I think, despite what we're shown, his brothers MUST have at least basic mechanical skills. I mean, let's generously say about 6 months have passed in the show since the old lair was destoyed (not counting the 3 months in dinoland). In that time, Don has wired the entire lair for electricity (and yes, Mikey, you can plug in the TV now), doubtless built a kitchen and bathroom (and if you guys have ever done that you know how much work it is!!!), retrofitted a truck, rebuilt his lab from scratch up to the point where he is capable of running DNA samples (unless he sends them them out to a DNA lab, which is quite possible actually since it's about as special as ordering pizza these days), repaired a helicopter (which really for Don shouldn't have been a big project)... *gasps for breath* ... built a variety of personlized and color-coordinated(!) Mutant Outbreak Containment equipment complete with massive amounts of tranquilizer (or whatever compound was in those vials), and possibly (unless it was already there) staged an indubitably elegant engineering project in which he constructs a self-contained waterproofed lair-accessible foldup helipad and tunnels under a river to install it (without, you know, dying and taking his entire family with him). Oh! And don't forget the new security system, which knowing Don comes with all sorts of secret perks. I'm sure that's not all either. Most of this without April's help, and who knows if they've even been in contact with Case since the move. Leatherhead has helped at least with the mutant outbreak equipment. Leo (was it Leo?) knows how to fly the helicopter and that's no mean feat; it stands to reason he was probably at least minimally involved in repairing it. His brothers have to have been helping him. It's just not believable otherwise (I would have said it's not "possible," but none of this is really possible!). Don is definitely a planner (he may not test all his designs, but he sure draws up some pretty schematics for them). He would have no problem, once he figures out what needs to be done, delegating work out to whatever victim volunteers. ETA: Where do they get the money? That's easy. Don's an eBay millionaire and he had April invest in Google for him. They must get the vast majority of their stuff from the scrapyards-- I think that's what Baxter's crack about the Containment Device was about, in this ep. "Amateurs!" Baxter WISHES he had the skillz Don has. That's another part that got to me in this ep... "so much for the intelligent turtle!" Grrr....... I was SO happy when Don totally thwacked Stockman across the room with the door of Stockman's apparently flimsy containment thingy. WHAP!

I'm betting the lost season will have all the answers for us.
Great episode. The shadowy figure talking to Agent Bishop looks like one of Shao Kahn's Shadow Priests. |

Good episode, but it left several question, most of which have already been discussed here.
Another Shredder? THE original Shredder? Guess we'll never get rid of this villain in this show (not that I complain). Maybe those three that the Ancient One was speaking to are the original Shredder(s)? Tell me something - when exactly did they get the hellicopter from Bishop? Was it shown or is it in Insane in the Membrane again? Damn, I almost feel like I have already watched that episode Anyone else thinks Karai is under some bad mental influence? I mean come on, everyone would have taken a note after all she has seen so far. Could it be possible that the Mystics set some sort of spell on her?

Or perhaps even one of the Foot Mystics trying to get the Heart of Tengue away from Karai...remember they are crafty and they also said to Karai that she will be seeing Leonardo soon as she left the room. Quote:

Now if I think back to the Battle Nexus episode there are 3 statues and what did we see at the end of Tale of Master Yoshi? 3 dark Shredder Like figures... I think that this story and everyone and everything in it is more closley knit then we think or thought it was before. I'm glad Spitfire and myself are not the only ones to be talking of this all now..because before everyone dissmissed it as oh it could be anyones armour....I mean come on it's TMNT nothing is subtle in this show and everything is totally freakin' connected! -Putrescent Last edited by VaughnMichael; 04-02-2006 at 04:12 PM. |

Hey, let's overanalyze until the shows nothing but a scientific explanation where nothing is filed under "suspension of disbelief" or "cartoon". I mean, the TMNT are real and $#*/.
And once again, I'm thinking about my place in this fandom. I mean, is it really just me who doesn't want to know if red glowing eyes mean that the Shredder is evil and the pinkeyed Shredder part of a liberate-gay-culture-ancient-UFO-hemp-legalization-cult-society? I don't care, honestly. Shredder is Shredder, I don't care what he or she does or what the significance behind these acts is, I just accept the fact that he/she is doing it. You're seriously analyzing the bloody thing to the point where you kill the show... and then you kick the body around for a while until you all go on to raping it and then kicking it some more. The last couple of episodes have been extremely painful to watch, since I always had in mind, what I would read later on. I knew that you were going ballistic over that three-fingero-saur and that the line about serving the Shredder and not some Alien will make you wet your pants.

