I just listened to the 5-part mini-series while reading the comic along with it.

Hey, even though this isn't by the same company, I thought you might be interested a couple of new turtle audio stories. These were released in the UK under "Hero Turtles" based on episodes from the show. The music used is pretty similar to the cartoon.

Enter the Rat King

Return of the Technodrome

Sorry about the big size, but I ripped them at high quality. I tried reducing it, but it gets fuzzy when I do.

Sweet job, man! I actually own both those books without the tapes. I believe they did a four book set adapting four episodes.

"Splinter No More"

I've got some scans of the interiors (only the two you posted). I'll post them in a bit.

EDIT:
Here's a few from Enter the Rat King. Funny as there really is only one tiny shot of his face in the whole book.

Funny to see Irma wearing a jumpsuit and boots just like April!

Hate to necro-post, but thanks to the tea thread and my recent acquisition of 2 of the 3 "graphic novels" on tape, I thought I'd resurrect this thread to ask people what they thought of the voices in the tapes. If you've not hear them, let me know...I might be able to fix that.

Also, wow Winters, seeing Irma in a blue jumpsuit like April is weird.

So I was listening to the Stump Wrestling "tape" (Ok, so I have it as an MP3) and came across this.
And we give people grief for this mistake...and the Mirage guys made it.

So I went back and downloaded the TMHT audio that TMNT-Leonardo posted, and man they are pretty bad. Shredder and Krang sound ridiculous and I love how Hamato Yah-she's name is pronounced.

It seems that they can't even get there own pronunciation right, because I distinctly remember Splinter pronouncing it Yoshi, lol bad continuity. I actually have the third one, Follow My Leader, which I plan to rip sometime in the future.

All in all, I kind of like the Random House ones better because they turtle voices are SLIGHTLY more distinct, though I like how the intro music is similar to the cartoon.

Burne Thompson sounds a bit like like Fred Flintstone. At times I almost expected him to say "Yabba Dabba Doo"

Still I thank all the people for uploading these. I had no idea they were to be read along with the Archie comics. I had the Book and tape based on "Return of the Shredder" but it came with a soft cover bound version of the comic that was also taller than the size of a regular comic book and it had puzzle pages in the book.

Did anyone else have this version of the book?

I have "Return of the Technodrome" and "Splinter No More" as book, but not with audio cassette tapes.

Yet it's so easy to accept that Bart Simpson is voiced by a woman.

In cartoons most boys are voiced by women.

Anyone know if there's a reason they didn't simply rip the audio from the individual episodes and add the narrator? Surely it would have been cheaper than hiring a full cast of voice actors.

Of course they would have to pay Mirage/Fred Wolf/Surge Licensing all that money to use those audio/voice tracks, so apparently hiring a third-party voice cast/sound effects would be better for the budget, and most kids wouldn't get to upset over the difference. The voice actors used are probaly the bottom of the barrel anyways that have a lower salary and little or no TV experience. Also, uncredited is cheaper than credited as well.

That's just it: they didn't hire a full cast. In the narrated storyboook tapes I have, the narrator - one man - provides the voice for everyone. Everyone.
