Wow. A very awesome episode. I really liked everything about it from the fact that Dr. Falco was the Rat King, to the appearance of Murakami and Carlos, to everything else. The training with Splinter was great, and I liked at the end where Splinter owned Leo. He does need that humility at times, though I agree with others that I like how he shines in episodes and how he helped Splinter to snap out of it. I agree that the attack on April wasn't believable, but I do think Splinter was holding back a bit when he attacked her. I'll have to watch it again today. Overall, a great start to the second half of season 1.

Fave quotes:

Leo: Donnie, you attack Splinter.
Don: Me? But he'll pummel me.
Leo: It's all a part of my plan.
Mikey: Don't take this the wrong way, Leo, but your plans always end up with us getting our butts kicked by Splinter.
Leo: Okay, change of plan. Mikey, you attack Splinter.
Mikey: He took it the wrong way.

Leo: Chew on that, rat finks!
*Everyone looks at him*
Leo: Oh, come on, that was a cool one.

Splinter: Everything you know, I have taught you. *flips Leo* But I have not taught you everything I know.

Bring on Karai next week. Can't wait for that one.

It's hard to judge. The main competition was a movie on Disney Channel from 6:30 - 8:00pm. Clever counter-programming on Disney's part because kids will have started watching the movie and not felt the need to see what else is on come 7:00pm.
I suspect that the repeat of the episode in the usual 11am Saturday slot will do better than the premiere, since that's the established TMNT slot and most kids are used to watching it at that time.

Yeah. A white rat riding on his shoulder? I doubt it was a coincidence.

This show did one of the best things that can happen to a character in fiction. They upgraded their origin. Just look at how Mr. Freeze got a complete makeover in BTAS. Took a character that wasn't respected or considered anything more than a joke and gave him tons of depth. Not to say that Rat King was a joke, but he was never as sinister, creepy and flat-out dangerous as he was here. Loved the plague doctor thematic.

I never saw Dr. Falco being the Rat King coming. What a mindblowing little detail. And it makes tons of sense and just brings an even grander sense of cohesion to this show's universe.

This episode also gave even more emotional material to Splinter who has come to be, my favorite incarnation of him. And I liked that the turtles didn't get to best him. Like at all. He whooped them. They didn't water him down so the good guys can win. Because this show's not like that. It respects it's own characters and universe. Not a lot of cartoon series can say that.

Hnnng. This show guys. So good!

Hey people! Since when does Donnie has a blade in his bo staff? In all promotional immages he had it, but not in the toon, yet. I remember episode 6 "Metalhead" where his bo broke. I was waiting for him to "update" his weapon, but it didn't happen! Or did I missed something?

This may be a hint that the episodes arn't aired in the right order...

One of the early eps had Don's blade come out, I think it was either the Spiderbitez episode or the Chris Bradford ep.

Does anybody else think waking up their dad is uncomfortably awkward?'

I do.

That's exactly how I feel when I have to do it.

TFP Ratchet goes Rat King |D No I really love his clear-cut voice, he brings such emotion in a Character.

About the Episode..just..brilliant.
Like already mentioned, it was nice to see some Characters which appeared in previous Episodes. The Scene with the Channel 6 Reporter..the City full of Rats, kinda reminded me on "Donatello's Duplicate".
Also nice to see the Turtles finally went on the Surface at Daylight.

Something else I can say? Oh yes, once again a great serious Plot with well placed Jokes, always a nice Balance.

I really enjoyed this episode. I thought that the Rat King was an amazing character (I had not seen him in past incarnations, so I had no expectations). Got me excited for a possible figure production by Playmates. There may already be plans and I am just out of the loop. It just seems like this episode took the next step to another level of overall enjoyment.

Just watched the episode again (for the sake of ratings), and I loved it. Again, Splinter and Leo really shine in this one.

Also, I've realized something - The Rat King is like a mix of the Horned King from The Black Cauldron film and the Scarecrow from the New Adventures of Batman series (Batman TAS season 4, I think). I'll prove it to you:

Pretty solid episode. Liked Rat King more than I thought I would. This episode makes me want to see a Splinter vs Shredder fight.

Happy New Year!! Cool episode. Never thought Falco was the Rat King.

Question: Did Falco die and become a zombie or is he just deformed?

Fave scences:

Leo's reaction to tagging splinter.

April's ringtone going off as they faced Rat king

Fave quote:

Mikey to Leo: The hand that hit Splinter! You know you can never wash this

But I guess this episode really wasn't a "Part 2" of the Leatherhead episode; which means that episode really did have a weird ending.
Yeah.. I was left wondering what the significance of the glowing pink sewage plant was. I'm hoping the Turtles meet up with Leatherhead again real soon (Maybe even in "Enemy of My Enemy"?).

As for the episode itself, awesome! It was incredibly dark, and very deep. Man, that Rat King sure was creepy too! It was also nice to see April have some decent defensive maneuvers against Splinter. Hopefully our Konoich will be able to join the fight soon!

Watched the episode again with my mom. She really thinks this series is good, and I'm glad she was able to watch it with me. I've been wanting to watch the show with her since it first premiered.

It's been seen in both "I Think his Name is Baxter Stockman" & "It Came from the Depths".

He hasn't used it in combat yet, though.

I loved this episode. Rat King from the vintage line has always been a favorite figure of mine. When these come out for the new show I want like 4 of them. Really cool looking character. They gave him a really evil and creepy look.

That's one thing I found weird about the show. I, of course, don't know Japanese, but I never knew the I in Kunoichi was silent. When they first said kunoich, I kinda staggered.
