Sweet episode to the say the least.

April and Casey sharing a kiss was really cool.

Was the quote that Mikey said to the Jhanna from Army of Darkness?

Klatu Barata Nikto! I think it was that...

Yeah it was a little different. It was a light hearted little short, that's why I didn't mind the eyes being rounder. Strangely reminiscent of something that would have been in the old toon....

It's originally from the sci-fi classic The Day the Earth Stood Still. It was a command to keep Gort from destroying the world.

I was dancing around my living room going, "Donnie has a girlfriend, Donnie has a girlfriend..." hehe. Poor Donnie, everytime he shows any interest in a girl they leave. And what was with the hair? That was weird. Her translator thingy was cool though!

And Leo....wow, Leo's just scaring me right now. Before he would have probably willingly raced his brothers to the top of the mill, but now he's just like, "Nah...I'll sit here on my log."

LOL, poor Casey can't cook. And Splinter sounded thouroughly annoyed when Casey was 'hinting' at him to go to bed.

The words in Army of Darkness were Klaatu Varrada Nikto! Ash messes up on the last word (Nikto) when he had to retrieve the Necronomicon. That caused the Deadites to awake. There's a difference. I have an AoD comic book where Wise Man says "Barrada" instead of "Varrada." I thought was kinda strange that the writer changed the wordin'. That's great that they made a reference to a movie I haven't seen. At least I know about it. Anyways enough with the ramblings. Onto my opinion...

...I recorded this episode cuz I went shootin' today and I watched it like three or four hours ago. I liked the action and the funny moments. I haven't read the comic of this episode so hopefully I can get my hands on it. How much did they change it by? I liked the fight between Jana and Moraia. It was intrestin' to see those vixens duel it out. Can I say that word? I'll change it if it isn't allowed. I'm gald the Turtles were just about healed. They fought better then they did last episode. I see that Donny wants to get together with Jana. He was lucky to get a sample of her hair. I dunno what that means. It was probably just somethin' to remember her by. I imagine Jana'll pop up again and Don'll be a happy camper. Those monsters were crazy. I liked how the Turtles took care of 'em. Looks like Casey is gonna have a better relationship with April. I take it Veronica Taylor and Marc Thompson like to have their characters have romantic discussions and things of the like. I wonder when April and Casey are gonna get married? That's somethin' I'd like to see. This episode was excellent. I give it a five out of five. Next week's episode looks kinda confusin'. Does anyone have more details on it?

All the lefts and rights I'm using are referring to the character's left and right, not the viewer's, just so I won't totally confuse everyone..

Quote:
I CHECKED THE EPISODES AND LEO WAS SQUARLY KICKED IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS BACK BY SHREDDER.
Welllll... it's hard to tell. You actually don't see the point of contact; just a bright flash (symbolizing a hit) and then Leo flying off-screen away from the Shredder's knee. Actually, the wound in his carapace seems a bit too high to have been caused by that shove, but what else can it be? I guess it could just be a general "we don't know where it came from but they all got pretty beat up so why not a gouge there?" kind of thing (we didn't see how *all* their obvious injuries occurred, like Mike's right leg, and there were some I thought should be there that weren't, like Don's left shoulder where the Shredder bashed him, and he practically stepped on Mike, not to mention Leo's stab wound, when the bandages were off! Should have gouged his plastron or something).. Or maybe it happened when the Shredder scooped Leo up, and Karai blocked his strike at him, although I didn't think the blades actually touched him.

Quote:
KARAI'S STAB WOUND WAS IN LEO'S LEFT SIDE AND HE WAS BANDAGED ON THE LEFT SIDE, ALTHOUGH NOT AS HEAVILY AS THE RIGHT SIDE. ALSO AT TIMES IT SEEMED THAT HE WAS HEAVILY BANDAGED ON HIS LEFT SIDE ASWELL. THERE IS ANIMATION INCONSISTANCY HERE.
It seems pretty consistant to me, except.. there was a scene in the trial where the ink & paint people accidentally switched Raph and Leo's skin and mask colors, so that might be what you saw. Leo and Raph are of course bandaged in different places, so that would throw everything off. Anyway, Leo's got the most bandages around the shoulder that was stabbed, and a little more around the gouge in the carapace, and around his upper right arm.

