I really enjoyed this episode! I loved seeing Casey -- love this version of him -- and Leo was just plain awesome here.

I don't get IGN's reviews. They purposely rate episodes lower if they're fillers and don't "advance the plot," yet he gives mediocre episodes like "The Kraang Conspiracy" high reviews simply because we found out April's origin.

I'm pretty sure that this is the best "mutant of the week episode"...it was so good it didn't even feel like one. I'll go over each fear and what I thought of them.

April: I felt terrible for April, she's going through a lot. Her fear was not only scary (bats alone are pretty creepy, Kirby is just downright terrifying) but she's also traumatized and has to live with the knowledge that her father is basically gone, and can hurt her since he's so messed up now. Again, I really felt bad for April and I feel like this added to her character a lot more, since we don't usually see her like this.

Casey: His was just done for laughs, really...but it wasn't all bad, I guess. I would say that we should've saw something that he really fears, like, something important, but we still don't really know him a a character too much yet, so it's no biggie.

Raph: I hated Raph's...sure he's afraid of cockroaches, but as his GREATEST FEAR? I don't think so. I feel like they gave him and Mikey stupid fears so that Leo would seem more mature or whatever. I think Raph's greatest fear should've been not being able to protect his family in a fight, and/or seeing them get hurt.

Mikey: Also hated Mikey's. I don't even remember him being THAT scared of the Squirrelanoids. Just like Raph's, this was done for laughs. I can imagine his real greatest fear is being separated from his family or being alone without anyone to talk to.

Donnie: Ok, Don's was also done for laughs...but it was the only one that actually made me laugh out loud. I also found it to be more of him being scared of just not being accepted for being a mutant by ANYONE, not just April (although they did imply it was just April). The funniest part was when they showed three miniature April's on Casey's shoulder's kissing him, but then it turns out it was really three rats crawling on him and he's screaming

Leo: We all know Leo's was the best, the only one that wasn't comedy based except for April.

So, April and Leo definitely had the best. As much as I would've liked to see "real fears" from the others, the episode wouldn't have been nearly as funny without the ones they used. A great, really fun episode. But if I had to complain: Why not show a fear from Splinter? That would've been great, we would've seen how he really feels about his daughter and more. Also, this episode was the perfect opportunity to bring certain characters back. Sure, they brought back Kirby and the Squirrelanoids, but I was waiting for Rat King to show up durig Casey's fear and Cockroach Terminator during Raph's. So, great episode...I really enjoyed it.

since everyone is focusing on donnies fear, i think everyones missing probably the most bad ass donnie has looked, when he was fighting the mushrooms

Well, that is possibly the oddest episode in the world and the directors probably went a little crazy. The ep are getting pretty odd, hopefully the metal head one won't be exploring the mentality of the turtles, the directors, and us.
In short a good fear episode, if a little on the wacky side, and loved the Mega Death Mushroom at the end, really cool.

At this point, it really needs to blow up, actually. I do think the show is playing the long game here.

Yeah Jester, I was hoping his would have something to do with the whole curing mutations thing. They could have incorporated April into that while chastising him for his failures or something.

Hence why it's just an okay episode to me.

It doesn't have any significant purpose or epicness like Slash and Destroy. It's just barely there. Not as bad as Mutation Situation but not great either, just okay.

Great Leo/Filler episode.

Leo's fear and response was epic.

Raph's...well, I'm still shocked by how gross this show is willing to get. Those roaches made me itchy. I'm happy that the CGI is steadily improving, but that was a bit too realistic.

I thought that Mikey's fear would be a bit more serious than the squirreloids, but whatever. I'm not too angry.

And Donnie irritated me. His "crush" is now a delusion-filled obsession. I expect better. He was a douche to Casey for no reason. Not cool, bro. Out of all of the turtles, it seems that Donnie has the biggest problem with being a mutant. April kept calling him a freak during his greatest fear and he even mentioned being a freak in Mutagen Man Unleashed.

Nice to see Kirby Bat and Casey again.

Few other things:

• Love that Donnie is using his Naginata more and more this season
• Mikey fighting skills are getting better and better.
• CAPTAIN RYAN! Was it just me, or was is voice different?
• This is probably the best animated episode of the show. It really looked incredible.

Yeah. Donnie's reaction to Casey informing them that he lost April was like "I don't like the fact you and April hang out together and have have been thankfully very tolerant about it. But how dare you lose her..." And geez Mikey certainly wasn't helping anything by saying she could be devoured by a croc

Well, someone posted it on you-tube a couple of hours ago, so thankfully I got to watch it. Usually I end up having to wait a couple of days until someone uploads it, but this one went up pretty fast for a change.

And now for my thoughts: Definitely one of the better eps, IMHO. I loved how all of their fears manifested in one of the others- Mikey and Raph seeing each other as their fear, Donnie and April doing the same- it made it all the more horrifying that they were seeing each other as something they were afraid of, and running from their own team. Nice touch, there.

On Donnie's fear- I didn't see it as JUST him being afraid of April hating him, but of her rejecting and blaming him for her father, and his insecurity at being a mutant. Until Casey showed up, he had a clear field, and now he has to deal with KNOWING that she has someone else to go to about all her problems. That's gotta' play on his worries about her not wanting him.

Mikey's fear seemed- odd, given that he didn't appear particularly scared of them originally, but then again, he seems to have a general fear of monsters to begin with, and those things were really gross and creepy. My guess is that it's just the most obvious form his fear could take, since he already knows they are real. As opposed to the other monsters in his comics, which have so far all been imaginary. His REAL fear might be seeing the monsters in his imagination coming to life. Which those did.

Raph- he's kind of obvious. Since we knew he was afraid of roaches, it was sort of a given, but just seeing HOW he saw them was really horrific in itself. I'd freak too, if my sibling's head fell off and roaches came out. Raph's fear seemed like an extension of both the loss of family (Mikey) AND being overrun by roaches. Remember, he lives in a sewer, and that fear might not be as far-fetched as we like to think.

Leo's was kind of predictable, but how he dealt with it was very cool, and I was REALLY rooting for him in that fight, which I don't often do with him. Usually, his need to prove himself in front of the others seems a little self-important, but this time around, I actually LIKED seeing him stepping up.

Side-note: The dancing mushrooms were hilarious! And that little twerking one at the end? That was hysterical! Mikey's Mario ref, the Captain Ryan scene, there were so many moments of pure comic gold here, in spite of the "dark" nature of this episode. Made it so much fun to watch.

Donnie's reaction to Casey was unnecessary yeah but it wasn't just him being as ass, because from what he heard, Casey lost April screaming and terrified in the sewers. It wasn't cause he's jealous of Casey, he was just pissed Casey lost her.

And his fear was of her hating him, not her not loving him. He's terrified of losing her altogether as a friend and In his fear, she blames him for her father and calls him a freak.

You guys are being too hard on Apriltello...I think it's really cute. Sure, I'd like them to cut back a little so that Don isn't completely obsessed and April can spend some time with the other turtles...but I don't understand why some of you want it gone completely. I think it gives Don more character, but the problem is that none of us want to see it become his WHOLE character. Like...the whole concept is good but how they're executing it needs to change just a bit.
