  3. The antique shop and the farmhouse.
  4. The general personalities (although, yes, too often flattened).
  5. Most of the characters who weren't one-offs
  6. By my count, Splinter starting out as a rat is actually more common than him starting out as Yoshi. He is the reincarnation of Yoshi in IDW but he still mutated from a rat.
  7. The love triangle from the origin, and of course the origin itself.
Okay, I'll take issue with the following (color coded for ease of differentiation):

April's background is widely varied; half of the main iterations (Fred Wolf, Archie, Nick) have her as a reporter, not a scientist.

And Splinter starting as a rat, let me count...

Yoshi: Fred Wolf, Archie, IDW, Nick
Rat: Mirage, 4Kids

So I'm gonna have to say "nope", Splinter is usually Yoshi first, though it's one of the few issues to almost break even.

Northampton and Second Time Around are consistent across almost all versions, though; I'll give you that one.

And the love triangle origin of Saki (Nagi), Yoshi, and Tang Shen is most always used, except Fred Wolf. So yes, that one, too. (I don't think Nagi/Saki is worth nitpicking for this exercise here.)

If you're going to differentiate Fred Wolf from Archie in that way, you might as well throw a Dreamwave vote to the latter there.

Archie actually DID stuff and became hugely different from Fred Wolf. Dreamwave was just seven issues of "why the frak is this even a thing?"

EDIT: Although it is a fair point that it branched off from Fred Wolf. Same origin. Still... even removing Archie, it's still 3 to 2.

Splinter did not just start out as a rat in Mirage and 4Kids, this also holds true for the 90's movies and the PD movies. I guess Next Mutation kinda sorta take place in the movie continuity, and I think we can assume Splinter was always a rat in the 2007 movie as well. And if we're going to count divergent continuities, throw in Image.

I'm not sure how to count IDW Splinter, he is supposedly the reincarnation of Hamato Yoshi and Shredder treats him as if he is indeed Hamato Yoshi, but he was still grown from a regular rat and whatever Krang was talking about in #50 makes me question what's actually going on.

So, Splinter starts out as a human in two TV shows and a divergent spin-off. While he starts out as a rat in the original comic book continuity, a divergent comic, both/three movie continuities and two TV shows. And as I explained, there's one comic book series where it's somewhat ambigious.
This leaves us with what? 3 human Splinters, 3, 4 or 5 rat Splinters and 1 ambigious Splinter?

As for April, I find it somewhat amusing that, aside from Archie, the movies are the only continuities that stick to that idiotic reporter angle. Edit: Nick April as a reporter? Where did you get that from? She's a high school student.
