Since the first movie was pretty close to the Mirage comic, I'm going to vote 1987 cartoon.

Mainly to see an attractive actress in a form fitting yellow jumpsuit.

I voted for 2K3 because I would love to see Turtle Titan on the big screen.

But my dream idea would be Comin Out of Our Shells/Next Mutation.

Agreed. I think u make an excellent point. Couldn't have said it better myself..

I like Guitar Raph's dream idea more than a straight up mirage adaptation.

As much as I loved the old series back in 87, I have to say that the comics would help make the turtles have a much better film, the classic jokes won't cut into today's audience and it certainly will feel somewhat cheesy for the older groups.
So why not after the most violent of all the series? The comics would promise more blood shed even though they would rather keep that to a minimum.

At this point, why not, really? I'm all for it.

I mean, movies and sequels sort of operate in a cyclical nature. Generally speaking, things start with a halfway decent Original Movie, then The Crappy Sequel, then Crappier Sequels from there until eventually you come to The Parody... at which time it's basically the producers/TPTB coming clean with us, admitting that their product has become pretty crappy and joining us in the laughter. After The Parody generally comes a fresh reboot, clean slate, a better series, and the healing process can begin.

So yeah. Bring on the Comin Out of Our Shells/Next Mutation bonanza, Bebop, lots of pizza, more burping, all that stuff.

Hit it right on the nail. This is very true.

When it comes down to it I would like to c a mix of Mirage Comics and OT. I would love to see a technodrome. I would love to c a dark cynical Krang. I would prefer an Mirage Comic Shredder. I wouldnt mind seeing a rocksteady or Beebop. I jst hope they do TMNT justice

..

Christopher Walken as OT Baxter Stockman, on the other hand, has promise! Give him the same hair he had in Batman Returns, and we've got the next great film performance of a lifetime!
I just couldn't resist quoting this, a simple remake of Beyond section outfit in Click and you've already got yourself Baxter Stockman, lol

Thank ypu Stryker.

Take the costumes from Next Mutation with the music stylings of Comin Out of Their Shells (with my instrument talent of each Turtle) & you'd have a TMNT musical.

PLOT: Dragon Lord plots to make the Turtles tone deaf with a special weapon that makes them musical morons. Leo & Venus decide to get married after one of their biggest concerts. Not being appreciated playing the drums, Mikey decides to ditch the band after seeing a superhero guitarist (Ex-Cel Dude) and wants to jam with him.

Yes, I like to plug my own character! All this plugging, I should've been an electrician!

That's not what I mean. When you read the canon series it isn't nearly as family friendly as either cartoon series. I guess I would like a happy balance. The more I think about that I guess the more I realize we all ready had that with the original movie.

A fine mix between Mirage and the new toon would be nice...new toon being based off the Mirage series and all...it's a win-win. Although, instead of lumping all three movies together I would have put the first movie at least on its own. The first film is, in my eyes, a very healthy medium for both comic and cartoon fans...but this time the cartoon they'd be taking after would be the new one!

What necessitates the comic canon as being not family friendly? Nothing in the old books is any worse that you'd find on prime-time cable. Plus, the comics were not intended for children, rather the Turtles were tweaked to appeal to the family friendly audience.

I don't mind either way, I probably would not have discovered Turtles if not for the toys and cartoon.

Uh. Ok.

It was a perfectly serviceable kids movie with some surprisingly great fight scenes. It wasn't great or even good but it wasn't a train wreck.

But I'm guessing you're stuck on a black kid being the main character and all the other OMG changes.

Frankly Ninja Turtles would be lucky to have a movie of that quality. The last 2 movies and the last tv series were godawful.

Part of me seriously feels, that they should go all out and do a loose adaption of City at War, for the first film.

First of all, for those of us who have read it, we all know that CAW is a great ****in turtles story! Arguably the best A cinematic version of a cold Ninja infested New York city could be awesome visually and the story has plenty of room for ripe character development.

I'd say it's safe to say that the general audience doesn't need another reintroduction to the turtles origins. Even if they do, flashbacks where necessary are also an option.

The general audience loves Shredder, so having him in a few flashback scenes, and having his presence felt throughout the story could potentially please the general audience, as well as those who are a wee bit sick of Shredder being the "joker to batman" of the universe.

When my head thinks of seeing something like City at War, on film, I just flat geek out with the potential. Although the likelihood of this happening (let alone in the first film) is slim to none. Count me in for another origin story though. Anything TMNT related, handled with care and respect for the franchise, has the potential to be super awesome.

Oh, and I voted Mirage
