Official Episode Discussion #21: "Karai's Vendetta"

Based on the preview clip, Nick did a good job of picking something from the climax of the episode where both the Turtles and April were in trouble. It felt like both could have been kidnapped (especially April as she nearly ran out of energy while battling Karai). I also like the function of the Turtle Sub or what ever it's called; the love portion by the monster was one of the most clever parts of the episode. I wish the episode ended with Shredder angry over Karai, or at least telling him that Murakami supports them.

It will be interesting what April needs to do since this would be the first version in which she wouldn't have an overworld job and it seems that Nick is making her a brave fighter. Well, wouldn't be funny if April's mother just turned out to be Mona Lisa who got mutated by the Kraang and was sentenced to Dimension X?

I thought it was cool that Splinter is teaching April Japanese as well. Her and karai giving thanks in the form of "Itadekimasu" was a nice touch.

Am I the only one that thinks they pretty much confirmed that April likes Donnie now.

The way they commingaled together at the beginning makes it seems that the care factor is mutual.

Also the part where Donnie asks his brothers what April and him were busy doing, and the sudden silence that followed.

Priceless.

Donnie is clearly April's best friend amongst her turtle brothers. Yet, I'm pretty sure he's strictly restrained to the "Friend Zone."

I really enjoyed the episode. My only gripe that I'm having right now is why April is immune to Kraang water. I hope she's still human and not an alien.

Other than that, seeing Karai in street clothes was cool. I'd sure love to see the turtles wear disguises soon. I'd love that.

Also, I think Splinter hasn't been doing anything because the show really focuses on the turtles. That's why Splinter does not get much of the spotlight.

I am still hoping that April is half Alien(hopefully part Neutrino).

I will be ok if she is a human or mutant human.

As long as she isn't a android or other artificial life form.

With all those complaining that nothing was revealed in this episode, can I just say, yeah.. you are right about that. How-ever some-thing else happened, this episode had lasting consequences

Which is even better than revealing stuff, not every episode have to reveal stuff, but having a consequence of the action, that's really good.

And the consequence, April is also stuck in the sewers now!

Loved the Donnie and April interaction in this one, the two were very sweet together. I also thought it was kind of cool that the episode actually took it's time for Karai and April to hang a bit out before it turned into the chase scene.
Pretty suspenseful action packed episode, I liked it a lot.

And man, this Splinter is hillarious, I mean his and Raphs scene.. I found it to be gold, every last second of it X)

April vs Karai was awesome I felt kinda bad for April after a while...
and the turtle soup........thats pretty crazy Karai even for you XD....
my favorite part was the sea mutant hugging on the sub XDD LOL did NOT expect that.


on another note....I'm kinda over Donnie's crush on April now.

I won't have time to post on the blog til later tonight, but I'm glad the April VS Karai went down the way it should have.

April was absolutely no match for Karai AT ALL. She only won through sheer luck and knocking her down a flight of stairs. And honestly, the only way anyone could win a fight against someone that outranks them in skill is by luck and some outside circumstance. I liked that they didn't make her defeat Karai in an all-out fight.

So basically speaking, April didn't really win. She just managed to get away. Similar to how the Turtles got away from Shredder when he was distracted by Chris and Xever.

I did miss the first seconds of the show, before Karai put the Kraang in the robot suit so it could talk. Did I miss anything interesting?

And why do people keep asking for Baxter? I do understand Chris and Xever should still be around.... but did anyone NOT see Baxter get away from them to do his own thing? He no longer works for them. He's back to solo-super villain.

Yeah, but I loved how he was off to one side as April retold her encounter with Karai, clearly he's conflicted.

I still say April is at least part Neutrino, that's why water from Dem. X wouldn't affect her.
Hey and you know, Mikey pretty much almost killed April in this episode...if she wasn't something besides human, that water would've MELTED her!!!

Loved this episode. Shredder questioning the Kraang, the sub Donnie built, the guys pedaling for their lives, Karai and April's interactions before the fight, the fight...Donnie's ever growing feelings for April...!! Loved it all!!
