this is kinda what Bry was saying but without using the Marvel connection

in a way yes...all super hero movies are very similar...what makes them good or bad is not the brand or the heroes. its the people Behind the scenes.the writers, the producers, Directors ETC

the Marvel team as a great behind the scenes crew attached to it..you can see it in every detail...whether its a casting director of set designer

and while they do stray a tad from comics, they still stay very true while borrowing from Marvels many sources

if you want to compare Turtles to another franchise Id say Hellboy is the best "Movie Brother" they could have..in a way their stories are very very similar
and for the movie Deltoro didnt only borrow from one source..He admitted to taking the parts of the Origin he like and tweaked them to fit his tale

once again in the words of Brian Henson "you can take a great script and end with with atleast a good movie, but you can not take a bad script and end up with a good movie" and that is always the first step

I can't help but have a feeling it's not going to get one and the revenue will go towards something else. While it's been acknowledged that it made a good few bucks at the office there seems to have been a lot of apathy towards it.

That said, the Smurfs & Chipmunks movies got sequels.

Maybe it should have been more like a TMNT movie or something, because it definitely wasn't.

Casey will end up being a tough vigilante, [*flashy hands*] now with a secret identity: Vern Fenwick.

Mark my words, Arnette voiced Batman in the Lego movie, didn't he? There is a danger there in him possibly having a reasonable Casey voice.
Casey Jones is his Vigilante street name....

Turtles as a concept really having nothing to do with Avengers, and the entire attempt to force them into that mold creating a really awkward movie that doesn't really satisfy fans of either?

Check and Double-Check.

And the fact that Bay is, well... Bay. (I'd say he's the harbinger of the apocalypse, but I'd probably be accused of sounding hysterical. )
Oh s**t no, please don't jinx us like this!

They never said they wanted to make it like Avengers, that was just Kevin Eastman's opinion of what it looks like. In addition, ticket sales proves that people dig it.

Check, check, Triple Check.

No, ticket sales prove people paid to see it.

Check, dollar, credit card.

Exactly people buying tickets to see this thing doesn't mean they wish they hadn't afterwards.

Audience scores: 56% on Rotten Tomatoes (117,498 ratings), 6.1 on IMDB (82,486 ratings), 5.1 on Metacritic (373 ratings). A D-average isn't exactly something to brag about.

Vicky, it seems like your prediction is pretty close, given the news about Dave Green. Pre-production work is underway.
