So to be clear Tales #6 is the finale issue of the Mutant Mayhem run, right? I haven't read any of these issues yet.

Yes, you can probably read the entire thing in a single collected edition down the line. They may end up making more Mutant Mayhem universe comics eventually, like how they made multiple books featuring the Nick 2012 Turtles, but for now it's over.

The silver lining in these Mutant Mayhem spinoffs is the fact that the writers were all merciful enough to not make us witness Splinter and Scumbug swapping spit as a “joke”.
Very proud of them. |

I definitely recommend everyone follow Andrew Joustra on Twitter. There’s a ton of cool Easter eggs in his arc that he’s been revealing:
![]() There will be more, eventually. But not until September at the earliest. But you’d definitely like the #4-6 arc. |

Andrew Joustra is teasing that Tales comic news is coming in the next couple weeks. His tweet is also capped off by four emojis: a turtle (obvs), a lizard (probably Mondo), a surfer...and a shark. Armaggon incoming?

Tales of the TMNT: Coastal Chaos announced! Coming in September, it'll be written by Andrew Joustra with art by Louie Joyce and introduce this universe's take on Armaggon!

FAKE Tales be like
![]() That's cool though. My kid will be happy and I'll read anything Joustra writes. |

Internally debating whether I’ll even bother reading this or not. The last two story arcs were boring. Armaggon is cool. Don’t have much hope for a Fake Tales of the TMNT Armaggon.

I’m sure they’ll make a joke about that. Since Armaggon has cybernetic on his body, I’m betting they’re just going to make him some kind of Bishop creation related to the Mechazoids.

Why do we keep using the thread for the first issue of the previous series, instead of just making a new one each time?
Anyway, the seahorse and eel returned. And Armagon is implied to be Superfly's machine fused to a shark. And once again the framing device raises more questions than it answers, initially implied to be another improvised story but has Mike reference something Leo allegedly said with Raph and Leo both confirming at least that happened. ... I don't know, I guess they're still trying to safeguard from continuity snarl with the next movie but this stuff is actually getting a bit complex here. |

So far I’m lost as to why Mikey thinks this story is funny enough to share at an improv show lol |

Well, if we’re being honest, Mutant Mayhem Michelangelo is by far the least funny or entertaining version of the character. He’s got the personality of soggy cardboard.

I really dig this Armaggon design. It's cool to see another variation on his Archie look (rather the tiny-headed version of the 2012 design from Rise) and he's a nice switch from the goofier East River Three in that he legit looks like a fishy hellspawn. (This is probably the scariest he's ever looked. Yes, even including IDW's kaiju version.) I REALLY wish that Mattel or whoever would consider these comic-exclusive characters for future toys. I'd love to own a figure of this Armaggon.

Coastal Chaos will roll right into Tear in Time, out December 12th.
![]() “The Turtles are traveling through time, and this time it isn’t all fun and video games. In the far-off and totally not far-out future of 2037, the world is under Triceraton control! Everyone’s favorite Timestress, Renent, recruits the Turtles to the future to save their slightly older, no-longer teenage friends from Triceraton destruction!” Source: https://www.denofgeek.com/comics/ren...ng-tmnt-comic/ |

Anyway, I find it a bit... Concerning... That the movie itself prioritised characters like Bebop, Rocksteady, Wingnut, Bonafrog and Mondo Gecko while this ambiguously canon spin-off material is free to use characters like Renet and the Fugitoid. There's something wrong about these glorified action figures being given higher priority over characters that were created with actual story potential in mind. The fact that the quite frankly more interesting characters end up in this stuff implies the movies aren't going to touch on them. As if to say they're not interested in making sequels with space and time travel... Which I guess I should have figured when the stupid movie is all about the main characters really wanting to enroll in high school... |
