Possible Spin-Off Series on the Horizon?

The only reason I can think of for this if they are planning to end the show next year is to keep people interested in TMNT over a longer time. Basically to leave people wanting more, but dropping it before people get 'TMNT fatigue' and then have to shelve TMNT for a while. I don't know if this is their plan personally, but since they have another movie coming up, they might be doing this to keep interest from dying off, so as to deliver profits for the 2nd movie when it comes out.

As for doing something with the OT at the end, I think Ciro mentioned something about doing something like that in one of his interviews.

The show is not ending. I don't know why you keep posting this over and over again. You're literally pulling things out of thin air.

Given that the movie franchise is also continuing no way will Nick not have the cartoon running when new movies are still hitting theaters.

Anyone else thought of this possibility? That they will not cancel the show or end it but whlie they will continue it at the same time they will start a totaly new one so we will have two tmnt shows running at the same time the current one and the new one... If they do this then it will increase their ratings almost to double and will give a boost to toy figures sales becaue then fans will have to watch not one but 2 new episodes evry sunday

I am not pulling it out of thin air. I know I could easily be wrong, but based on them only having only 20 episodes next season and I have heard through this place with Ciro said he might want to do with TMNT, this is why I keep thinking this.

Here is the basis for why I feel this way: A way to tell that producers try to continue a show for a long time is that they will frequently try to put the villain 'on ice,' to keep the good guys from finishing him up too soon. In the 80's cartoon they would send the Technodrome somewhere just out of reach (deep inside the Earth, somewhere in Dimension X, the Arctic) so that he could always come back and be a continual threat. In the 2k3 show they sort of did this too early on, often using one of these as a springboard to tell another part of the overall story.

I don't see them doing this much with 2k12 Shredder. They are blazing through their major plot points now after his trip to Japan, after having taken things slow and easy before (waiting around half a season to do anything with the Karai revelation) and now showing Irma's being a bot, Karai's mutation, invasion of New York, feeling to N. Hampton, return to New York, mutation of Bebop and Rocksteady, taking back New York, permanent removal of the Kraang, etc. Ciro has said that he has a planned ending for TMNT, and based on how many seasons they are projected to get, will 'tweak' and pad out the story to stretch it out longer. If they intended to keep it going for a while, there would be long spaces between these points, having several encounters with the plot point critter before they finally got rid of it. These points are getting shorter and shorter, with a new plot resolution almost every few weeks now.

My impression is that they are trying to get this stuff resolved quickly, so they have wrapped everything up by the time the show ends.

Having movies coming out doesn't mean anything for a particular show to remain on the air. They have had 4 Transformers movies come out, and they started, ran and ended about 2 Transformers shows since then. They might have a TMNT show on air, but it doesn't mean it will be 2k12.

I don't think we are saying goodbye to the series just because we have 20 episodes. It may just mean they can only budget 20 episodes that particular season. If they can tack non six more, People have pointed out there are some episode series have have lessened. And Legend of Korra was able to have successful seasons that were on average 13 episodes long. But since things are getting darker with the series we are not going to turn to filler because things will be more intense.

If the Shredder is defeated in this season...that doesn't mean he's dead. It just makes room for the Turtles to think everything is finally over...oh wait no we have Bishop to deal with.

Kraang returned to Dimension X , great lets Party...wait no....bring on the Triceratons.

Triceraton's are gone...what Shredder's back when did this happen? Where ever he went he's been eating his Wheaties.

Or maybe Titanus becomes a major threat. Savantei Ramero and time traveling. We've seen an easter egg of old hob so maybe Old hob appears in the nick show or Virminator X. So there are still plenty of stories and plot lines that could be covered. Heck same as it never and good genes could stretch out and entire season if done right.

If they do a Spinoff series, I would like to see continuity happen between both shows. Have characters appear as guest characters on one show and vise versa.

Maybe they do a Justice Force as a Spinoff series?

20 episode seasons is the norm for a lot of shows. By cutting off 6 episodes it saves them 6 episodes of production costs and theoretically reduces 6 episodes of potential filler.

Ciro also said he'd like to make at least 5 seasons, so I don't know why you think four would be the end.

Shredder's likely sticking around for the entire run of the show, they're not blazing through plot points when they can bring in tons of new ideas down the pipleline. Triceratons, Hun, Bishop, time travel with Renet and Savanti, there's a lot more to be done.

Even if that were the case, I highly doubt Nickelodeon would commit a series over a bunch of characters who were created as parodies of the Justice League. They don't even have a large rogues gallery.

A Mutanimals or Half Shell Heroes spin off series seems more likely than the JF.

a Mutanimals series is the more logical choice, There are already enough good mutants they can built a team on, And besides, Mondo Gecko is showing up soon, They can built it off of him.

Between Mutanimals and Half-Shell Heroes? I think HSH is the more logical choice, honestly. It'd be interesting to see them expand the Nick series' world and I'd be interested to see what a Nick Mutanimals show would be (even though I'm kind of tired of the excessive number of mutants on the show). But a show aimed at younger kids would still feature the most popular characters, would likely be cheaper to produce, and would help introduce the franchise to kids who might be considered "too young" for the regular series (and potentially help wean them onto the main show when they're a few years older).

a show in the vein of Team Titans Go would be possible, But I heard all the Drama that went on the creation of that show at Cartoon Network. They wanted a series aimed at Boys instead of Girls, Which is what lead to the cancellation of Young Justice.

Nick on the other hand, knows there audience, Which are kid.

Nickelodeon said in their 2015-16 upfront that spin-offs are being considered for TMNT.

I would like to see a series about when Splinter was a human.

They could do a series based of the Half-shell Heroes toy line for Nick Jr.
