Thank You! i think more people need to understand this. one incarnation of the turtles that you dont like doesnt have to ruin tmnt for you. theres so much out there that you can still enjoy. and with that, changes, like adding clothing to them, should really be seen as a good thing. i mean, yeah we all love the original basic designs, but this is something new and different. it keeps it interesting. and its building off of other incarnations, like taking the heights and builds from the nick show.

so yeah you may like these designs/movie, you may not, but just enjoy it for what you can as another take on tmnt

^This, plus there's still DVDs of all the stuff from TMNT ever. I LOATHE the "You're raping my childhood!!" crap, since that childhood is available to be viewed too.

Just to speak for myself, it's not a 'raping the childhood' thing.

It's the 'wasting of potential' thing.

I agree. I mean, I still think TMNT 3 has the worst looking turtles... and I just ignore that film. This movie will either be "ignored" like movie 3 for me, or not.
But there are still the comics, the games, and the DVDs and current TV show.
I never said "They're raping my childhood".

Oh, I seen all those. I thought he meant there was a better image of Donnie posted somewhere else.

I think it goes real well, both look gritty and Donnie looks like he plugs right in LOL. However not sold on the product placement(pizza hut sofa).

...why/how would I enjoy something if I don't like it?

Pizza Hut sofa and Nike gear on Leo.
Yea, I wonder if this movie will have as much, or more, product placement as Man Of Steel.

Don looks like he could plug into the Matrix lol.

I like these a lot. Still the first positive reaction I've had to what we know about the film so far.

That is all.

EDIT --

Damn, just saw Shredder. I like that too.

The whole approach isn't my preferred aesthetic, and it definitely isn't definitive, but it seems unique and cohesive and interesting, and those are all big pluses.

If you dont like it.... if you wont give it a try...
then that's it. No point dragging it out.

He was just saying, it's not what we're used to but just enjoy it for what it is, it's own thing: variation of what we know.

find the parts you can enjoy. maybe youll like the plot of the movie. maybe the fighting scenes. maybe the voice actors. you dont have to like everything in this movie to enjoy it to some extent. i cant name one tmnt series i love everything about, yet i still enjoy them.

and once again, if for some reason you cant find anything to enjoy, then oh well, this wont be the last tmnt incarnation. maybe youll like the next one better. in the mean time enjoy the incarnations you do like

There was product placement in Man of Steel?

I'm seriously asking because I don't remember seeing any.

Go back and re-watch the film. A fight even took place inside of an Ihop or something...
Yea, lots of stores and brands.

The Smallville fight damages a Sears, a IHOP, and I think a Shell 7-11.

EDIT: Hooray Internetz!

Oh yeah.

Eh, unless it's super obnoxious and in your face, I really can't fault them for it.

Ihops are everywhere in the real world.

Sure it could have been "Diner" Diner, but that's actually more glaring, to me, than seeing an Ihop or something.

I never see that kinda stuff anyway if the movie's engaging enough. And Man of Steel was definitely engaging.

meh.

looks like next mutation. i don't like the look of the turtles or shredhead.

i'm still not going to pay to see this in the theater. if the rumors and script revisions are true, "acceptable" turtle designs would just be band-aids. especially if there is any weight to Vernon having a stronger more heroic role in the film. i haven't personally read the original script or the revision (not for a lack of trying) but i have zero confidence in it, personally.

and for the record, i'm not a "hater". i've been a loooong time lurker of the technodrome, i just haven't been that active of a member. i love the shell out of TMNT. the truth is this live action version isn't my flavor, nor am i the demographic the studio is shooting for.
