Riiiiiiiight...

Actually, I think it's funny. I love seeing Raph get jealous over nothing -- as long as I'm out of striking distance, anyway...

*raises an eyebrow at Machias* As I remember, you did manage to whip Raph up into a jealous rage in ATFT. Actually Mike did with his stupid prank. *thinks* Actually, the second time was my fault. Leo ain't too fun when he's jealous either.

Yeah, tell me about it. Leo's usually pretty mild mannered *has sudden thought of Leo in a suit and big black glasses a-la-Clark Kent * but when he gets mad, he gets REALLY mad.

Yeah, tell me about it. I've experienced that first hand. Come to think about it, so had Machias. Man, Leo loses his temper more than Raph does in our RP.

*rubs sore cheek*

I dont think I've ever seen Leo get into so much trouble before. And as for Raph, he plays dirty, like when he stole my bathing suit.....

*plots evil things to do to Raph*

what?!

"The ninja/kunoichi thing has confused many people. Kunoichi aren't simply female ninja, it's a whole separate martial art form similar to ninjutsu. As much as we'd love to say men and women are equal, they aren't. Women are built, move, and think differently from men, and therefore fight differently. Women can practice ninjutsu, but kunoichi-jutsu takes advantage of feminine strengths. "

Im sorry, but i actually DO know about ninja, ninpo, and ninjutsu.... and this post i quoted is big load of poppycock. You will very easily notice that ninpo taijutsu utilized natural relanxed body movement without an emphasis on muscular strength or prowess. A kunoichi would study almost identical martial arts as a male ninja operative.

Ummm... is there a particular reason you're dredging up long-forgotten threads so you can correct us?

Okay, but we hardly ever use those terms anyway, so it's really not that big of a deal. At least, I don't ever use them. But thanks for the info!

Jerk.

Look, I study ninjutsu too, and I do have my facts together. Maybe in your style they teach men and women the same way, but I don't personally agree with that idea. Yes, the martial arts aspects of ninjutsu were similar for men and women, but traditionally, women were trained to be spies, to appear innocent and weak, then use that to their advantage. They were psychological fighters more than physical, and even had weapons especially made for their use.

I'm not saying that the styles were vastly different, just that there were specific elements unique to each. And today, in our "equality based" society, men and woman are trained the same way, for better or worse.

Oh, I didn't notice this before.

Kali, which 'style' of ninjutsu do you study?? Bujinkan?? Genbukan?? Jinenkan??

And, traditionally, the only difference in how men and women were taught would be in emphasis not in content. They would still learn largely the same weaponry and kata and waza. And the same combat principles would be emphasized.

It is not correct to call what the women studied 'kunoichijutsu' as it was not actually a separate art. The kunoichi simply took the aspects of ninjutsu that were more important to their line of work and focused on them.

Ninpo Ikkan.

You realize that you just resurrected this thread just to get an answer of "I don't know", don't you?

Honestly, there is no style I study. "Jane of all trades, master of none". At the moment I see the martial arts through the eyes of a writer, an artist, not a practitioner. All I understand is that I don't understand everything about ninjutsu and related subjects, as you've so wonderfully pointed out on multiple occasions. What I do know is... unexplainable in this context, it would be like trying to describe an emotion. I deal in essence, not detail.

When I started learning about ninjutsu, I didn't have the time or resources to do much else with it. And now that I do, I've got medical problems to deal with. But honestly, and don't take this the wrong way, you aren't exactly inspiring me to take up the art.
