Watched the first movie at the Drive in, man I miss watching movies from the comfort of a vehicle. Miss the ole mono speaker on a wire that you put on your window. The rowdy teenagers drinking an smokin in the back row, in their party vans with the airbrushed barbarians an scantly clad wenches. Okay don't miss the last bit. Second and third movies were in the theatre with the floors that when you lifted your leg to take a step you could swear your shoe would stay behind. My brother was late coming home from a show one night, and I figured he tripped and I wouldn't see him till Saturday matinee

I saw the first two at the movies as a kid.

Extremely fond memories of seeing the first, pretty much at the height of turtlemania, and I remember being extremely disappointed by the silliness of the second.

Saw 1 in theatres when I was 12. That christmas got the VHS and played it 10 times before christmas break was over. Missed the second movie. But made sure I got it on VHS. Saw third movie in theatres. TMNT I saw twice in theatres. And will go see the new one when it comes out.

On a side note my earliest memories of seeing a movie in theatres was either rerelease of Bambi or Star Wars episode VI. Whichever was released first.

Believe it or not, no. I first saw the first two movies on VHS shortly after released on video and the third on a cable TV channel only about six months after release since it did poorly, and could understand why. IMO I tend to only go to the movies once or twice a yea if its something I really like, so home video/streaming/TV movies are my thing. I never watched the fourth movie on DVD (let alone see it) until 2010 when I purchased a copy at a yard sale right as I was rediscovering my love for the Ninja Turtles.

Before I die..I have to see the original in a deluxe cinema.

I can't..just can't leave this earth without seeing Shredder and the Turtles on the big screen.

The fight must have been epic in the theaters.

For those who did and can remember..what were some of the best crowd reactions? That's a very difficult thing to ask someone heh

Saw all of them, the first one might have been the second movie of any I ever saw in theaters. Remember watching the third and getting bored in the middle.

I remember seeing all three in the local theater, in same theater room all three times too. I remember the light up sign with the TMNT picture on it over the door, not like now its in led text. The theater has never changed and it went from the theater to go to in town to the crappy old $1.00 movie theater... every time I sit in that room I can sit in the same chair I did when I saw the movies. It really brings back memories..

as for TMNT I saw it in san diego when I was stationed there.

I hope the new movie when it comes out my other local theater that plays all new movies does what it previously has done in the past. Which is play all the old movies the day the new one is out before 11pm then they play the new one at 12am. If that's the case ill be there all day long!

I will also wait for it to go to the $1.00 theater and then see if its in the same room like the others that would be cool!

Yup! All three, in fact. I never saw the CG one in theaters, but by then I was busy with life, bills, job, etc, and didn't have much time or $$ for movies. But I saw all three of the LA ones on the big screen, and the first one I went to opening weekend with two friends- and haven't been the same since. No, really. That movie actually brought me out of my own er, "shell" as it were. Went from a shy bookworm constantly getting walked on by others to a more outgoing "people person" who learned to stand up for herself. And yes, I owe it to that movie, odd as it sounds. Sometimes you just experience something that makes you look at the world differently, and changes how you see yourself. I guess that's why I love the TMNT so much. It did that for me.

I remember watching the original film in theaters and quoting the movie the whole drive home..."I love being a turtle!" ::backfist to the face::

...needless to say, my parents did not love being my parents that afternoon.