How To Confuse Everyone: miscolor a character. At least it's more obvious because they appear to have switched places because of the miscolor. See the middle shot:

About that third pic... I always wonder why Raph looks just as dismayed as Leo when the Utroms pronounce the sentence for Karai and Dr Chaplain.. *blinks*

Quote:
Klatu Barata Nikto! I think it was that...
Yeah... of course, as a Transformer fan, I really wanted him to say "bah weep grahnah weep ninny bon", but I don't think the writers are 80's children, anyway. (Klaatu barada nikto... how classic. They named some Star Wars aliens and races after those words, too )

Quote:
I really thought that Jhanna was going to give Don a kiss on the cheek or something... not a chunk of hair but well at least if he want to check on her DNA or something....
Quote:
And what was with the hair? That was weird.
In the comic, I'm pretty sure it was just one 'warrior braid'... not the whole thing. She cut it to symbolize her change of status. A braid is a good keepsake. A foot of loose hair is kind of awkward.

The alien family from the old Toon episode, Invasion of the Turtle Snatchers.

A favorite quote:

(Donatello and Splinter are bound by a energy chain while Barada and Nikto are asleep.)

Don: "Barada! Nikto! Wake up! ... Aw, great... They snooze and we lose!"

I'm loving this new, darker Leo... and this episode did connect to the original issue from the comic series, pretty well. A few altercations made, which this show has always done... and I think the final product came out well. Great action, and it's great seeing Casey become more "normal", instead of the bumbling idiot we knew in the earlier episodes. I like the development we're seeing between Casey and April.

And watching a darker Leonardo is GREAT! Others may not like it, but it just shows that he is not always the Goody-Two-Shoes that we all thought he was, he is just as vulnerable to his own emotions as any average person. It shows an even more human trait for Leonardo!

Oh... I can't wait until a Leo vs. Raph rivalry escalates. I can feel it coming...

Okay, so the new opening, which I saw for the first time today, I have to say I don't really like. It's kinda childish ...not that I'm not, but yeah. >.>

But the episode...Oh MAN was that cool!

Jhanna was awesome, but Lisa Ortiz's voice acting made her all that much cooler!! Ms. Ortiz is my favorite voice actress ever for her role as Lina Inverse in Slayers. Two more voice actors to go (Crispen Freeman and David Moo), and TMNT will have had the whole Slayers cast!

Okay, but enough of the Slayers fangirl mode...back to Turtles.

I really liked the whole episode, and as much as I do love the boys, my favorite parts were the interactions between April and Casey. It's ABOUT time you too! I was really hoping Casey was gonna propose...well, maybe the season finale.

And then the dark and brooding creepy Batman-Leo. Um o_o That poor boy probably has several menal disorders...Deffinately leading up to some kind of breakdown. Poor baby needs a hug...and methinks some Prozac too.

And Donnie crushing on Jhanna...How cuuuuuute! I think she kinda liked him too. Awwwwwwww :3 I about spit my pop out this morning when she left him her hair though. At the time I thought it was funny. XD But anyway, good episode.

But that preview for next week...

WTFbunny...? o.O

...Plot?

THE EPISODE WHERE I NOTED THE INCONSISTANCIES WAS "COUSIN SID".

YES, BUT WASNT LEO STABBED ON HIS LEFT SIDE? HE WAS, AND MOST OF HIS BANDAGES ARE ON HIS RIGHT, NEVER THE LESS HE'S GOT THAT LEFT SIDE OF HIS SHELL BANDAGED. JUST NOT AS MUCH AS THE RIGHT.

