Judt remember, you are talking to a camera, not a fan, theres noone around to judge you on going too far or too harsh on certain aspects of the franchise. This is all equal ground. You will not be alone

So you expect people to just send you stuff without giving anyone any sort of direction? If you were actually being proactive with leading this project, I know you'd be seeing participation.

What you think is on the first page? A layout. Layout IS direction. Participation is what is lacking, and guess whose fault that is?

I do not want stuff sent to JUST me, but someone I have in charge, he or she will send me clips of the editing so I can have my opinion on what should be cut or added, and I can edit a version myself.

So I'm suddenly the person who has to reach out to other communities and tell them what we're doing rather than a co-ordinated effort that could be done quicker with the addition of several people?

Whenever a TMNT episode (and most have seen how FF and TLS end already) is absent from the airwaves, this is the time that we should be using to generate additional progress in the community, add a new product to something that will be absent until the revived seventh season. Instead we're posting people's obituaries, talking about old cartoons for the one hundreth time and going around in ludicrous circles about what went right or wrong with FF.

I'm not mad at the volunteers who have legit reasons to have been delayed (like life, school etc), but those that dont? Get on, or get off. There's NO excuse for this.

Ok, there is no chance in hell of this project ever seeing completion if that is seriously your plan.

Projects can be team efforts, but there has to be a leader to direct and motivate people to the common goal. You have to delegate the roles and responsibilities to the people who volunteered based on what skills they offered. You volunteered yourself into the role of leader; if you're not willing to take it up, you need to choose someone to put on those shoes or else nothing will ever happen. Ever.

And placing the blame on everyone else for being lazy is not a good way to motivate people. What have YOU done for this project during this time?

Which I DID. Read the thread Shirley, people have volunteered and I've accepted their offers and posistions, problem is that they volunteer, and then do nothing. No P.Ms to continue the discussion or the project, not even when I P.M them urging a response. They just...vanish.

If I wasnt taking this role seriously, I wouldnt be in this thread answering any replies and questions.

I advertised it on the two TMNT guides at Tvrage I run extensivly and invited any new people who were interested in joining up for this specific purpose. I'm working on promos for Youtube, but want footage to add to them. So much for you trying to hurtle the boomerang of blame back to me huh?

You can b*tch at me for failings not of my doing all you want, if it means getting motivation from people I know WANT to do this but sometimes dont always show it, that's all I care about

I guess. If you consider asking other people to do all the work the extent of the effort you plan to put in.

Look, I'm not trying to be a bitch, I'm just saying that nothing's going to happen if all you do is wait around for people to send you stuff.

I just stated that I had been doing promotional work, that is not an example of me not doing anything.

I've made a few alterations to make it more "appealing", such as a co-editing option, PROMOTIONAL MARKETING options, and a cautionary urge to P.M progress reports and to commit.

The recent audio commentary for the original TMNT movie also gave me an idea of how to "beef up" the DVD extras. The top five episodes of both the original and modern series with an audio commentator posistion.

Zarius, while your intentions are good, your reactions here kind of are not helping make people want to partake in this.

Instead of asking for a whole clip or segment, ask for small projects. Like 3 minute rants on the following subjects.

Week 1, INTRODUCTIONS to the Cast
Week 2, First reaction to TMNT
Week 3, Favorite Mirage TMNT Volume 1 Character
Week 4, The Old Toon (Summary)
Week 5, Favorite Old Toon Character
Week 6, Playmates Toys (Summary)
Week 7, Favorite Archie Comics Character
Week 8, The Next Mutation
Week 9, Mirage Volume 2, Image Volume 3
Week 10, The Hiatus
Week 11, Volume 4
Week 12, 2k3 Toon and Figures
Week 13, Fast Forward and Figures
Week 14, TMNT The Movie
Week 15, The Video Games (Save this towards the end so people can put together clips from the games.)
Week 16, The Collectors
Week 17, The Fandom

With 17 weeks of different assignments, people can pick and do the ones they want. With different people doing the same assignment, you can take clips and splice them together.

Just a thought.

We just spend a few posts resolving the issues. This wont happen again.

I'll put that idea up.

Slash's idea sounds good. Just depends on whether or not you have an editor with that much free time on their hands. I'd like to contribute one of these days despite the finger-pointing, but I have no camera. So, should I send stills of whatever with it so someone can make a montage? And, now that I think of it, I guess I should offer to edit since my schedule is usually clear. I have video editing software, and lots of free time, so...

I'd love to help with this, but I don't have a camera. My family's a little behind the times with the technology. I'm typing this right now on a 3 year old lap top with dial-up internet.

And, he's supposed to edit that how? O_o Non-commercial FLV editing is still in its infancy, so the output will look horrendous. Plus, if we don't keep anything a surprise until the finished documentary is ready, no one will watch it because it's all old hat. Don't you think?
