Would you like to see the TMNT crossover with the X-Men?

I'm not familiar with Daredevil beyond his name. What would make a cross over between him and the TMNT work so well?

They have the same origin story. Daredevil was the boy hit by the cannister near the eyes at the same time the Turtles' bowl was shattered. Plus the whole Hand/Foot thing and Stick/Splinter. It kind of writes itself.

Hum... could DD have been the biggest inspiration for the creation of TMNT? Or is that just a coincidence?

Yeah, DD is an undeniable source of inspiration, I mean really, who in their right mind would deny that a Ninja Clan called the "Foot" isn't a reference to a Ninja Clan called the "Hand"?

Hum... somehow, I suddenly feel a bit "guilty", I guess, for never having read the comic where TMNT draws a lot of inspiration from. Not saying I'm going to read tons of issues of it, but perhaps I should at least read a little bit of DD sometime...

Peter was a huge Marvel fanboy growing up. You have to remember Kevin and Peter were comic book fans themselves as teens and young adults, they were basically fanboys. When they created TMNT it was basically like published fanfiction, just in 1984 there was no internet.

I mean, of course two young up-and-coming American comic book artists and writers in 1984 had grown up reading Marvel and DC. Characters like Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, etc. are pretty ancient at this point. And everyone draws inspiration from somewhere/someone else.

Ronin was beyond amazing. Super inspiring.

But yeah, you look at something like Ronin then look at even a few pages of "Ronin: Book Two" or The Dark Knight Returns -- also amazing -- and then Dark Knight: The Golden Child or even The Dark Knight Strikes Again... and you get a very good sense that this is not the same man, remotely. Whether that's years of drug abuse, him becoming radicalized in some ways, I have no idea.

Oh, absolutely.

Frank Miller's art has definitely gone in a very strange direction as he has aged. And his writing has occasionally produced some strange $#!( too. "I'm the GODDAM BATMAN!"

His Daredevil run is, of course, legendary though. I count Daredevil #191 as one of the greatest single-issue comics of all-time. Up there with Superman Annual #11.

I’m making it a mission to read Ronin

I completely agree. Strikes again was pretty horrific. It has been quite a while since I have read it, maybe I need to go back and read it again, but holy smokes it was nothing compared to the dark Knight returns. The master race was actually pretty decent. I will admit.
