
There are some really insightful stuff.
