That's why I said the writers should make them older. Why do Casey and April always have to be an item anyway? I got enough of those two canoodling in the 4Kids series. I'd kinda like to see them with different beaus.

I still dunno why people get so hung up on the April/Donnie thing. It's clear that it's going to be nothing but a joke, and even if it wasn't, it would never go any further than showing them kiss or something (though even that would be unlikely, even if Avatar has shown some kissing).

And I kind of agree with the comparisons of it to Star Trek or lots of other titles that have human/unhuman relationships. It's hardly new ground.

I dunno about other folks, but the reason it's such a buzzkill for me (aside from being totally creepy), is that it makes it so that's what Don's all about. His main personality quirk is his love of machines, science and knowledge in general. Now that's second as his crush on April is what new watchers will identify him with first and foremost, which pretty much ruins his entire image and turns into some drooling fanboy nerd.

I guess it's entirely possible that Donny's mind has actually been... uh... stimulated by his crush. I don't think he was motivated to build uber-cool stuff like the T-Pod, T-Phone, and Metalhead before he laid eyes on April. So... maybe his testosterone is actually an asset to his techno-skill development.

Possibly, and maybe some people prefer to see it that way. Personally, totally not my cup of tea. That version of it pretty much makes him WAY too dependent on her for his development, instead of the capable and intelligent ninja he's always naturally been. His lacking fighting skills in this show is already having him come in last compared to his brothers, and figuring that his only motivation to expand his knowledge is because of April just makes him seem that much more pathetic.

Besides, he built the T-Pod and T-Phone purely for his brothers' and his own sake, so I doubt April really played a part in it. He only asked for her number after the fact that he'd built the T-Phone and as Raph even mentioned, it's not like he didn't really have access to it in the first place. As for Metalhead, sure, he was stoked it made him look cooler, but he built it more for the sake of his own frustration with his bo and how little he was helping his brothers, not because he looked lame in front of April (since she wasn't even there for the fight anyway).

Anyway, just all my opinion as a fan of Donnie who loathes this stupid crush and can't seem to shut up about it.

Wow, I will be honest I had never really looked at Donnie's development. In that way but now that you point it out I agree with you. Now I like want to rewatch the episodes just to observe and think about this.

Okay, but has it been confirmed that he's gonna be April's love interest? If so, I'll let go of the Gabriel idea, but until then I'm going to entertain the notion of having her on the show.

Hmm...I hadn't thought about it, but they are playing up the April thing more than they are his intelligence. Not by a lot, IMO, but by enough of a gap that I do hope they even it out more as the show goes on.

I still don't really find it that creepy myself, but eh, everyone's open to your opinion, and you make your stance well. It's just the people who declare they don't like it without much backup that gets kind of old. You don't have that problem though

Personally, I'm really happy that the show took this direction and gave this crush factor to Donnie, it opens him up and gives him an entirely more rounded out personality. As the "guy who fixes stuff" Donny was easily the biggest non-character of the group and this adds a nice/new dimension to him that wasn't always there. It's going to be kind of a bummer when KC shows up. lol

I really like April being a teenager. It removes the constant thing that bugs me with OT and 2K3.

Adding a fifth (teenage) character and clumsily attempted to make a five man band. They did this with Zack, Carter, Venus, Cody, etc.

The characters who didn't annoy me was Ninjara in Archie and Keno in Secret of the Ooze.

April gets to hang out with the guys more, is a human/teenage/girl surrogate for the fans and removes the need to make OCs. Donnie having a crush on her is interesting in 2K3, so I'm pretty much ok seeing him clumsily going about in the new show.

Kinda obvious Casey would have stayed with Gabrielle and raise Shadow.... April would either stay single or get with whoever else.
