I'll get it because I'm an asshole.
Just a stupid asshole who has to have "everything". Basically, I have the Next Mutation DVDs so I might as well have this pile as well. But I'm in no rush and I'm not happy about it. It's like a sense of doomed obligation more than excitement ("Well, it's TMNT, so, I haaaave toooo..."). If I drag my feet I might even be able to get the "special" one Used at my local FYE for a couple of bucks. I predict seeing a lot of these trickle back into stores in the Used bins starting sometime around February. So, anyone who "Has" to own it but feels guilty about it, just know You Have Options. The only Bonus Content they should include would be one of those "You Have Our Deepest Sympathies..." cards. That would be most appropriate. |

The wife needs to see it yet. She needs closure. But like I said, like with the G.I. Joe movies, FYE Used Bins exist for a reason. Y'know I found Spider-Man 3 there for like 4 dollars? I mean, I overpaid, but still, I got to fill out my Spidey collection without too much guilt.
The Guilt was reserved for actually seeing Spidey 3 twice in theaters. Stupid, stupid kid. We all make bad decisions. |

![]() Eventually, at best, this movie will join the rest above - something bought for $1, saved to have a few drinks and laugh at on some night we're feeling especially goofy. Because you're right - it'll hit the cheap bins and pawn shops very quickly. It's pointless to pay full price. Just be a little bit patient and you'll get it used and/or cheap - the only way it's worthwhile.

I can honestly tell you that there is something in each TMNT incarnation that I love, even if there is also something that I hate. For example, in the PD film I loved certain moments of interaction between the turtles, I loved the sequence where the turtles are running over the rooftop and the early vigilante scenes. Equally, I've been fairly critical of other elements (which i don't see any need to repeat here). But I've always been very open about the fact that I believe that every incarnation has something slightly different to offer. They each form part of a rich TMNT universe. Even the Next Mutation (overall I thought it was pretty silly, but I loved that Splinter played chess with a blind man in Central Park). Whilst the PD film will never be everything I wanted it to be, I do take enjoyment out of parts of it. It's also human nature to shout louder about the things we object to than the things we love. I've been quite vocal on these forums about things I didn't like about the PD film, but in truth there was also a lot that I did appreciate in it. Some may think this hypocritical, but to me it is balance. So I will buy the DVD and I will enjoy watching it, as I enjoyed a few trips to the cinema. It's not that I consciously want to reward PD for mediocre film-making, it's that the film forms a small part of a large picture and as a fan of the franchise I intend to include it in my collection and revisit the elements that I loved from time to time. |

I probably won't buy it. I don't like the film so I don't see the point. I own the rest of the films, but this doesn't appeal at all.
My little cousin really enjoyed the film so perhaps I will buy it for his Xmas. But other than that I don't see the point. Cam't imagine I will watch it again any time soon, so no point buying it at £15 - £20 or whatever. |

![]() The Super Mario Bros movie remains... elusive. Y'know, I've heard it improved the movie by a lot, but I haven't actually seen it yet. But there's always potential for a movie to graduate out of the Shame Drawer onto the regular movie shelf! Quote:
I mean... hey, if someone legitimately enjoyed it or really wants to own it, more power to 'em, that's fair. But I'll never understand the people who hate this movie, hate what it represents, and then continually reward its makers with their hard-earned money. You do that, and you are literally voting for more of this with your wallets.

The movie was in theaters here (The Netherlands) in August, meanwhile the release date for the DVD/Blu-ray has still not been announced yet.
A lot of movies that were in theaters around the same time are being released now. |

No lie, there was a HUGE pop in the theater when he busted in. I heard some dude all the way in the back row like, "Aw, SH*T, that's Kevin Nash, son!" And yeah, Daredevil Director's Cut is SO much better. Just check it out, you won't regret it. The playground fight is still there, BUT they fixed a lot else. The extended plot makes the WHOLE movie fit together better. Plus, Coolio! The scene where he testifies in court is Golden. "So, then you went home and passed out from drinking...?" "Smokin' weed, mostly." ![]() Legend of Chun-Li is the biggest piece of sh*t I think I've ever seen. There's nothing enjoyable about it, even ironically. It's just a piece of f*cking garbage from the inside out and I really can't understand how movies that bad get made. Like, of all the people who could have gotten the rights to Street Fighter, you get someone who decides to make it completely unrecognizable on every level. I can't remember the last time I got so ANGRY watching a movie. And I'm not even a huge SF fan, I like it but my wife's the fanatic. I was just like, "Oh, GOD, every single thing about this is AWFUL" and I really wanted to kill someone. I hate it SO bad. I can't imagine Super Mario Bros. being hard to find, every FYE around here has a bunch of them for like $4 used. Then again, this is NJ, not The Land Of Beavers and Maple Syrup, so I'unno how things work up there. |

![]() My wife got super excited finding a cheap copy of Howard the Duck, and I guarantee we're gonna enjoy the hell out of that stinker. Quote:

I've heard that the Coolio stuff actually made the overall plot make sense in a way it... really didn't in the theatrical cut, so that's a plus. And Coolio himself's definitely a big plus too. Also, I always liked Michael Clarke Duncan as the Kingpin, and especially since he died a few years back I think it'll be nice to revisit that.Quote:

I'm surprised, really. I've looked at every pawn shop and every discount bin in town and I've never seen a copy. We actually got the point where we debated ordering it online, but that feels like cheating. And there are... other options... but not having a physical copy breaks the rule.

The Digital version of the film is available now, The version at Vudu has some bonus features, But no deleted scenes, But does have an Extended Elevator scene, Don't know what else they added to it, I recall that scene being edited.
