20th Anniversary of Cowboy Bebop

20 years, its been 20 years since the 1st episode of Cowboy Bebop premiered and what a legacy this show created. A show so good that even people who say they don't enjoy anime can still appreciate this work of art.. The show explores the concepts of memories,sins, religion, human interaction, crime, brotherhood/family, technology, space, love, redemption and etc. Add to that with a great music soundtrack and awesome fight scenes and you got one of the best anime in history.

I actually watched it for the very first time early this year. I was surprised how episodic it was, there wasn't much continuity from ep to ep besides the main cast growing and that one villain who appeared in the middle of the season and at the end. Every ep was mostly just a self-contained villain or plot.

The fanservice in the show at least wasn't too intrusive, Faye walked around with her breasts poking out of her top but it's not as bad as modern anime. And at least there was no loli fanservice on Ed, I fear if the show was made today there would have been.

One of the few anime series I like just as much, if not more, now than I did when I first saw it.

If my DVD/Blu-ray collection got whittled down to, say, one or two shelves worth of stuff, this would definitely still be there.
