I know, they're taking their masks off, I was so excited when I read that. They hardly ever did that in the old cartoon.

Let's see...

They took their masks off when they went to sleep.

In "April Foolish," when the security personnel at the costume ball sealed all the exits and asked everyone to remove their masks, the Turtles happily obliged as well.

They also took their masks off whenever they were in their winter clothes (down coats and wool hats).

That's all I can remember.

I thought the mask thing was interesting... They lose their pupils when the masks are on, but they get 'em back when the masks are off. I think it's cool. Yo Mike, I'll post about your interview sometime tomorrow. I've got a short amount of time to update a neglected website.

well, if it's so close to the comics, then why there is no death? What is going to happen to shredder? And the pupil thing is same in mirage. They have pupils when their bandanas are off.

Well, they can't make this exactly like the comics. And I think that would be redundant anyway. They might be able to imply death, but they definitely couldn't have it on screen. Besides, I think it would add to suspense if Shredder "just disappeared", like they couldn't find his body or something. Then he could come back.

Oddly, I didn't even notice the pupil thing in the comics until re-reading my Donatello one-shot yesterday.

Well i remember it cause im reading volume 1 every day! Well i think they could pull of a same kind of death like in the first issue. Nothing is really shown, just explosion and piece of his armor.

Yeah.. that's my point. Tryingto recall instances when the Turtles aren't wearing there masks in the old cartoons are rare! Same with the movies.

That's what I liked about the comics. They seem so realistic/down to earth. Like most 'super hero' types, they aren't wearing their gear 24/7. The fight face, and then the everyday face.
