If/when attachments do come lose, I recommend tucking them into the envelope in the back of the book, which houses the reprint of TMNT #1 and the poster. I'm using it for that purpose, along with stashing any other TMNT memorabilia I pick up this summer (including a nice thank you letter from Peter Renaday, the voice of Splinter).

Out of curiosity, do you know how sales of this book have been so far? I'm honestly curious how much this book sold to the general public outside the hardcore TMNT fandom.

It deserves to sell a lot.

My editor hasn't given me exact figures, but he's told me that the publisher is very pleased with sales. It's performing very well on Amazon.com, and I can say that from my own experience, I saw the book sell out at both the Cartoon Art Museum's launch event and at my publisher's booth at the San Diego Comic-Con. We got a split-second shot of the book's cover on The View yesterday, so hopefully that will lead to some more sales at actual bookstores--lots of mothers and grandmothers in that viewing audience, and they're always looking for presents.

And for those of you who've asked, I've got baby bills to pay, so I'm finally ready to start selling signed books and bookplates. Here's the information:

First up is the bookplate signed by me, Kevin Eastman, and Peter Laird (who drew a quick head sketch on each bookplate) and a copy of the book with a TMNT character illustration by me (your choice--any Turtle, any style, or any supporting character). Yours for $125 plus shipping and handling ($15 in the U.S., more for international orders). Write to me at andrewfarago(at)hotmail.com for more information! I'll probably sell 20 at that price, and will have to charge a bit more once I've gone through my initial stash of books and have to order more from my publisher.

If you've already bought the book and want the Eastman/Laird/Farago bookplate, I'll be selling those for $60 in the U.S., $65 outside for international orders. The "just me" bookplate will be $11 in the U.S., $13 for international orders.

Thanks!

Hey Andrew... I'd be interested in the bookplate signed by you Eastman and Laird (only) because I already own the wonderful book. I'm very shortly leaving the country for my honeymoon. Could you hold one for me until August 18?

Aww, the price for the 3 signature plate is high for me. I wasn't willing to go more than the books price for it. Wish I could get it. I understand the rarity of the signatures and all too. Oh well.

Where would you guys recommend ordering the book from to ensure it's shipped with proper packaging?

I don't buy books from Amazon anymore because I've had too many orders arrive with severe damage in the past. I've had TMNT tpbs arrive bent because they were just tossed in a bubble mailer and nice hardcovers like this one arrive with the entire spine cracked because they were placed in a box way too big with nothing to keep the book from bouncing around. I'd like to try and avoid that with this one.

Thank you in advance.

I'm selling the book at a premium, with an Eastman/Laird bookplate and a custom sketch, and I'm packing the books with bubble wrap and sending them via US Priority Mail for $125 plus shipping.

The guaranteed way to get a dent-free copy is going to your local bookstore or comic shop and ordering it directly from them or buying it off the shelves. I don't know about other online services like Barnes and Noble or Half-Price Books, but other people on the forum may have some thoughts on those options.

Blips, if you have a Hastings around you can special order pretty much everything TMNT there. That's how I get my stuff and I've never had anything come to me damaged.

Fewer than 200. They aren't individually numbered, but I kept the number low so that I wasn't taking up too much of Kevin's or Peter's time.

I know why this happend, but ill never understand it. I went to Barnes & Nobles to pick the book up today at lunch. However they wanted $50 for it when their website has it for $32. I just love how their stores wont price match their website.

I guess I will have to go the amazon route to pick this up. It's something I really would like to add to the collection.

This just arrived for me so I look forward to perusing it when I have some free time. It's still sealed up for now.

just got home from my Local comic shop who just so happens to be having 30% off everything in the store bc they are moving. Seen this sitting on the back wall and instantly bought it. After what happened with Barnes & Nobles this week trying to get this book, it was an easy choice to spend the 35 on it now.

I'm about 50-75% of the way through now (trying to make it last for the first reading). It's excellent. At first I thought £22 approx was a bit steep, but for the size and quality of book it's a bargain.

I just got a copy of this for my birthday, absolutely first class. The book is gorgeous!!! I can't wait to read it all properly and I'm so framing that gorgeous poster ASAP, it needs to be on the wall. Thank you so much for producing this @Andrew Farago, it's epic.

Finished the book last night - really is very nice, brilliant pictures and some very interesting and well-written text. I even learned new things about the property.

Having read the entire thing I can now say with confidence that it was well worth the cash. If I had to include a couple of minor complaints I'd say that the section on 4kids was too short, and I'm worried that the pages might start coming apart in future. The paper is great quality but I'm worried about the binding of my copy.

All of that aside, it's a fantastic resource and I might give it to a relative to read, as he's a dormant TMNT fan and I'd like to get him fully back into the franchise. My compliments to everyone who made this book possible.
