Bans

Starting now, whenever someone is banned, it will be briefly mentioned here for transparency's sake.

Today "BornAgain" was banned because it turned out he was an alt-account of "AquaParade".

Man I never realized how many new users were just alt accounts of old banned users. That's kinda crazy when you realize how many of them there are. At this point you should check every new account with a low post count and made within the last few years.

I admit I always get excited scrolling through a thread and seeing a name crossed out in all red. It's like the Hunger Games, Survivor or Last Man Standing. You never know who is going to get axed next.

If a banned user returns with an alternate account, without doing any harm or violations, I think we should let it go.

The last two of these cases were originally banned for denying the holocaust and stealing another user‘s photograph, photoshopping it and using it as their avatar as a joke. We should not „let it go“.

On every forum I've ever been on, banned users coming back circumventing with a new account is considered against the rules and they get banned again. Especially if you get permabanned.

People get banned for a reason. This site has temporary bans that work as you describe, but it's for lesser offenses. I've agreed with almost every ban to date, despite them being done by a variety of different mods.

Most of the people who DO ban evade, are the very ones who ruined this poor forum years ago. I need not mention names, most of you know already. We should just let them mingle? Nah.

I noticed that quite a bit...someone hopping into conversations like old friends who have 20 posts and were created 3 years ago. Very sus.

Anyone who registered in 2020 or later should immediately be IP checked. If you're a new user, then that's cool. If not, well...

It’s always crazy when long term members who were always chill blokes get banned. I was looking into what happened to Aquaparade and saw this:

Only an obsessed crackpot would steal someone's personal photo and wield it as an avatar as-if that makes you your own man or something. I hope you are removed and banned from this place forever. We are all going to remember that one forever about "Michael Vaughan" aka AquaParade the twitching, stuttering Tourette's freak.
I mean wtf haha.

Another strange case was Abrown. He never started anything with anyone and he got the hammer. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few (not counting the obvious ones, like Sumac and maczaps).

Damn dude, that’s crazy. I even started that thread here and got away with it lol. We also had a thread about the Bill Fitts porn comic that was allowed. Plenty of barely censored pics and links to naughty stuff.