I DONT THINK THAT THE WRITERS AND ANIMATORS ARE BEING LITERAL WITH THE BANDAGES ON THE TURTLES COMPARED TO WHERE THEY GOT INJURED. I THINK WE ARE JUST SUPOSE TO INTERPRET INJURED TURTLES. IVE SEEN ALOT OF MOVIES AND MOSTLY CARTOONS DO THIS. I JUST THINK THAT THE STAB IS SUCH A HUGE DEAL (THE BIGGEST SO FAR) THAT THEY NEED SOMETHING TO REPRESENT IT. IM NOT ZEROING OUT THE OTHER POSSIBILITIES, I JUST FAVOR THE KARAI STAB. WHY DID THE WRITERS AND ANIMATORS MAKE THIS SO DISCRETE?

Got to see this ep. without channel surfing during commercials, go me. The short with Mikey in the punching bag was funny, I had a feeling there was someone in it. The only thing I didn't really care about this episode was the thing between April and Casey. Sure, some of the parts were funny with Casey stumbling over what he wanted to say, and that I almost thought he was going to propose marriage. There are just some kind of couples I don't really care for.

For those of you who don't know, this was based on one of the most awesome issues of Mirage TMNT Volume 1!

I loved this ep so much, especially how they interjected the whole Casey/April subplot. I think Splinter makes a wonderful mediator for the two lovebirds.

One thing I didn't like about this ep though is Michelangelo narrating in the begining of a Donatello-heavy episode. I mean what the shell is that all about? Mike's a cool guy, but he really needs to let his brainy brother have his time in the spotlight.

His right, our left.

Quote:

The left side covers the gouge in his carapace. The right is for the stab wound. I dunno why his upper left arm is bandaged.

Quote:
Based on the way the whole "stab" shot was staged, I thought Karai stabbed Leo on the left (our right) side of the chest.
I thought so too in that first shot; that or the midsection. But they were very careful not to show the blade at all in that shot (mustn't scare the kiddies [or their parents, more likely], after all, since the preceding shots didn't bother them at all ), so we just have to guess based on the previous and following shots. The one following it does look like the blade cut Leo's left shoulder, but ever since then he's been holding his right shoulder in pain, so I guess we have to assume that's where he was stabbed. Ahh, the fun of second-guessing continuity... what we need are absolutely flawless, perfect, never-ever-make-a-continuity-mistake character designers, storyboarders, and animators! Eh, oh, but then they wouldn't be human... and then we'd never get jobs.

Quote:

It depends on the genre of animation. Typically this kind will be more realistic with injuries and things (Gargoyles: Elisa was shot, and was on crutches for pretty much the rest of the season). The Shredder did hurt Don's right arm when he tried to punch him, and he did break Mike's left leg. He smashed Raph's whole body pretty violently, accounting for the soreness and those bandages. I'm not sure how he got the sprained foot and the cut on his left shoulder, but like I said, I don't think we had to see everything. But Leo's gouge is pretty serious for not telling us what happened!

Quote:
I JUST THINK THAT THE STAB IS SUCH A HUGE DEAL (THE BIGGEST SO FAR) THAT THEY NEED SOMETHING TO REPRESENT IT.
Then the scarred-up shell should really be in the front, and on the opposite side.. when the stabbing actually happened, they didn't show anything to indicate where it was (I guess to avoid blood), so they probably wouldn't draw any kind of scar it might leave, either. I just don't really understand their reasoning. It's okay to show a horrendous scar from some injury that we can't figure out, and it's not okay to show a scar from a major injury that we *do* know about? It doesn't make sense. I almost want to say they put the scar in the wrong place, but they make it pretty obvious that he's got that injury on one side, and the stab wound on the other, the way he keeps holding his shoulder. That, and I cannot believe that an entire creative team would miss something that obvious. Confuzzled, am I..

Hmm...I always thought that the missing piece of shell came from right after Karai stabbed him. Didn't the Shredder come up behind him and swipe him with the claws? Or maybe I'm imagining things....

if we really wanna get picky...Leo's shell injury shows that the scute and top layer of keratin was gouged very very deep...so why aren't we seeing BONE? It's drawn deep enough that we should see white.
I've seen bone from under the shell from injuries, it's a little bloody and pretty scary to see.
