Yea, crap isn't a swear word.

Anyways, I hope they don't swear and that's just because of my personal preference, but if they do it shouldn't be a lot. The turtles are supposed to be role models for the kids (I know, I know, the original comic is different, but everywhere else they kinda are) and I kinda doubt parents would like to hear their kids saying those words. If any is used, they should be used sparingly, maybe like in a fight of some thing.

Then again I hope they don't swear, but if they do that isn't going to ruin my movie experience.

I remember saying damn when I was watching the first movie when I was a kid. I was trying to copy the lines and my dad freaked and told me to turn off the movie for a bit. I was told how bad it was to say that. Now I couldn't give a damn

The new movie will probably have those Bay gross out moments be more noticeable than the actual words the characters are saying. Revenge of the Fallen had the moment were one of the characters removes his pants right in front of the audience, awful. Besides I would be more worried about whether the movie has an actual story and characters we can possibly relate to than what horrible language is coming out of a characters mouth.

I only see Raph as the type to swear, honestly I don't care if they do or not, it'd be a little weird to hear that coming fro Mickey though.

As for any mature humor, Do you guys think they will show one of the Turtles peaking through a copy of Playboy magazine or something? Which Turtle would be crazy enough to just have a peak at it and then completely freak out?

Yes they can. You're allowed to say a maximum of 2 F words in a PG movie as long as it's not used to describe sex.

Doesn't really count for anything but the old leaked script had them cursing. I personally think they will curse a bit, mainly Raph.

Perhaps the Turtles won't swear, but it doesn't mean Megan O'Neil or Colonel Shroeder won't swear.

i kinda want them to, sparingly of course. and not leo either. but in the middle of a fight, if something happens, Raph saying "Damn" would seem the most natural for a teenager like him

Raph should say Damn at least 3 times.

Well this is a Michael Bay produced film so their personalities could be like...

Leo- Optimus Prime type with big speeches

Donnie- Sam Witwicky Stuttering Geek traits

Raph- Sam Witwicky Smart Mouth/Hot Head

Mikey-Sam Witwicky's inappropriate Mom/Weed Jokes

I don't want to see them having Playboy magazines of stuff like this. I mean, if the movie is also for kids and should show the good example, that's not something to do.

One of two "dawn" in the middle of a fight could be ok.

I'm sure they're gonna use "oh shell!" many times

I hope they don't swear. I don't see the purpose of it. This movie is obviously for kids AND adults. I'm sure the action will be amazing enough since it's a Michael Bay film, so that should make the adults happy. And if they keep the swearing out, then the kids could watch too.

I don't know. Swearing doesn't bother me at all, but for this film, I hope they avoid it.

Teenagers swear. By most reckoning the film will be rated PG-13. There is precedence for swearing in both the source material (Mirage) and even the first movie (which was only rated PG).

Ergo... yes, of course there should be swearing.

do people even notice if there's no swearing in a movie?

I mean is that something someone tries looking for??

(like if the whole TMNT movie had no swearing would people be mad? or not care?)

What a strange question. I think the real question is, "Do people actually want teenagers to talk like actual teenagers?"

I dunno. I would hope so? Otherwise I'm unclear why someone would want to invest themself in a movie about them so much.

My own expectation list about TMNT isn't that great, really.

Teenage : They've got to be teenagers. Or at least, start out that way.
Mutant : Yup, they've got to be mutants.
Ninja : They better be real ninjas, no fake "I'm a ninja that has taken a vow against killing" oxymoron type stuff.
Turtles : Yup, they have to be turtles.

It's weird to me that it seems like that's too much to ask.

They shouldn't swear more than they do in the comics.

But in such a mainstream format (movie) there could be upset parents as there were back in the 90s.

I would think Splinter would teach them to speak properly. I think it really depends on the character, if Raph or Casey did it, it wouldn't seem out of place. I want to see Raph call Shredder a ****ing homo before stabbing him in the face.

but they don't have to cuss to act like teens....

I never cussed as a teen........and since they are kinda sheltered...I'd like to think the turtles wouldn't cuss either.

You were also raised Christian & probably come from a somewhat respectable family. The Turtles, on the other hand, live in the gutters of a hard-edged city, with only cable TV as an influence. So they'd be rough & tumble, a bit rude, even.

.........touche.......

but I still don't want cussing! (but if it's PG-13...it will probably be in there anyway XD)

either way I'm watching it though.....it would just be a bonus for me if they didn't

Should they curse, there's no way it will include harder words that start with F & S. Some damns, hells, ass, sure, but I doubt there'd be anything worse than that. Besides, they may very well replace hell with shell considering past series' have been a fan of those kinda puns.
