Yeah that's my concern.

It's nice to know you are easily entertained and hold absolutely the lowest possible standard for the TMNT. Congrats, the low standards is probably why the TMNT will never be held to esteem like Batman, Superman, Ironman and other reputable comic book movies, because people like you easily accept the low brow.

well PD and Micheal bay and Leibsman don't cause me to go in full on nerd rage like some people in this movie section/ internet forums. I don't expect much from a movie about 4 turtles and their rat sensei fighting a ninja master and his ninja clan while befriending a news reporter.

I can't wait to see how Casey Bebop and Rocksteady look in the sequel.

Dude that's kinda mean. Just because someone likes the movie doesn't give you the right to criticize other people's opinions.

If there's an offer to watch the sequel for free, by buying a TMNT DVD, then I'll probably watch it. I just hope they won't take forever to show off the Turtles again.

No need to get snippy with each other.... people who like the movies are just as much fans as those who did not enjoy the film. No need to treat each other like second class humans for having different opinions..

Actually, in context to what the pro movie people do, it's perfectly acceptable. If any of us was not happy about anything about the movie, we were labeled haters, purists, fanboys, snobs and whatnot! And like it or not, the movie is designed for the lowest common denominator.

So you decide to complete the circle of stupidity by insulting someone that said nothing personally to you at all.

Way to go champ. You really showed them.

Warhorse, you've just proven the point I made in my post. There is Zero need for being insulting and calling people 'the lowest denominator'.

A lot of people liked the movie. Just accept it. Insulting people will just make them less willing to read your opinion because you're being PERSONAL about it. There is no need for personal attacks. I don't know how many times I have to say it.

And yes, there are pro-movie people who have been equally as obnoxious. I tell them the same thing. Being a jerk about your opinion or other's opinions just makes it harder for people to come together about Anything. You do not change their minds about the movie, only their opinion about You.

No offense, but honestly, I really don't care what people think of me, nor am I trying to change anybody's mind, I'm just stating that I don't think the movie is offering anything, and I don't think much of the reasons people are using who are cheerleaders of the movie. Nothing more, nothing less. And I also believe that in time, this movie verse will fade to existence pretty much like Next Mutation did, except for maybe a few sound bites here and there. I don't understand what the big deal is here.

That has been bugging me for awhile and since you're a mod, I figured I'd ask you.

As for the movie, I still haven't seen it because I been caught up in college assignments along with some weird college B.S.
as of late.

This is the URL from a youtube video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Zk7BOtxFGU
You take the 11 (or so) characters after the "v=" and put that in the Youtube tags:

And done.

Funny thing was I kept getting fussed at because the tag was too long or something similar to that whenever I went to the edit tags option..

Turns out that I was editing the tags in the wrong place like a newb.

Looks like the video finally went through. If that was you, thanks.

Think I'm figuring it out now..

I am one of the few people that really enjoyed this movie, The only thing that bugged me, Was Megan Fox. Well April O'neil. She was put in the spotlight the entire time.
This is a turtles film, So next time guys, Make it more about the turtles and Less about Megan o'neil.

I liked the movie too but there was a lot to be desired. I felt that there were times that they didn't focus as much on the turtles. And when they did, they kind of focused on the humor aspect rather than the dark and gritty aspects which greatly contradicts the whole redesign issue. And I just disliked the whole origin of how the turtles and Splinter came to be.

It's a movie with potential but they didn't take full advantage of what it could have been in my eyes.

To be fair, at one point people would have said the same about pretty much any comic/superhero movie. But a lot of people - filmmaker, producers, actors and audiences - have raised their expectations and demands and now we're getting superhero films that are legitimately good movies instead of... well, this:

It's totally your right to enjoy whatever you enjoy, of course. And I don't expect anyone else to share my tastes. But I don't think it's too unreasonable to expect a TMNT movie that's a good movie on its own terms. Comic movies that are widely loved by audiences, fans and critics have kinda become the norm these days. The bar's already at that level.

And yet they still managed to screw that up.

Don't lower your standards. I mean I can also say 'I don't expect much from a guy running around dressed as a bat chasing a guy dresses like a clown'.

Why must tmnt be held as such a low regard and not be taken serious enough to compete with the other bigger better and well thought out superhero movies? Why is it considered low enough to be put through the bayformers treatment?

Are you fans at all? Don't you consider that the characters of your fandom (and reason of you coming to this forum to begin with) deserve better? Or are you really that desperate that any piece of Draco with the tmnt label is automatically the most awesome thing ever without caring about quality or if it's even good or not.

Exactly. This movie is as bad as the old captain America movies. Kill it now and bring on a TRUE tmnt trilogy of marvel films or Nolan standards

Well, wasn't really directly comparing them - just making a point re: levels of quality. At the time that's about all anyone expected of these properties.

And while the BayTurtles movie has expensive special effects and production values, I still feel that the writing is poor, the plot is illogical and nonsensical (even by the standards of the world it established) and there's just no heart or emotion to the thing. And that's the stuff that makes all the difference. All I'm really asking for it good writing and directing, a story that makes sense, and characters I care about. And this failed on all counts.

Yeah. Those are all valid points I agree on. I was also comparing them because the older cap films were made with the idea of 'who cares it's a comic book movie', which is kinda what this one suffered. 'We'll just make a lot of explosions and action. Toss in cgi, Megan fox bending over and throw in a pizza scene and have the orange one say cowabunga at least once and bam. The suckers will eat it up. Worked for transformers....'

Tmnt deserved something better with heart and effort and made by people that actually gave a damn.
