Well they are not fully Super Heroes yet if you compare them to likes of Superman and Spider-Man etc but I compared them to the original TMNT, and the difference is big. But like I said before, it's not Mirage it's Fox BOx TMNT and as long as they keep the good stories up I'm fine with the semi heroism. |

Yeah, they sometimes do get gung-ho over some things, like investigating the blackouts, but that soon turned to fun until they noticed the Foot sneaking around. But they aren't vigilantes the way Casey is/was. They all have good hearts, and have been taught to help those in need. They do commit acts of heroism, they can do no less, but they don't make a "profession" out of it. But I do think The Big Bad has a point, that Leo's actions in this episode are fueled by guilt, even if that blame is all in his head. |

Like I said I was comparing them to the Mirage characters, who rather not interfere with the lives of humans [in the first volume anyway] but usually stop criminals if they see them. They certainly wouldn't jump to save an enemy who tried to kill them nor ganngsters from an exploding bulding...
But they are bery different characters who happen to come across similar situations as the Mirage TMNT. Heretic has said many times that the Fox Box TMNT are more like the old toon charcaters than Mirage ones, and I'm starting to agree with that point. |

Next week... can't wait... same stuff I usually say inserted here...
As I hypothisized the subplots about Casey and April aren't going to make it into this story arch, so I'm just gonna enjoy all this cool action. Anyway, I actually taped this, but I wasn't paying attention for some reason (perhaps I was a bit tired, or I was having an off day) so I'll have to watgch it again tomorrow!

On another note, I'm not trying to be hostile here, OR flame anyone, especially not a fellow TMNT fan, but you just caught a bit off-guard with this one. If you think I'm mad at you, I'm not. Just a bit confused, is all. Back to topic, though, I LOVED this ep! Leo has proved, once and for all, that he ISN'T perfect (I never thought he was, myself), but that he has a good heart. All he has in mind is to protect his hometown (NYC) from the mess it's about to face. Raph knows what's going to happen and is just trying to protect Leo from himself. Love that. Raph being the sensible, level-headed one and trying to get Leo to see reason for once, rather that the other way around. I can't shake the feeling, though, that Splinter is going to rip Leo a new breathing hole once this whole mess is over......... Can't wait to see Parts Two and Three!

I think it's a very good balance. They have the basic Mirage, but the characters need to be a little more "obvious" for their target audience. But I don't think it's really over the top, with the exception of Mikey at some points. But even then, behind the lightheartness, Mikey isn't a dim bulb.
On video tape legalities... it is NOT illegal to tape shows off TV for your own personal use. Selling these tapes for profit, however is. If it was illegal, VCR's wouldn't have a record button, and they'd just be VCP's. |

Oh, I see. That's sorta what I thought, but wasn't really sure. I tape the shows I do for my personal use, and for that reason ONLY. Doing it TO sell them IS illegal, and I think it's called "boot-legging". The only time I might make an extra is for my equally Turtle-crazy, 12-year-old niece, and the only reason that I do that is because her family doesn't have Fox on their satellite set-up (her mom (my youngest sis) hates Fox, for some odd reason), so I told her that I'd tape the eps for me, then tape a set off for her use ONLY. 'Course, when they start up on Cartoon Network, she'll be able to do it herself, 'cause they DO have CN...though I might give her a hand with it.
My profound apologies to host_puntny if I came off as hostile in my last post. I wasn't trying to be. Sorry.

Ppl sometimes illegally sell eps on eBay. I will admit I bought some, that's b/c it was too hard to d/l them all and it was the only way I could aquire them. Oh well.

Don't get me wrong, while I don't like those few things about their behaviour , I still very much like the series and think that after Mirage and the first movie they are the best written TMNT. |

Well there's about several episodes where the TMNT do some heroic deeds. but it's not like they're becoming superheros and show themselves into the public. since only a few people know about them besides April and Casey.
Ofcourse there's nothing wrong about doing the right thing for once a while. There's no saying that they can't save anyone at all. This option makes me think of this quote from "Attack of the Mousers" "Aren't you always telling us to do the right thing?" "As you grow older you'll learn what the right thing is"

Also, I can't see how Leonardo was missing those bullseye's. I don't care how bad of a day he is having, he is a ninja he should be able to hit something with a sword instead of missing two times in a row. I think a 2 year old could hit a bullseye with a sword. |
