OLED (nicer)screen, 1 inch bigger (smaller bezel so same size for the device), ethernet port replacing the 3rd USB port, better kickstand, 64 gigs of space so double, $50 more. Everything else is the same, if you only play on TV literally no differences. If you don't have a switch or wanted to replace it since yours is beat up, it's a better option but not for anyone else to upgrade. I would upgrade since the OLED is nice but my launch switch can have CFW and this one can't so it's far more valuable.

Heh, the title of this thread made me think of the literally-named "New 3DS." This updated model probably doesn't quite warrant such a status, but I have been holding out owning a console for years, so this might win me over.

If it streamed to the TV in 4K I'd buy it for sure.

Not been long since I bought the current model, are new games going to be for both as it isn't a big change? (I should bother to read the link really)

It's the same console, the display is the only part receiving an upgrade. So yes, older and newer games will work on both models with no difference at all.

I just recently bought a Switch and I have played it undocked just once, out of necessity, really. I don't know how my eyes deteriorated so much over the last 10-15 years, but playing on such a small screen is no fun for me. I have to squint constantly.

I'm down for a 4K model down the line, for sure. Mario Odyssey amazed me.
