I really don't see what the big deal is. They had a speaking role in a scene and hired an actor to do it. So what? Are you worried about TMNT screen time? Jeez, it could amount to less than a minute of screen time for all we know. Maybe even seconds. Not every actor they hire is going to have this huge, massive role lol. I'm sure they have money put aside to animate the turtles and hiring Trevor won't break the bank lol.

I know right, They seem to take this too personal, And the sequel isn't even done filming.

I just think its crazy when people see they filmed news reporter characters talking to sports stars at a galla and assume that means the movie is now The New York Knicks with special guests the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lol. And before anyone mentions context, we don't even know the context of what they were shooting other than the fact that the characters are reporters in New York and the Knicks are a New York team. A crappy team, but still. Plus not every actor gets paid like Will Smith and will cost them an arm and a leg to hire lol. The casting department has their budget and the effects guys have their own. Its not a giant pot of cash in the middle that everyone just runs to a grab money out of. I'm sure they are fine.

True, Even Extras don't get paid a lot either.

I've been avid supporter of this iteration from day-1...

BUT...if you think having

Megan Fox / Will Arnett / Stephen Amell / Brian Tee / Brittany Ishibashi / Sheamus / Gary Williams / Tyler Perry / William Fitchner and Laura Linney along side Carmello Anthony / DeAndre Jordan / Austin Rivers / Matt Barnes / J.J. Redick / Spencer Hawes (all ball players confirmed to have shot a sequence in addition to the one Anthony was shooting) Alessandra Ambrosio...and now Connor Fox (who by the way, if it was such a small role, they would have hired a random no-name, not a named actor with credentials behind him)

...isnt going take away screentime from the Turtles, then you have obviously never seen the TRANSFORMERS series. The robots take a backseat in their own movie, and they did so to likes of the little girl who played Katara in that live action abomination of Avatar: The Last Airbender.

...and yes, while the model, and the ballplayers MAY be delegated to cameo roles that amount to a few minutes...that's still a few minutes too long for me.

Whenever I re-watch the first film, I fast forward through the first 20 minutes, just to get to the Turtles, and I know I am not alone.

It seems like the only way that the Turtles are going to get their screentime is if they're alongside the human characters. In Transformers 1, you didn't see the Transformers very often. However, in Transformers 4, you saw them A LOT when they were alongside the human characters. They still weren't the main characters, but they were more significant than before.

Turtles 1 had the Turtles as secondary characters, yes, but they weren't treated nearly as bad as the Transformers in terms of screentime. If they keep the Turtles near April and Casey for a majority of the movie, it may work.

But then again, it's Michael Bay. He doesn't care about the Turtles as characters, just as action pieces. April the Movie 2 feat. Casey Jones will be out shortly.

The majority of those characters you listed are directly involved with the turtles and what they are doing in this film (their friends, the bad guys, the cop apparently trying to get them) while the rest either shot cameos (that may not even show up in the final film, depends on editing), are actors filling bit parts or may not even be in the film at all (Fitchner signed sequel contracts when he signed up for movie 1 but that doesn't mean they have to use him, it just means they can if they want. We haven't heard anything about him being involved in this one which makes me suspect that he was written out, probably in favor of Baxter Stockman).

And looking at his imdb page it looks like he's simply a working actor. God forbid they hire the actor who auditioned and won a role. And honestly I've never even heard of Conner Fox and I doubt most people have so let's not act like being on imdb and getting steady work makes him this important, big time actor who wouldn't possibly work on something he's not one of the stars of.

Megan Fox being in this is so unimportant to me that I didn't even catch the matching last names.
What episode is that from? I don't remember it.

1) April was directly involved with the Turtles in film one - and she alone was the focus of much of the first film.

2) If those bit parts / cameos ultimately get cut (unlikely considering the celebrities they got to fill 'em) then THAT will be best case scenario, but again, not likely.

Look, I'm not saying this film is gonna be terrible (these boards are filled with people who feel that, and say it - I am NOT one of them), but I honestly think you're being naive if you say that having ALL these humans isn't going to detract from the Turtles - again, look at the Transformers, SAME Production Company, SAME Producer.

I hope I'm wrong.

I do not see why everyone says April was the focus of the film. She was definitely one of the main characters but her being the main focus of the film is hyperbole ********.

And I'm not saying they may get cut entirely (though it very well could) but they will surely be edited and trimmed and retooled and really not amount to as big a deal as people are making it out to be.

I'm just saying that overall people are making this sound like its Avengers level casting where everyone is a main character and everyone is vying for screen time. Its really not as blown out as people are making it out to be.

Well when people involved in the production publicly address concerns about lack of screen time for the titular characters citing how expensive the turtles were to animate then it shows it certainly wasn't "fine" with the first and it's going to be an issue with fans when we see money spent on unimportant things like celebrity support roles and hiring Madison Square (well known to be an expensive place to shoot).

Carmello Anthony and Alessandra Ambrosio are in two scenes and based in set pics at least one they have a sizable role in but for what purpose? It's not like an NBA game or a fancy gala are things that lend themselves to a TMNT story so it just seems they were written to have them there.

...because you saw nothing but April in the first 20 minutes of the film. and every single story element revolved around her, from the Turtles existence down to their connection to the Shredder.

if this movie was being handled like the Avengers you wouldn't hear a peep out of me.

but I digress...we're both looking forward to this film.

Where is a smiley that raises an eyebrow when I need it.

IMO - She was made the center and reason of the the Turtle's existence. This almighty savior and more important. The film gives us a lot of it from her perspective and all the junk that's happening to poor April.

Personally I don't see how she isn't the focus.
Spoiler:
Case in point: When the Turtles asked her to meet them (after Donnie hacked her computer), it would have been nice for the audience to see a little down time (and an easy place to insert some into the film) with the guys hanging out waiting for her and wondering if she's going to show up. Instead we fully get April's angle like we're supposed to feel how it's scary for her and not relate to the Turtles at all. (I have little appreciation for them making my fave come across as creepy there...)

The Turtles ultimately didn't even get to stop Shredder themselves. Did Leo throw his sword, hit Shredder straight in the chest, just enough to have Shredder react and fall? No. He just impaled his shoulder so April could be the one to kick him off the tower.... Ultimately they told a story of poor April who gets vengeance for her father's death.

That you are not. Started doing it after about the third viewing. I skip all the boring human non-Turtles stuff in it now; once you've seen it, you've seen it. Only Turtles anything I have ever felt the need to do that to... speaks volumes I think, at least to me.

As for this other Fox actor - only negligible imo if he's in the scene WITH the Turtles. Or just lumped in with many others in the Halloween stuff. If they're still doing the police stuff, heck, if the Turtles are locked up at some point, maybe he's some guy in the next cell or directly across from them. lol That sort of thing I could be fine with if they make it interesting so it's a character reacting to and/or interacting with the Turtles. (Now I want a scene like that.)

You know what I find funny? You making a thread for some random dude casted in this movie who probably won't be playing a major role in this film.

That's a real knee slapper right there, folks.

Well, His casting had an actual character name, instead of the type of names given by Extras.

Yeah, and what are the chances of him playing a major role?

I'll tell you what they are: 0.000000003%
