HAH, gross.
But anyway I think having multiple spouses is a dumb idea, but mostly because I think even having ONE is too many in most cases. I don't think it's the worst thing in human history, and in fact it's an idea as old as time itself. Personally, I could see the benefit of having a "spare". Help keep the other ones in line and all that, knowing they could be replaced at any time like squeaky wheels. Y'know what, F*ck That polygamy f*cking rules. Actually nevermind, I've been with ONE batsh*t insane chick for 12 years, I can't imagine juggling a troupe. And imagine all of them getting their periods at the same time, since that tends to happen when women live in close quarters? Good GOD no. So I don't have as solid of an opinion on that one. I still just think it's stupid, because I think relationships are stupid, not because "It's supposed to be one guy/one girl." You know who made that rule? Some guy who never got laid before, trying to make sure his chick never left him for a guy with a bigger hose. Monogamy goes against every single fiber of our DNA and our human need to reproduce. If anything, monogamy is the "deviant" behavior because we're going against a genetically engineered instinct that exists in most creatures. Or maybe I just think it's better to f*ck around. I definitely don't think marriage is anything sacred worth protecting, it's honestly a f*cking joke. But anyone who wants to should be able to. I also support suicide. People deserve the freedom to make terrible decisions. |

I personally don't have a problem with polygamy or polyandry, as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult....really, as long as the party's involved are all consenting, why should any person outside the relationship even care?
What is "traditional" anyway. Who's tradition? What if one religion allows multiple wives or husbands? Why are they not free to pursue their religious beliefs? For a country that is supposed to separate church and state, we sure have a lot of laws that restrict things that don't fit the anglo christian norm. Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As long as no one else is being hut by it why restrict a group's right to their own happiness. |

Eh, maybe he don't know no better and he's occasionally funny by accident, like Rain Man. Rain Man was a comedy, right? Or did I just totally not get it?

I actually have three Chick-Fil-a places near me, and I live in NJ. I live in South Jersey, though, so maybe it's different for where you are.

The Cinema's around my area have actual problems compared to this Chick-Fil-A place. They don't allow movies to be shown that have black men and woman as lead characters.
Having an opinion isn't a bad thing, it is just some fast food restaurant anyway. Frankly I have never heard of them before. |

It is funny to see the bigots and homophobics rally to this thing. Some of my parents friends have jumped on board of this thing in support. There isn't even a chick-fil-a around where I live, and my parents and their friends have traveled over an hour out of town to eat at the closest Chick-fil-a. Next sunday, I'm going to be expected to go as well, which is replacing our normal sunday dinner. I'm not looking foward to it. This sort of thing disgusts me. I don't what all the hate is about.
It's not even really hate for gay people in general, because gay women seem to be ok for the most part, it's just gay men. Which really boils down to what gets some guys off and what turns them off, as what is acceptable or "immoral." Two chicks tongue wrestling at a your friends cocktail party--hell yeah! Two dudes doing it, OMG that is immoral and gross, get it out of my face! Quote:

It will be a wasted trip if you're going on Sunday. They aren't open on Sundays.
I disagree with the stance of the guy....but he has the right to say that. Totally stupid to represent an opinion like that when you are speaking for a business, but no one should be surprised that an openly Christian business would have that stance. |

You know Antoine Dodson from the "Bed Intruder" video came out in support of Chick-Fil-A. Yeah I know why should you care about him? Well he's an openly gay man. It's sad when an Internet celebrity seems to be the only sane person in this debate. http://www.inquisitr.com/286126/anto...-waffle-fries/ Last edited by Xav; 08-07-2012 at 03:22 AM. |

the gays should be so lucky they arent allowed to marry. i wish they would outlaw hetero marriages too. lol. kidding, but this idea that marriage is some divine structure as opposed to business negotiation with the state............as you can tell, im not religous......
as far as chik fila is concerned, i think there are 2 differing issues going on here. there is their view. and then there is their right to state their view. and i believe people are rallying over the latter instead of the former. i dont agree with their view. i do agree with their right to say it. and further more, why the hell does everyone love chickfila anyways? the sandwiches are small, expensive and dont come with any condiments on them! what the hell man. this is 'murica! sauce that mess up! im protesting their crap sandwiches. |

Everyone has the right to free speech. It's absolutely one of the most important rights we as humans have.
The problem is that we are all indeed human. And when one or more human beings says to another specific group of human beings, "You are, in some way, less than us, not as good as us, and don't deserve to be treated as equal to us, you don't have the exact same rights the rest of us human beings have," it diminishes and can indeed come to criminalize that group being spoken to/of. And that is wrong. There is simply no way it is NOT wrong. All people have the exact same rights by their very definition as "human beings". That includes free speech, the right to eat over-priced fast-food chicken sandwiches, and the right for everyone, even gay people, to get married. You have the right to disagree with that concept, that everyone is "allowed" do the exact same things as everyone else, but I personally think it's kinda nuts. You either believe "all men are created equal", or you don't. Seems pretty simple to me. Sure, you can say "This person has the right to segregate a group of people and give them a different list of what's 'Allowed' and what isn't, to say they're 'not equal' to everyone else," but when has that ever worked out well? I seem to remember things starting that way for Hitler and ending with him blowing his brains out after a lot of people were needlessly killed in between. For being "different", and not being allowed the same basic rights as everyone else. When you look at the big picture, there's really no difference at all. |

Ok to play devil advocate for a second gay people do have the same rights as everyone else a gay man can still marry a women and a gay women can still marry a man, but what about people who want to marry a kid or marry an animal would you say they don't have the same rights as every else?

Leo, if you're trying to make pro-gay marriage people look idiotic, you couldn't have done better. Opposition to gay marriage is nothing like Naziism. It's not denying homosexuals any rights that anyone else has. It's not denying them the right to live together, to vote, to work, or anything else whatsoever that anyone else doesn't have. So you might want to avoid such cheap comparisons in the future if you want to be taken seriously.

Anyone who's against gay marriage is a religious bigot and even though I don't normally express any Pentecostal belief, I think anyone who judges or persecutes others based on sexual preference will have no place in God's House. Marriage is an expression of love and getting a marriage license is an expression of taxation. Religion has nothing to do with it until someone puts it there. Homosexuals have every right to be as miserable and unhappy as everyone else. Let them get married; who does it hurt?
As for Chick-Fil-A, I think Maddox said it best: Quote:
