Well actually, I can only use DirectConnect, mIRC won't connect for me. I'm sure it must be something to do with the firewall in XP, but still. I guess I'll have to wait for it to be passed around. :p

Likewise, Michaelangelo. I have XP and can access mIRC.

Raphael, do you have a router and a broadband connection.

I have a broadband connection, but not a router. I also use "Sygate Personal Firewall". But, I don't think that has anything to do with it, because I've shut down Sygate before and tried to get onto mIRC but it won't let me.

The guy's on DC right now, and there's only 10 minutes left so hopefully he'll let me finish it.

Edit: Scratch that, he's gone again. I think he's doing it on purpose.

So my encodes don't look good at 320X240??

I'll be upgrading my pc soon, So I hope to do larger size encodes, say 640x480.

They look good to me. A lot of people requested your version since Saturday, including me. I don't see why some people complain about them.

DarthRaphael, I have your encodes of the first two episodes and they look great. How much would a filesize difference be for 640x480 though, roughly double?

They look good, but since some people want higher resolution, now we have encoder for that in our channel too. Don't worry, people were still asking for your encode, and it's shared in the channel too. But last saturday you were late, and he covered for you. It doesn't hurt to have many diffrent versions.

Cool.
The filesize is 160MB for a 320x240 encode becasue I like to watch the eps in 640x480, sometimes full screen, and it looks OK to me. The 640x480 is the best to watch it at. I could make the file smaller, keep the 320x240 quality, but you could not resize it at all. Does anyone resize my encodes??

Anyway, I can't encode at 640x480 yet becasue Virtual Dub does not work well with WDM drivers, and my card uses WDM drivers. I will be upgrading my PC soon and using PowerVCR to do episode encoding. I am not sure if I will continue do DIVX at that point, or use MPEG II.

Anyway, I'm glad that there are people that appreciate the work I do, and I'm glad to be part of the larger encoding comunity. It is nice that there are so many choices for TMNT G2 enjoyment, considering we are all stuck with the Anuerism encodes of TMNT G1.

Oh, and BTW, I apologize to PWDESAI for jumping on him so fast. I guess I was a little defensive about my work. Character flaw maybe. He was just trying to be helpful. Thanks for the input.

I watch them always in full screen because of TV-out.

Are you saving all the episodes in raw quality, for reencoding later? I guess that would take up huge amounts of disk space but it would make it possible to make several different versions of the episodes, as you come up with different encoding techniques and so on. I'd love to see a 640x480 version.

Yes, I have all 3 raw encodes at about 700Mb a piece.
They were encodes at 320x240, and don't look too well re-encoded at 640x480. Once the upgrade is complete, I'll do the raw encodes at 640x480.

Sweet!

I'm also curious to know if you're saving the "on the next Ninja Turtles", showed after the episode, in your raw files. They're always fun to watch when an episode is fresh but I guess they're a waste of space if you already have the episode mentioned in the preview. But releasing two versions is a bit overkill I guess.

By the way, which resolution do the raw ones have?

No, they're fine the way they are. I have hard drive space to think about, you know

Nah they look good to me dude
Of course if you could make em higher resolution i for one wouldnt mind, after all i bet quality would increase...no matter what the filesize is (I'm guessing a raw re-encoded to divx shouldn't be much bigger than 200 mb.)

Oh..
Well i got your solution right here!
1) Get a PC...i mean a real pc...either that, or get a more irc friendly os like linux or windoze or whatever.
2) Install mirc
3) Start downloading
I've heard macs play only video but no sound on divx files so i guess even if you download the files it would be pretty much useless.
I don't use macOS so i don't think i can help you there
