You're ******** me, right? Mirage is the only previous version they bother to adapt faithfully.

TTNs is right, the nods to Mirage are straight up pure. The '87 ones are heabilyvaltered and usally only in name regardless of using the '87 Turtles and Krang in an episode.

Who cares?

Why is this a bad thing?

Ok, fu*kwit, let's break it down.

I won't even talk about the 4kids stuff since your inane drivelling about Chinese Hun is so played out. And Bishop/EPF is just too obvious.

With the Fred Wolf/Archie/Trilogy era you have:
- Krang as a stupid giant evil Utrom (and then literally retconned as such, as per the crossover).
- Bebop and Rocksteady as Michael Jackson in Tron and a commie arms dealer.
- Tokka and Rahzar as a Kaiju and Chuck Norris pastiche.
- Pizzaface as a literal slice of pizza.
- Wyrm as a space genie.
- Your favorite, the Neutrinos.
- Irma as a hipster turned Kraang.
- Mutagen Man as a tubby fanboy, then mindless monster.
- Mona Lisa as an alien warrior.
- Armaggon as a non-time travelling bounty hunter.
- Completely reimagined Punk Frogs

The list goes on. The only ones I'll give you are Muckman (but not Joe Eyeball), kinda Mondo Gecko and I guess Metalhead. Don't get me wrong, a lot of those changes are for the better, but they obviously don't care about actually adapting that stuff.

Whereas Leatherhead, Renet, Savanti, Zog/Trikes, Baxter and the Mousers, Fugitoid, Shredder Clones etc. are all mostly Mirage-actuate. Even Casey is just a younger version. Plus they're hitting all the Mirage plot beats and they constantly recreate panels and covers.

Pretty much. although the ones i have the LEAST problem with are Bebop and Rocksteady, and Mona Lisa.

However, I HATE this romance crap and turning her into raphs girlfriend ruins the coolness of making her a warrior...

And Bebop and Rocksteady, just like shredder, Baxter, etc are used so little, they always seem like afterthoughts. I actually don't mind a slightly smarter bebop and rocksteady. And Fly Baxter has only been seen, what, once? what was the point?

Mutagen Man... My god. I don't care if Ciro F Bombed me off his Facebook page for this and all his yes fans came after me telling me to commit suicide for an opinion. Mutagen Man is the SINGLE, most USELESS character and ANNOYING character EVER INVENTED IN THE HISTORY OF CINEMA! If I was don, I'd just let him do his thing and not care a beat! my god... it's like his entire purpose was to not only make fun of fans, but also the fifth turtle as well.

And then you have the mess of Krang Prime vrs Sub Prime. Prime seemed like an excuse just to get rossanne barr on the show. but she's in it so little, why bother having the character? they obviously like godfreid better, so sub prime gets more show time. either that, or godfreid is cheaper. and of course, the technodrome. No build up, it's just there, then gone. never mentioned again until a breif 2 second appearance....and a moment in season 3. 'The Technodrome rises' should have been a cool throw back moment to any 80s fan, like it was in Turtles Forever. here, it fell so flat i almost turned the tv off.

Turning Krang into an utrom made no sense...but hey, what do I know? unless you want to argue that ALL Krang across dimensions are somehow the same race (like Renet is the ONLY Renet in the IDW comics) but even that is a stretch.

I honestly don't know why i keep on watching. maybe misplaced loyalty..

I seem to reacall, I think it was even said in an interview somewhere that ciro only cares about mirage stuff. and this pointless horror stuff. anything else is secondary.

Michael Bay just doesn't care at all. so it's the same problem in my book.

Oh well, at least we've got IDW. They are the only ones who, I think, get it. I got a huge grin when I saw Dark Water agents and Agent Bishop shake hands. PERFECT mashup!

This is all fine. Bebop is still black and Rocksteady still has blonde hair. They're not street punks but they still worked for Shredder and got mutated. Its true to the characters.

