Pretty funny episode. Most of the jokes worked, from Donny's woosh and shift, to Mike's chucks snapping and hitting Raph. I also liked Mikey making fun of April's 'You can survive one day without your weapons' line and the subtitle joke.

It was nice how they made their own stuff as well, Ninja's are masters of their environment and all that.

Can't say I was all that big on the story though. Most of the stuff bored me. And since when can April fight? At least show the Turtles training her in self defense a little bit in an earlier episode or at the begining of this one while the Turtles work on the store before she turns into Jungle Girl.

YOU SOLVED THE BOX. WE CAME! NOW YOU MUST COME WITH US. TASTE OUR PLEASURES...!!!!!

I kinda liked this episode, but I can't say I thought it was extremely great. A lot of these filler eps are way too cliched for me...this was no exception. (Hence my voting for option #3, though I think others have/will do so because they like the quotes.) I think I saw an episode of Justice League that was A LOT like this one just a few weeks ago...except in that one Superman also had to deal with wolves and eventually met up with future Vandal Savage... Plus it had the whole backdrop of the destruction of the world and the death of Superman to deepen its subject matter. This was like a simple vacation in bugville ep, with lost adventurer Uncle Frank (I know his name was August...) in the shadow of memory. Meh.

Still, I kinda liked it, if only for that song and seeing Jungle April. I hope we get a figure of that...

A few thoughts/problems...

If the mud completely covered the Turtles' skin and made it appear brown, why did their carapaces and shells retain their normal colors, though still muddied up (as evidenced by the lumpy lines)? Why did their belts remain totally untouched?

As I recall (but I'm really tired...), the first wasp didn't fire its stinger at all. So how did Donnie know that they'd do it if Raph made them angry?

That crap about the place bringing out the "jungle girl" in April didn't make much sense (though I guess they could always explain later that she was "birthed" from the puzzle cube, or was found with it as an infant...), though I've gotta say I liked the rugged look.

And is it me, or was stuff breaking WAY too easily in that shop...as if the writers just needed it to break? That suit of armor was so heavy that Raph and Casey TOGETHER had trouble with it...so I have a hard time believing that it would be light enough for Casey to stumble across the room with it and give it enough momentum to smash into that cabinet. There were other problems along those lines. And I don't really see why she took their weapons. Don's and Leo's kinda made sense, since they're long and could easily knock something over, but Mike's and Raph's are generally out of the way... Meh.

Oh, and those bastards removed Uncle Frank's book from the treehouse! Now what if some other poor sod ends up in that alternate dimension? Here Frank was nice enough to leave the book behind to help them out, and they didn't extend the courtesy to the next sad sack that finds him/herself in jungle hell. The Turtles and April are selfish.

Alrighty, I'll stop there.

I agree with everything you said, Wes. A lot of the stuff was cliched and obviously just used a plot device, instead of things flowing naturally. A lot of stuff seemed forced.

Agreed, Taloniss. And I hadn't seen cqb101's post until I finished writing my previous one...I've gotta say, he/she was dead on. Except Aliens had ALIENS and The Lost World had DINOSAURS...both of which are cooler than giant wasps with giant paralyzing stingers. With wounds of that size, the Turtles should've had more to worry about than poison.

Well, I knw Alines had alines and stuff, but they are referred to as bugs by Hudson at one point(I think it was Hudson) and the whole thing with the queen. Now that I think about it, this epsiode reminded me a lot of the turok games, too.

I thought it was alright, not bad, worth-watching. I liked how they showed a different side of Raph. lol, I wouldn't say scared of bugs, but just creeped out. I also thought it was hilarious when Mikey gets stung by the queen hornet, and Leo comes to save him, only to be stung also lol. I thought Raph was gonna save the day since he hates the bugs and was stung earlier, it would only be right for him to kill the queen. But he gets stung too, and it was April who got the honor of momentarily stopping the queen. I thought when the turtles and April were coming back, that the queen would end up going too. That would be a build up for an ep in season 3 for sure, bc she'd just find a place and lay eggs, which would spourt more hornets to rebuild her nest.

Yeah, Casey would be something between Tarzan and George of the jungle! Maybe he can befriend a chimp, too!.....that is if there where any other animals besides those huge insects.

Good episode but the episode Synopsis was just a little wrong. It was not April’s father that the puzzle cube belonged to but her uncle. Still I liked this episode nice that April had an episode. Of course now we have another filler episode that needs to be followed up. Her Uncle could be in a countless number of possible dimensions now, making for even a multipart follow up if they wanted.

Raph hates bugs? Maybe it is a good thing Baxter did not turn into a fly in this show after all.

One last thing did April impale the Queen with her spear? It sure looked that way. I’m just not sure if I saw that last part right or now.

Not the best episode but a nice little filler episode staring April. I guess all members of the O’Neal family are named after months. Wonder what her father’s name is.

Very awesome episode. It was strange seein' Leo without his strap. And even stranger seein' April doin' all that action-ness. Man, she really oughta ditch that bun. She was lookin' much better with the full ponytail.

I don't think there's any need to worry about that, unless some sap breaks into April's place and steals the mini puzzle cube.

April looking for her uncle Aggie will probably be a storyline in Season 3. I loved the RAph hating bugs thing. That shows something RAph hates.

IT took them 30 episodes to have April's shop rebuilt. Casey and the turtles haven't changed with their clumsyness. When will Casey and April's relationship turn into romance. She should be more grateful to him after he saved her from Hun in Shredder Strikes back part 2

Wait to go april. Now see what you did miss "CAn't you do without your weapons for one day". The turtles had to make their own after fighting the bugs.

My predictions of April narrating were right!

True, but one thing that always annoyed me about the old cartoon was that April was always getting into trouble on her own and needed the Turtles to rescue her every time. The whole damsel-in-distress thing got old after a while.

She got the Queen right in the throat.

I think we should get a Jungle Girl April figure with Spear tossin' action!
That would be sweet.

I gotta agree with Raph. I hate bugs too.

I kinda liked the song, but it reminded me of somethign I woulda heard off of the pokemon soundtrack! They showed blood in this episode! wow! I can only imagine a lawsuit in the future. "OK you be the Queen Bee, I'll be April, now stand still..." pretty good filler, alot better than say, Junklantis! I didn't like how everythign kept on breaking and April kept her cool, I flipped out when my friend broke the tail off of my splinter figure for crying out loud! The queen Latifia joke was wicked funny, probaly one of the best jokes of season two. !
