Yep, I wonder if Bay's movie stopped newcomers from watching this show.

A lot has to do with the timeslot, lack of marketing and being able to view it online in advance.
I'm not sure about The Invasion, but the previous two new episodes had higher ratings during the Sunday morning repeat than they did on the Friday premiere. |

Maybe do a bit more research before making baseless assumptions? The show's ratings have been going downhill ever since Season 2 started...which was last year!

It doesn't matter which rate, they've been going down regardless.

This is what the show used to get. I still don't think the ratings matter all that much, but I am wondering if the show is like, too mature for the little kids and yet too immature with the older crowd. Maybe they need to just go to one side and stick with it. Hopefully it will lean towards the more mature end. |

As outdated as the Nielsen ratings are becoming, the thing is that the time span of this show has only been two years, so I doubt that television viewing habits have changed dramatically within that time span considering on-demand viewing and internet viewing habits were more or less the same back in 2012, and therefore it is fair to compare the figures from the very first episodes of the show to the most recent. What it indicates is that the proportion of viewers that do follow the "Nielsen method" are watching the Nick show less and less, which of course, isn't a good thing.
If this number of about 1.6 million is accurate for the Season 2 finale, that's a surprisingly anemic number since typically season finales have a boost in ratings. It's very possible that the early internet viewing could have reduced these numbers, but I wonder if the intention of releasing these final Season 2 episodes online was to determine if the falling Nielsen audience was truly representative of the entire, actual Nick TMNT audience since the more enthusiastic fans would gravitate toward viewing it online as soon as possible (since they could view the episode before the television airing). Hmmm.... something to think about. Anyways though, the show's quality and storywriting aside, Nick hasn't been handling the airing schedule well when there were opportune times to air the show. Did Nick even market it as the season finale though? I don't think many folks knew it was the finale outside of those on here.

I'm constantly amazed with Viacom's stupidity in promoting this show. Thank God for a successful toyline or this show would be dead.

I think the online episodes should attract more viewers as they are put up earlier.

A week after the episode has aired, I don't see why they don't just create their own youtube Nick channel, and stick the episode up there, that way they can get hard core evidence how many times the show is being viewed, and everyone can see it!

Exactly. Plus, they can make some extra money on the side from a youtube partnership.

Guys the show is going to get at least 7 seasons and 150 episodes, don't fret.

The problem with toy related shows is if for whatever reason Playmates decided to pull the plug, the show goes down with it.

We know for a fact it's renewed for 4 seasons. We know for a fact Ciro has a 5 year plan for the show. Never has your statistic ever come up...

If you think this show won't last as long as 4kids did with higher ratings and the toys probably selling more now than they did then, I don't know what to tell you.

No, I agree that it most likely will last about that long. However, this isn't really a fact as of now.

Nick is a bigger company then 4kids. Therefore, they have higher standards of what "sucessful" is.

Maybe the reason season 2 is getting less viewers is because reruns of previous episodes are shown rarely.