Rahzar being human before mutation was a nice switch, Tokka was a big change but I suppose it depends if Raph's new pet alien turtle mutates into Tokka Jr. or something.

These are just toy characters who never appeared in the original cartoon. It doesn't matter.

This was a bad switch, mainly because they could have just called the robots "microbots" instead.

All of this again is fine. Obviously characters aren't going to be 100% the same, but they're still adaptions. Does it matter that Mutagen Man isn't a mail delivery boy and is now a fanboy? Does Armaggon not traveling through time really matter? etc.

I don't think anyone was expecting 1:1 adaptions with the characters, of course we expected new takes and revamps for them. The Rat King also has a new backstory in Nick too, nobody minds.

Sometimes they recreate a scene or highly reference the first 3 movies, far better than most OT stuff.

Fly Baxter has been in at least 10 episodes. Heck he has appeared in more episodes than he did in the OT.

Mona Lisa's entire character in the OT was to be Raph's love interest. How is this any different?

What on earth? Bebop/Rocksteady only just got mutated halfway into Season 3, and they were seen in most of the episodes afterward. Season 4 spent 14 episodes in space, of course we weren't going to see them when the Turtles were in space. What logic are you working on here?

Now that they'll be back home for the rest of the season I imagine we'll see a lot more of them.

Timmy was in a grand total of 2 episodes before being mutated. 2 episodes...both in Season 1. I fail to see why this is such a big deal over what was a minor character in a 2 ep role.

What is exactly the problem here? They show Kraang Prime when something major with the Kraang is going on, otherwise they focus on Kraang Sub-prime because he's leading the army on Earth and coming up with the schemes.

This is bizarre. Complaining characters "don't show up" when all the other Turtle cartoons only gave most characters a handful of episodes at best. Your bias is apparent.

i definitely don't remember ten.

Man. For some people around here, if you're not constantly jerking off the original cartoon as the greatest thing ever, you're bad and you should feel bad.

Tell me about it. And if you say otherwise, you'll see on FB or otherwise, "ohhh... the Technodrome Forums.... they're hoooooribble... so much HATE! I couldn't stand it! I had to quit it for a while! It was too much for my fragile sense of being!"

Wahh wahh wahh, you bunch of babies (you know who you are). People have opinions and not every goose egg is golden and your wanton nostalgia for pre-teen cartoon stuff is probably a manifestation of a far greater battle you need to face in your day to day life.

If you're referencing my long post, I was just making the argument that the Nicktoon is more Mirage flavored than anything else. You can tell that Ciro is a big Mirage fan, whereas all the Fred Wolf stuff feels like "I kinda remember this character, he was kinda cool, so here's a new version!"

he's pretty much said as much at con appearances, IIRC.

where as bay suffers from not caring...

nick turtles suffers from not caring enough and not knowing what flavor it wants to be.

What is it, week three now, and bay turtles 2 is already out of the local theaters here. it was practically gone by week 2.

Well, it premiered the afternoon of June 2nd, at least in my area, and it looks like its last local showing around here was yesterday afternoon, so they kept it going a full month/four weeks around here. Average I suppose for any film that didn't do stellar. At least it wasn't like that Jem movie, and pulled after two weeks.

Have to admit though that it made me a little sad knowing yesterday was its last showing. Wish it could have been done better and gotten a longer run...

Four weeks here too. I was hoping this and the other one I liked NYSM 2 would have gotten longer than 4 and 3 weeks. Need room with three new films, some of which might have multiple screens. I was thinking of getting a second showing in before it left.

Huh, it's still running in my local cinema. (Tried to look up when it premiered) Although it's not available on the cinema's website, I actually found it on the general main website for all the larger cinemas in Norway.

Apparently it had a screening today, and another next Wednesday half past two in one of the more crummier screening room. Guess that is the last day. No screenings between today and Wednesday, though.
