It's not just Zarius bias though. PR has stayed alive since it's debut in the 90's. Heck, i was at Walmart the other night and heard a 5 year old screaming for a PR action figure....made me feel old. Then again, just because it has stayed around since its inception doesn't mean its popularity hasn't ebbed and flowed.

Maybe the Nick show will be the kick start to Turtlemania Mark 2 we need to actually take the Turtles to a place where they do hang with Spidey....but I doubt it.

I think you missed Turtlemania mark 2 when the 4 kids show was out...

I think this is the beginning for mark 3.

4kid's run with the Turtles was nowhere near what things were like during the height if Turtlemania back in the 90's. I stand by what I said....

Maybe not the height of the 90s, but the first three seasons of the 4kids series were AMAZING! I love how well they depicted the Mirage comics.

I can see the IDW comics running for years and years. I know they have a long term plan and a very rich universe planned.

Power rangers went off air for two years I think. That And id bet it takes less cash to make powers rangers so they wouldnt have to be as big a success to stay around.

Nope, it's been going on in some fashion or another since 1993. Longest it's been off the air was the 5 1/2 months between the final ABC broadcast and the first Nickelodeon broadcast.

Though, it wasn't in production during 2010 (they just aired "special" reruns of Mighty Morphin during that year while the transfer was going on behind the scenes).

Well by off air thats what I meant from 2010-2012 there was no new episodes.

What do I expect will happen to the turtles?

I’m expecting (now as we have been told that the alien origin doesn’t really mean they’re aliens) that the movie will do well, but critics will give it “rotten” reviews like they did with the Transformers films. Overall turtle fans may enjoy it, but however, will not surpass the classic 1990 film. A few sequels will be released, and one could potentially flop causing the movie franchise to take a hiatus or something. Who knows?

The Nick cartoon will probably do very well. In fact, I’m confident it will do very well, based on what we know so far. We need something besides Spongebob Squarepants for a change. The contract is supposed to end by 2015, so that means they will probably have 3 seasons. Yet, it’s possible for a contract renewal. So, who knows? I’m hoping we get a good 5 or 7 seasons. It’s possible, but let’s keep our fingers crossed.

Overall, I think this will not really be the time where the turtles become as big as DC or Marvel superheroes. However, it can be the time where TMNT becomes big as Transformers and G.I. Joe, and it could get its own comic con. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Since Nick owns the Turtles 100%, its obvious the show will be kept on as long as possible. Simply by airing on Nickelodeon by default it will get good ratings.

While it was popular among the fans, TMNT was still a minor show of the 2000s (sadly), compared to the 1987 show. One person's opinion doesn't say much of how popular a show was.

if Nicks owns it 100% then why they said that contact will end in 2015? Becausei if it ends then how will they continue making more seasons of it?

I'm pretty sure we have a good ten more years of TMNT at least.

The contract may be up, but that only means how long this series will air. That doesn't mean they'll be giving up TMNT. It's possible that they'll do something else like Cartoon Network would do with DC superheroes like Batman. Still, with TMNT, I bet the contract may get renewed for more seasons. Don't worry.

Maybe. I'm really hoping for a good 5 or 7.
