I think it was confirmed that Mikey will have a crush on Renet, and she's voiced by Ashley Johnson who has voiced other love interests opposite Greg Cipes.

As for that woman, I definitely think she'll show up again or will be mentioned again. They didn't just do a quick thing either and let the slide stay there for a few minutes before Jack switched it.

In the other thread, I joked about her being Mona Lisa. It was the first lizard lady I could think of in the Turtleverse. Personally, before stepping into this thread, I viewed Raph and Mikey's reactions as genuine surprise, which is why I posed the question over why they didn't show everyone's reactions. I was including the Mutanimals as well.

I only joked about it being Mona Lisa because Raph gasped. He was enamored. lol. I also thought about the painting he did of the lizard lady. It would be an interesting twist if they were doing that to show that maybe Raph, compared to his brothers, is attracted to actual anthropomorphic reptilians as opposed to humans or mammals.

I was kind of hoping, although it coukd be a possibility still, for Raph not to fall for anyone so that he could remain the one to make those comments regarding the others, but atthe same time, I could see it actually happening and Raph going out of his way to deny it to others and himself. The comedic potential would be high imo. lol

This thread brings up many interesting points, but the initial post did indeed make my day! LOL!

I do like the point made of how Raph painted the green girl on the Van and then POOF here's a green lizard girl and Raph gawking at her. I do have to admit I did also think Mona Lisa immediately. Also Kurtzman being a Fugatoid is definitely a possibility.

Really? Why do people think Raphael's gay in this version? I didn't get that at all. He even makes that comment about how he thinks Karai is hot in an evil way. That alone tells me he's attracted to girls.

I should clarify, I personally never felt he was gay. I just keep reading other people saying that and I was curious as to why. I do feel that he keeps his mind off of the idea of romance since he never believed they had a chance at love. Now that he's gotten a look at a hot mutated lizard woman he probably has changed his mind.

I think it'd be easier for Raph to believe that he might be more accepted for who and what he is by someone who's not completely human than by someone who is. Donnie and Leo have a certain amount of optimism, but unless it involves his ability to kick a bad-guy's butt, Raph is definitely the pessimist of the team.

Confronting him with a flesh-and-blood female he finds himself liking would probably evoke a similar reaction to that of our good friend, the Grinch.



I can definitely see the wife/girlfriend-turned-into-a-mutant angle, but I can also see Kurtzman falling for her as she was. She could've been a spy who agreed to acquire information for him- he has to have obtained that knowledge from some outside source- and over the course of their work relationship, they ended up becoming romantically involved. Stranger things have happened.

I see what your saying. I feel like the show just hasn't given a love interest to Raph yet. Donnie's into April, Leo's into Karai, Mikey doesn't care about chicks yet, and Raph I think (as you said) hasn't had the chance yet. I think we know his type ;P granted the whole painting the sexy green chick on the van. If the show introduces Mona Lisa then boom. Green reptile chick and Raph will be a done deal! I hope they bring her in! That'll be so fun!

EDIT: I'm not that far in the IDW series but I think Alopex and Raph have something going on. That would be interesting if the show put her in. But...personally, I think Mona Lisa is a better choice.

I actually like this theory. It would also satisfy my wanting to know how Kurtzman has been able to get all of that information on the Kraang without being directly connected to them.

Something is definitely going on with Alopex and Raph... be it not much at the moment but a bit of harmless flirting really, but they certainly seem to have chemistry.

I'd be pretty happy if she turned out to be Mona Lisa, but if she is I hope they give her a bit of a more interesting back story then in the 80's cartoon. I could certainly see a sort of Kurtzman spy thing going on seeing he has to be getting much of his intel on the Kraang from somewhere after all. The photo does seem to portray her as a bit of a "catwoman" in a sense she looks mischievous as if she would play both sides in as semi antagonistic depending on what perhaps benefited her situation or entertained her the most. I tend to think Raph would be sort of into a bad girl... A bad girl that's not Karai anyway... if that makes sense.

Well, technically, Mona Lisa is the ONLY "green lizard lady". (And why do some fans take her as a salamander?? Salamanders are not usually green, and she clearly had a more reptilian build. She just had webbed hands and feet, which some aquatic lizards do.)

Also, the girl on the van was just WEARING green. Her face was clearly human in the close-up. Just a minor note there, but it keeps coming up as if she IS green. She's not.

Right. I see that too. But I hope they do something different. We've already seen the scenarios that play out with the "bad girl" type due to Karai. I kinda hope Mona Lisa is a bit like the 80s cartoon. She was flirty and she seemed to like Raph from the start. Wouldn't it be cool if a female love interest was finally, for a change, really into one of the turtles? xD It would make for some good comedy but I feel like that's probably gonna be Mikey and Renet's thing. Actually, you do raise an interesting point. That would be nice to see someone crushing on one of them. Raph would be perfect only since he would probably be too obliviously pessimistic to catch it for a while if that was the case.
