I can't believe Shredder's back!! That's so awesome! Although I'm assuming this will be the last time we will get to see him in any form. But at least it will span two issues.

Cool, like when a comic could tell a whole interesting story in one issue

Being a 1337 h4X0r I took the liberty of gazing at some of the pages that Rick didn't actually link to here... Nice stuff.

The obvious question comes to mind... should classic stories be revisited? Particularly Return to New York, one of the baddest of them all? Dark Empire (and especially DE 2) blunted the impact of Star Wars by having a storyline in which the emperor returned... and it was lame.

But from what I've seen of this I think we may have a real winner on our hands. We shall soon see...

Woah, that is the most ORIGINAL look for Shredder EVER, this will be a great comic, and the artwork truly captures the spirit of the original MIRAGE issues whilst creating a new, enduring style.

I agree that the action and the storyboarding in those panels were great. Even those maggotty worms.. ewww.

But personally, I think the TMNT in this remind me of how the Image TMNT were drawn. That kind of makes it bittersweet, since the Image comic wasn't all that popular. But the style Rick uses is fairly characteristic of the styles popular in superhero comics that Image offers. I think Rick's work has much better details and inking than Image, but prolly just as good as Lawson and Laird. Or LeSean. All of them have a kind of unique style a person either loves or doesn't.

Their faces do look a bit odd in some of the artwork but there is some very nice detail as well.

doood...

I am very, very impressed with this stuff.

I can't wait until this arch comes out. Looks to be awesome.

Although, as a Mikey fan, I have to say that that scene where Mike saves Leo (who many hail as the "uber-turtle") from that big sewer-monster-thingy was pretty funny.

Man, talk about overreaction.

Anyway, you can bet that the Shredder's "return" will be a non-event. Probably a flashback or an imposter.

I think I've pretty much figured it out

*possible spoiler*

shredder worms take over the shark, causing it to become the Shredder so to speak. Seeks out TMNT and stalks them in the sewer.

Is that it? meh, we shall see.

Well... I saw the sneak preview pics, and while it is drawn in an interesting style... I don't approve of the turtles looking ugly. This guy clearly enjoys drawing monsters and that's fine, but he got carried away and drew the turtles to look like ugly monsters too.
