Did he actually voice himself there? I've never seen it, but having heard of it, I assumed they used someone who could sound remotely similar. Like how Brad Garrett voiced Hulk Hogan in some old Hulk Hogan cartoon.

This was a good episode, great fighting scenes and some good jokes. Spiderbites was a boring villain though. He was funny from time to time but looked ridiculous once he got mutated, so I'm hoping for cooler/better villains in the future. Looking forward to the next episode though, seems we're getting som Foot Clan action!

Yep! Ole Chuck voiced himself in the series. All 5 episodes. *lol*

foxzerro:yeah, agree..I actually was more commentin on HOW he will get mutated some day, I actually don't think either he will be in the next episode...maybe even the next FEW episodes...just his description in the story synopsis and the card back I think of his character...there was something that made me understand he will be along as a human character a while and then turn into the hound from hell

I'm finding that I'm enjoying the show in spite of myself. This is not the sort of work that stands up to any sort of scrutiny.

Random thoughts:
  • Why and how is April Don's source? What could she figure out that Don wouldn't?
  • The plot seemed anachronistic. If obnoxious pre-mutant #2 is in tune with modern Youtube culture enough to immediately whip out his camera phone, I feel that he should be savvy enough to know that people don't pay for that sort of stuff, and that he should definitively be smart enough to know to make a backup copy.

In fact, for all of Don's talk about the guy having a cell phone and not a camera, he seemed pretty oblivious to the fact that in all likelihood, getting rid of the cell phone wouldn't solve the problem at all.
  • Still getting a bully vibe from Raphael. And the other turtles relished the opportunity to get under their brother's skin far too much for my liking.
  • Was it just me, or were the Kraang actually stealing Mutagen from whatever it is they were raiding? I don't see any other reason to explain them carrying stuff into their van.
  • I wonder if we'll ever see someone take over Snake's role inside the Kraang's organization.
  • Spiderbites' design is cool, although like Snakeweed, I don't see much of a role for him as a long-term villain.
  • I was actually surprised to see the video get seemingly destroyed. I was expecting it to get online, where it would catch the Foot's attention.
  • Could somebody please confirm if Leo ever got to slash any of the Kraang in their human suits? I got the impression that he didn't, but I'm not 100% certain.
  • I find it somewhat weird that Splinter (still the second best thing about the show) is telling different bits and pieces of his past to different turtles. It's not implausible, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.
  • The fighting continues to be a highlight; the way its choreographed makes up for how sanitized it seems, which is something the 4Kids toon only occasionally managed.

I learned earlier this week that some of the people working on the show had previously worked on Teen Titans, and that's probably the show that's the best match to this TMNT, comparison-wise. If it manages to be as good as that show was, then I'll be satisfied. That said, like Teen Titans, I doubt this show will stick we met he way the 4Kids toon did.

I have to say when I first saw the pictures of Spider Bytes I wasn't impressed. Still not a hundred percent impressed with him, but Lewis Black voicing him really helped. And I kind of do what a figure of him.

I find it interesting that people say they would have liked more of the old Playmates figures to be in the OT, and now we are getting more mutants that will surely be toys but people a bemoaning them being in the show.

Is the preview for next week online?

This episode was good, but not great. Rather simple plot but the highlights were Raph and Splinter. I don't really care for Spiderbites.

Hopefully episodes like this, which were good but not great, is the worst this show gets, because this was still good.

I like Splinter telling his backstory to different Turtles. It gives him more character development and gives us a glimpse of what his human life was like.

Also, I don't get a bully vibe from Raph. He just has a temper, and Splinter was trying to teach him to ignore the insults, which is why he had the others insult him. It was a lesson Splinter was trying to impart that he himself had to learn in his own life. It makes him seem more like a parent trying to encourage their children not to make the mistakes they made when they were younger.

His inabibility to tell a turtle and frog apart made me wonder if my favorite ally, The Punk Frogs could ever come back. They would work great as a team B if ever needed!

okay..here we go again...cybercucbed, this is YOUR oppinion..how in the world should a show promis you as one single viewer to alway entertain you first class...inEVERYTHING we experience there are things that you don'tlike and things that you like very much, so common..give us some slack, will ya?

I just saw th episode and loved itsplinter was really funny, the comic book flashbacks really knock me off my feet!Im surprised not more of you mention them..this is a part of the show that Ican eagerly look forward to..but this statement is really not saying much again, because so far the show itself is so enteraining and a joy to exerience that everything is to be looked forward to actually..
I have to tell you the music is also such a pleasant well crafted and fiting adition to the verall product I can't beleave our luck with this show...
amazing!especially in the flashbacks scenes and the scoping out the kraang headquartrs sequence, as well as the rooftop spying from episode two..incredible!
speaking of which:the short rooftop fight made my heart swell, toolooked so very eautiful in my mind...hey-did anyone else felt reminded of movie one when it raphael wanted to avoid splinters story?

You act like he's not allowed to state his thoughts. Obviously we know its his opinion, but he shouldn't have to say "NOTE: The below post is my opinion".

My problem with this episode is it didn't feel like anything new. We have another battle with the Kraang and another mutant who we met as a human.

We learn nothing new about the Kraang, the mutant this time is uninteresting outside of good fight scenes, and the episode felt too repetitive. We also see nothing of April which is a bad idea.

The good parts of the episode was everything about Raph and Splinter.

I hope this is not what this show will be like most weeks, being a kids show doesn't mean it has to be repetitive. Mutant of the week can be done well, but this was just the same situation as last time.
