They were part of the Platinum Dunes team on the last 2 Turtles films, credited as "Creators/Visionaries."

The guy literally went broke financing this (I checked a FB page of theirs & I remember him saying he did some crazy sh*t like spend his ENTIRE life savings & might have even took out a loan or second mortgage) under the foolish assumption that Nick/Viacom would pick it up once he had something full to present them with. He was immediately & coldly turned down with a simple ass "We don't accept solicitations" response & has been enraged ever since.

Maybe he can take some consolation in seeing Beebop and Rocksteady on the big screen, regardless.

If they really went broke financing what was essentially a fan project turned graphic novel, I don't know what to say. And Viacom shooting them down immediately was obvious, don't they know how real life business works?

As much as I hate the new movies, I don't at all believe this fan project to be anything better.

Just read back a few pages. Damn.

Why does Viacom let this crap go the distance? Shouldn't they be slapping guys like this with cease and desist letters?

I for one am glad that they don't. We've gotten some amazing things out of fans (from Andrew's comics to the Casey Jones film) & I hope that trend continues.

haha I remember this mess of a project, I mean the idea wasn't necessarily bad, it's just how they went on about it. They tried to come off as official and that their project was the vision. It could've been a good fan project where fans supported it instead of pissing of the fandom with their delusions.

I'm a big supporter of fan art, but not of profiting from Fan art.

l think that's the line.

I still cannot comprehend losing thousands of dollars in essentially producing fanart. Its not like the guy mass produced 100 issues or something similar to what Andrew does with his printed comics, these guys didn't even send anything to the printer.

Its essentially fanart comics. And they somehow sunk thousands of dollars into this? By that logic anyone who produces a piece of fanart for anything would be broke, but that's not the case.

You don't do math?

If the dude was paying 400 bucks a page, x 20 pages, then a print run, which is usually upwards of 1000 bucks, etc, it doesn't take long to get up around 10 grand.

Not Huge money, but substantial.

Watching that video, I don't imagine the dude's life savings was much beyond that.

There wasn't even that much script put into it, when you look at it.

This project could actually get done now through AI relatively easy now.

Poor guy, please STOP attacking him. He only hopes to make a good TMNT movie. He didn't mean to trick anyone

So I hit up Luke Keith. He did provide everything that existed. Whether we like it or not it probably shouldn't go into the ether. So here it is:
