I made this avatar for myself yesterday before I even saw this thread! Wicked!

Ross, thanks again for your work on the turtles. I think what I like about your interpretation is similar to what i like about the new Nick cartoon: there've been many great artistic takes on the TMNT over the years, but few get the whole "teenage" part right. They often look very bulky, not very teenagey at all.

But in your art there is a sense of youthfulness to the turtles. They actually LOOK like teens to me. I just love it.

Thanks again and I'm definitely going to be following your work!

Big thanks to all of the IDW folks. You guys are tops.

Zulitha, thank you to you, too!! i appreciate the kind words. i know what you mean about the Turtles seeming youthful, it's cool to see them playing up that aspect in the new Nickelodeon TMNT.

i feel like i sound like a broken record at this point but all the support and everything really does mean a ton to me, it's super cool and such an honor. it doesn't get better than this. <3

i don't want to clog this place up with artwork posts, i think there's an artwork thread elsewhere here, but if anyone's interested and you haven't yet, check out my latest TMNT stuff: http://mooncalfe.deviantart.com/gallery/24484975 there was a TMNT Week going on with one of the art groups i'm a member of and i posted a drawing every day of the week, haha. culminating with my TMNT fan-comic drawing which somebody cross-posted here on forum.

Simply my most preferred turtles design till date. I just read the Leonardo microseries today.
My new avi and sig are a testimony of this greatness.
I definitely prefer Ross Cambell's style to the main IDW issues style.

Like I said in your other thread, you don't just get what you want like a spoiled kid. This is a big business with their own plans, and professional artists with their own projects to be concerned with.

Like I said in the other thread, Ross did the Leonardo micro and with a possible new set of micros in April, they will need people to work on them. Planning projects in advance means it is possible allocate time in the future.

A shame. If he had time to do more issues the comic would just be too frickin good. Not that it isin't now. I'll buy other comics hes working on though

thank you! right now what's keeping me so busy is GLORY at Image Comics, written by Joe Keatinge, but i also have my own solo series i've been working on over the years, like WET MOON which just had its 6th volume come out last month from Oni Press (and which got me an Eisner nomination back in 2007!), and SHADOWEYES which is a vigilante teen angst comic that has 2 volumes so far and has some TMNT-inspired elements. you can check that out for free on shadoweyes.net, i post a page every Monday. i have some other things i've done but those are the main ones.