I kinda feel you Anarky. I'm not realy into over analyzing the show, and picking apart each bit scientifically. I just enjoy it, but with writing like this show has, it's all well and good to make theories and assumptions on future events based on events in certiant episodes.
It's basically what being a fan(and a nerd, like me) is all about. |

Yup. Putrescent is right. Him and me both talked about this a bit on Friday.
My reasonings behind this are the following Shredder did not just learn those moves himself, and I doubt he could make that armor himself. Or build an army. Not as quickly as he did. There are 3 statues in the Battle Nexus for Shredder, if Shredder had entered the years before how come Splinter never mentioned it to the turtles. But if he did enter and Splinter just didn't notice I doubt he won 3 times in a row and if he did I doubt they would make a statue for everytime he won. And as Putrescent said UN wanted Shredder for a reason... Those 3 shadows seemed awful mad at the TMNT for never meeting them, perhaps because they helped banish Shredder? That armor being on all 3 shadows tells me that they are apart of a secert clan that has been around for hundreds of years. Maybe the orginial Foot Clan. These shadows are the leaders, who were there before the Shredder obviously, now Shredder needed a hand. So I assume they helped him by giving him their army and the required trainning to smash his enemies. Why I don't know yet and I havn't come up with a theory for that yet but the rest seems to make sense to me. I don't consider this over looking anything. I consider this discussing something relevant to the show. Most people discuss stupid crap like "OMFG Don has teh hotz for April!" Yeah that's so much more justified then something like this. |

Is Mystery Ghoulie Guy part of a group we haven't seen yet? If so, what do they want? Bishop didn't seem surprised to see him, so how long has this relationship been going on? Your idea about Ch'rell makes sense, Warrior Turtle. Who was this original Oroku Saki then, and what's with all this mystic stuff? Is the Ancient One connected to the original Oroku? The Mystery Shadows that the Ancient One talked to at the end of Prodigal Son (right ep?) were trying to decide whether to let the turtles live (at least that's what it sounded like to me). Could that be because the turtles are going to take this Heart of Tengu thingamajigger and give it to Bishop's Mystery Ghoulie Guy? Are the Shadows and the Ghoulie Guy enemies? And if so, does that mean the Shadows are going to try to do something to the turtles? Quote:

Seriously, it's just a kids' show cartoon, it's not like they put as much effort in creating complexity as the Saw movies have or perhaps V For Vendetta. It's a simple cartoon show who's main purpose is to attract a young audience. No kid will want to wrap their brain around something that's more confusing to them than their multiplication tables. Just let simple things in the show be simple things. Anyway, this episode was great! Nice way to open up to yet another twist in this plot. And I guess the Foot Mystics are smarter than we know... seeing as one of the mystics were able to predict that the Turtles would find Karai before she finds them. The Leatherhead/GameraDon battle was pretty good, but it could've lasted longer. And now we're starting to understand more of LH's past. Good stuff! Now he won't be so much of a background character! And I'm loving his new voice... it's sounds so much closer to the Lousiana accent now. Wasn't Leatherhead from The Bayou in the Mirage Comics? I can't recall... And I'm getting sick of hearing these references to episodes that 4Kids! decided to skip. Ugh, they're starting to piss me off as much as Cartoon Network, but hey... at least they've opened up a path for the Turtles to relaunch, so I can't really hate 'em. And man am I hurting by seeing Donny as a mutated turtle. But it's so cool to see him take everyone out! Laugh at his nerdiness again, bitches! And I just want to finish this off by saying Leo's voice actor is probably one of the best deliverers (is that even a word?) in the show! I just felt Leo when he yelled at Bishop to not hurt GameraDon. I'm loving this guy's voice acting more and more as the season's progressed!

And say what you want, I can guarantee you didn't know who the Jigsaw Killer was from when the movie started to when he revealed himself. Complexity enough... And what was the point of contradicting my words? That was so besides the point of the post.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think TMNT is complex.
