I think that Saki is neither ghost nor utrom. I bet he stole this incredible force, betrayed his teachers ... as usual...
Oroku Saki is Oroku Saki

I wonder if they make the third season?
I always believed that there would be a new TMNT cartoon

A while back someone said something about a ghost that hasn't left it's body so then he could have a physical form

Saki has to be a living humanoid being, or else they wouldn't be able to clone him. He's just not mortal is all I'm going to say!

I guess I wasn't the only one shocked but... Rurouni Shredder!?!? WTF? He said he topled the Tokugawa. That was in the 1860s. Is Shredder even human!!???
No. Actually, Shredder said he used the sword to give power to the Tokugawa family (which is a historically amusing statement). They came to power around 1600.

Well.. I was thinking they cloned him from his old body from the past. Not the present one you see in the cartoon. *shrug*

Have anyone considered that Saki/Shredder could be some relation to the 'Entity' from the 'Notes from the Underground' story arc? After all, there still is some mystery about him. And we know that the 'Entity' is not a Utrom, but could possibly have originally been some servant class or something for them.

Good point, good point... I wouldn't like it if there was nothing else to that guy's story, it felt incomplete...

Prehaps Saki is just like that guy. Whatever that guy is. Alien? Or just really old? Supernatural?

I would prefer it if Saki had supernatural origins as opposed to extraterrestrial.

I think there has to be more to that character also. He was way to mysterious to just be a throw away character. And we know that there were a ton of these guys, who overtime died or abandoned the city. Until it was just the one guy left. So there are a lot of question about, just what happened to all these guys. And just who are they.

I hope there's more about them... it seems kind of stupid to have three episodes dedicated to him and the mysterious city but give so little information about it.

actually i doubt that guy had anything to do with shredder's past since when he found those remains he was completely uninterested. that's why that underground foot project got cancelled.

But if the Guardian's think he's dead they must not know he's immortal. How would they not know that? Maybe he became immortal. Remeber when Splinter said only a master could weld the sword of Tengu but with a terrible price? When Shredder picked up the sword it's energy went though his body and he started talking crazy. The sword of Tengu toke his soul. And what he was saying were the memories of the other poul souls who fell pray to the swords curse. Now without a soul Shredder is some type of undead.

i think you guys are getting way to far into this whole shredders not dead thing.

Obviously he wont be dead, but it's a kids show....it's going to be alot more easily explained then the explanaitions you're coming up with...just watch...

my bet, just a clone.

Even a clone, can't survive decapitation.

Yeah but if Shredder were some type of ghost or Demon how do you clone that?
Because even if he is a "ghost or demon", he obviously has a physical body from which DNA could be sampled. Furthermore, remember Splinter's comment on the Sword of Tengu? They're obviously not going to shy away from mixing science with the supernatural.
Especially, since a Jiang-Si is a ghost that still has it's body! And, being a corpse, his body's DNA might be a little deteriorated with time and death. Hence the mutations and deformities!

This Saturday's episode, "Lone Raph & Cub" sounds like it won't be focusing much on Shredder. All it says is, "Raphael has an adventure involving a kid on the run from mobsters." Could be another side episode that'll lead up to the last two eps of season 2! I dunno. With all this talk of what Shredder might be, I'm very curious to find out!

The full synopsis of the episode is this:

24.) LONE RAPH AND CUB: With Splinter mysteriously vanished last episode, the Turtles are feeling frustrated, not knowing where to start looking for him. Impatient with strategizing, Raph heads off on his own, and runs into a solo adventure involving a kid pursued by mobsters. Initially butting heads, Raph and the kid hammer out a trusting relationship just in time to rescue the kid's mother.

Yes, it's a standalone episode. But it definatly still deals with the storyline. It's just a character development episode. And atleast we'll see the turtles trying to figure out how to find Master Splinter.

There may be some hints of what's to come towards the end of the episode. Probably not, but I'll hope so anyway.
