Makes sense to me. I can see why people are bent out of shape most by this, it is the most drastic change from the Nick series. I'll reserve my complete judgement for complete episodes, but I'm not totally opposed to it...I'm more bent out of shape by the Kraang.

I'm just glad all these new changes have diverted people's anger away from the "OMG, why do they have THREE TOES?!?" concern.

And before that...
"OMG, why does Donatello have a BLADED staff?!?"

And before that...
"OMG, what did they do with Mikey's CHUCKS"!?"

And before that...
"OMG, why are they wearing TAPE on their hands and feet?!?!"

Sometimes the best cure to what ails you is more significant injury.

Yep, when we learn the Turtles were once students who went to school with Teeny O'Neil before they mutated expect the forum to go guano insane.

Because, as fans, it's our responsibility to get bent out-of-shape about every last little thing.

My only concern with teenage April is if her being a kid limits the amount of ass-kicking shes allowed to do. Granted,April has never been one to mix it up hardcore, but I kind of liked the take on her in the last movie. Plus, how are they going to handle the April/Casey relationship if shes a kid and he's an adult?

I think I will get use to it. It is weird seeing round feet though with 3 toes. :v I'd like to talk more about 3 toes.

I'm still baffled as to why anyone would be upset that others are concerned about significant changes to core characters in the franchise. While there have been changes through the years in every incarnation of the TMNT, pretty much a whole host of things have remained consistent. The Turtles having two toes and April being a slightly older female figure, are both items that fall into those categories.

When Nick comes along and we learn that the TMNT may or may not (sounds like may) have extra random toes and that April is now the same age as the Turtles (or possibly younger?) it's something any fan should be cautious of. I hesitate to use the ideology of "real fans", but I do find it hard to believe that anyone who is even a remotely dedicated Turtles fan, wouldn't find some concern in these changes. I don't think you should be "outraged" either, but everyone should have some questions as to why these changes are taking place. I remain cautiously optimistic, yet, many of this forum have chastised us for feeling that way. I find that most mysterious.

And yet, on the flip side, here's a thread dedicated to explaining to us how the new April will either be boring and typical or the "ultimate" version of the character. Without a single episode even aired.

At least those concerned with cosmetic and surface changes have a little bit of information to base this on. You can't rip into character development without any stories to go on. The again, I guess the wheels just keep on spinning anyway until the new show debuts. Such is the fandom.

I guess I just see the story possibilities. I'm also cautiously optimistic...probably with more emphasis on the optimism. I don't see this April as any better or worse than previous incarnations, I just see how these changes could be used. But then again...what do I know, since we've seen noting...and it's all speculation. Such is the fandom.

Speculations are fun. I can't see how the forum would be better with all the replies being "We'll just have to wait and see."

I don't see anything wrong with doing something new.
But then again, maybe Teen April and Three Toes will destroy the Turtles forever.

There's nothimg wrong with speculation. Even if a lot of it isn't even really speculation, just delusion. However, my post was more on the fact that some people are really bent out of shape that others have concerns. People seem to want it both ways.

It's okay to speculate that this incarnation of April is clearly the ultimate version of the character, without a single story complete... But it's ridiculous for fans to be concerned about substantial cosmetic and origin changes to the characters?

Far, far too much of that going around. But as I said, such is the fandom.

I'm not a fan of the idea of a teenage April, but then again it is a show marketed for kids and I appreciate that they could come up with some kiddie related stories and teenage angst stuff.

The toes, however, is just plain wrong (thinking about it, they were happy to lop off their tails for the last few reprisals but really, that's a totally different aesthetic decision.)

I just don't understand the 3rd toe...seems unnecessary and totally pointless. I'm sure I won't notice in the show, the figures will be the real head scratcher.

Oh, I'll notice on the show....I just don't understand the change and am strongly against it. It might not be a "big" deal, but will always make this version of the guys seem "off"...I think it will prevent me from ever looking at them and thinking "yeah, these are the REAL TMNT"....

what's next? Ears?

The purpose of this thread was not to necessarily talk about teen April directly, but to discuss the possibilites of a teen April.

Or, just 2012 April in general. This is the 2012 April thread afterall, not the 2012 teen April thread.

How would you like your April? Maybe not my idea of "ultimate" April, maybe you prefer a more mirage-inspired April, or an April closer to '80s toon? Maybe, you'd like a new April that on the level of John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever? Discuss and expand all ideas on your own 2012 April, teen or other (grandma April, anyone?)

Grandma April would be Mikey's favorite as she could just sit around all day and make him pie
